MAT Exam Eligibility - Eligibility Criteria for MAT Exam 2020

Exam Date : November 21, 2020 To December 15, 2020

The AIMS has designed the MAT eligibility criteria 2020 in such a way that, candidates who have a bachelor's degree in any stream can apply for the MAT 2020 examination. The aspirants must make sure that all the MAT eligibility criteria are met before filling the MAT 2020 application form. All India Management Association (AIMA), the conducting Authority of Management Aptitude Test (MAT), has released the MAT eligibility criteria 2020. The MAT eligibility criteria 2020 are given below in detail. All candidates who want to appear for the examination must check if they meet the MAT eligibility criteria.

MAT Eligibility Criteria 2020

MAT exam is conducted four times a year i.e. in the months of February, May, September, and December. As per the MAT eligibility criteria, the aspirants must have completed the graduation in any stream from a recognized college, institute, or university. In addition, there is no age limit to appear for the MAT 2020 exam.

Candidates must check the complete MAT eligibility criteria 2020 given below before applying for the exam. Applicants who meet the MAT eligibility criteria only can apply for the exam.

Educational Qualification to be Eligibile for MAT 2020

As per the MAT eligibility, the candidates who have completed their graduation in any stream from a recognized institute or university are eligible to apply. Final year graduates from any discipline including, science, humanities, commerce, or engineering stream from a recognized institute or university are eligible to apply. There are no restrictions on the number of attempts for taking the MAT exam. If the candidates do not satisfy the eligibility criteria then their MAT 2020 Admit card will not be issued. All details regarding MAT exam eligibility based on the education qualification are listed below.

Bachelor's degree: Candidates should have a Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized Board or University to be eligible for MAT Exam 2020.

Percentage: To be eligible for MAT Exam 2020, applicants should have obtained a minimum of 50% in their graduation course.

Final Year Students: Final year candidates can also apply for the examination but they should meet the MAT eligibility criteria 2020. Before applying for the B-School candidate make sure that they clear their final year exams.

Work Experience: For MAT Exam 2020 candidates need not have work experience but if the candidate has any work experience then it will give additional weightage to the candidate's profile.

Nationality Requirements to be Eligibile for MAT 2020

An Indian citizen, as well as an NRI candidate, has no restrictions regarding the number of attempts for taking the MAT exams. As per the MAT eligibility, NRI candidates need to generate few documents while filling up the MAT application form. The MAT eligibility criteria 2020 based on the nationality is listed below:

  • Indian Citizen: Candidates who are the citizens of India are eligible to apply for MAT 2020 Exam.
  • NRI Candidates: MAT 2020 provide admission to NRI candidates also. NRI candidates are highly advised to produce a Passport copy and visa or evidence of NRI status all duly attested by a qualified notary or Indian mission/consulate or Indian Chamber of commerce in the country of residence or by consulate /mission/embassy of the concerned country in India.

MAT Age Limit and Attempts for the Candidates

  • Age Limit: There is no age limit for candidates to be eligible to apply for the MAT 2020 Exam.
  • Attempts Limit: There is no limit to the number of attempts they can take in this MAT 2020 Exam.

MAT Eligibility Criteria 2020 for IBT Mode

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, AIMA has introduced a new mode of examination known as Remotely Proctored Internet-Based Test (IBT). In the IBT mode, candidates can appear for the examination from their homes as maintaining social distance has become a new way of living. The MAT eligibility criteria for IBT mode are the same as mentioned above, but there are certain requirements which the candidates might have to match up in order to successfully appear and complete their MAT 2020 examination. The specified requirements are:

  • Computer Requirements: A computer system with a webcam for capturing candidate's images.
  • Local server or Cache proxy: In order to store entrance exam information and temporary storing candidate's result.
  • Operating System: Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 are preferable for successful completion of the entrance exam.
  • Browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer is recommended.
  • Internet connection: Broadband internet connection of speed 4Mbps and Upload speed of 1Mbps. A separate device for LAN and internet is advised rather than an integrated device

MAT IBT Mode 2020 Computer Specifications

Below are the computer specifications for MAT IBT mode 2020.

  • A processor with 4 GB of installed memory.
  • Free memory of approximately 1 GB or more.
  • Free disk space should be 2 GB or more than that.
  • The adapter of 1024x768 resolution.
  • Webcam-Logitech C270, C210, C170, and Microsoft VX800 are preferable.

Yes. A candidate should have done graduation in any discipline from any recognized university or should have an equivalent recognized degree to sit for MAT exams. Basically, a student should be a graduate from any recognized university to apply for MAT.

The eligibility criteria for appearing in MAT are as follows:

  • The minimum eligibility criteria are that the applicants must have completed their graduation course in any discipline from a recognized Board or University.
  • Applicants appearing in the final year exams of their graduation course are also eligible to apply for MAT.
  • MAT Applicant must have obtained at least 50% marks in their graduation course. The score limit for SC/ST candidates to be eligible is 45%.
  • The NRI candidates are also eligible to apply for MAT exam.
  • There is no age limit for candidates to be eligible to apply for the MAT exam. 
  • There is no limit to the number of attempts they can take in this exam
