Factors determining the MAT Cut Off 2021

- The total number of applications received.
- The total number of applicants who appeared for the exam.
- The total number of candidates who passed the MAT exam.
- The total number of seats available at the institute.
- The difficulty level of the question paper.
- Previous years' cut off scores.
While most of the colleges consider the overall MAT scores, some B-schools also consider the candidates' composite and sectional scores while preparing the cut offs.
Steps to check MAT Cut Off 2021
It has been mentioned that every participating institute/college will release a separate MAT cut off on its official website. Given below are some steps to help candidates check the MAT cut off for the institute where they are seeking admission.

- The candidates must save and take a printout of that institute's MAT cut off for further reference.
MAT Composite Score Evaluation
The MAT question paper is divided into 5 sections. The candidate's score in the first four, i.e., the Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis & Sufficiency and Intelligence & Critical Reasoning sections is used to derive the MAT Composite Score. It is evaluated on a scale of 199-801. More details related to the MAT composite scores are discussed below:
- Scoring below 200, and more than 800 is termed 'rare'. In each section, scoring below 20 or more than 80 is also a rare occurrence.
- All scores below 200 are called 199. Even if a candidate scores 145, it will be considered 199.
- Similarly, all scores above 800 are considered 801. Even if a candidate scores higher, it will still be considered 801.
Section-wise MAT Composite Scores
The table given below aims to bring clarity on the concept of MAT composite scores:
|Subject||Maximum Marks||Composite Score Range|
|Language & Comprehension||40||0-100|
|Data Analysis & Sufficiency||40||0-100|

What after MAT Cut Off 2021?
Every college has its own selection procedure after the MAT scores are declared. After MAT cut off 2021 is released by an institute, they filter out the best students from the crowd. Usually most of the universities/colleges follow the three stages of the pre-admission process given below:
- Group Discussion (GD)
- Personal Interview (PI)
- Written Ability Test (WAT)
Most of the institutions give preferences to the students who have scored a higher number of marks in the written ability test, Unlike group discussion and personal interview, it is easy to judge a candidate on the basis of his or her written test. At the same time, the candidates who do not speak up in GD and PI might lose an opportunity to take admission in a specific university. Therefore, we highly advise students to prepare well for all these rounds.
After these rounds, the selected candidates appear for MAT 2021 Counselling. While participating in the counseling rounds, candidates need to ensure that they have the following documents with them:
- MAT Admit card with Xerox copy
- Original certificates of 10th, 12th with Xerox Copy
- Medical documents
- MAT Rank Card
- All original certificates in concern to preceding qualification
- Caste certificates for the reserved category
- At least six recent passport-sized photographs
