IIFT Exam Pattern 2024 Key Changes Over the Years
- The timing of the IIFT exam has changed from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM to 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
- The IIFT form cost for the reserved category has been raised to INR 1250.

Every year, the quantity of questions on IIFT papers fluctuates. IIFT 2019 contained 114 multiple-choice questions, and IIFT 2020/ 2021/ 2023 had 110. An exam day strategy that has been carefully thought out is essential to maximising exam performance. Below are a few IIFT exam day tips:
- As soon as you get a look at the questions, rapidly plan your approach, allocate time for each portion, and attempt to stick to it. This will enable you to respond to the most questions possible.
- Make sure accuracy is given as much consideration as the number of attempts.
- IIFT is marked negatively. Don't do that. Never tackle a question that you are unsure of.
- Spend more time going over the responses you are unsure of.
- Avoid being bogged down by challenging inquiries. Leave it alone and move on to the following query.
IIFT Testing Schedule, Reporting Time, Closure of Entry
The invigilator at IIFT exam centre must finish the pre-exam procedures, including entry into the examination hall or room, physical screening of candidates, document verification, manual attendance recording, biometric registration at the registration desk, and cross-checking of the candidate's admit card, signature, and photo, by 9.45 a.m. at the latest. Following this, IIFT testing room's invigilators begin giving the candidates instructions.
IIFT 2024 Paper Pattern: Important Points
- The IIFT paper pattern 2024 now only features four sections instead of the previous six.
- The redesigned IIFT paper pattern now combines the verbal ability and reading comprehension sections into a single session.
- In the IIFT 2023 Exam Pattern, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning are now combined into a single session. In the updated IIFT 2024 pattern, candidates can attempt and convert DI questions to LR questions.
- IIFT test format and syllabus have reduced the number of questions from the previous 120+ to just 110.
- IIFT syllabus and pattern do not contain a set amount of questions. IIFT 2024 pattern may include anywhere between 110 and 130 questions. While the IIFT test pattern and curriculum for 2021 and 2020 both contained 110 questions, the IIFT 2024 pattern is anticipated to have the same number of questions. There were 114 questions in the 2019 and 2018 IIFT syllabus and pattern. In comparison to IIFT test pattern and syllabus from 2016, which had 124 MCQ-style questions, IIFT exam pattern and syllabus for 2017 featured 123 questions.
- The maximum score possible on the IIFT test is 300. Every incorrect response will result in a penalty of one-third of a mark under the IIFT 2024 exam format. Candidates must be careful to avoid this negative marking by carefully selecting the answer alternatives in the updated IIFT 2024 pattern if they want to optimise their score.
