Assam University

Assam University was started through the Assam (Central) University Act, 1989(Established under an Act of Parliament). B.Tech admission at Assam University is granted based on valid scores in the JEE Main and JoSAA counselling process. 

Assam University was established in 1994, and since then, the University has become a centre of learning and growth. The campus, situated in Dargakona, about 20 km from Silchar, is set amid sprawling hillocks, a typical landscape in the North East. Assam University Silchar offers admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate courses. Admissions for 2025 are currently open. Admissions to UG and PG courses are being made based on CUET scores. The other accepted entrance tests include CAT/GATE/Assam CEE, depending on course requirements.

The campus, in an area of 600 acres surrounded by lakes and mountains, provides an ideal environment for academic pursuit. Assam University has two campuses, one in Dargakona and the other in Diphu. Assam University is a UGC-recognised university and has been awarded a NAAC-B grade. Assam University provides courses in basic sciences, management, engineering, law, pharmacy, and education.

Assam University Admission

Assam University admissions for 2025 are ongoing. Admission is being made to BSc, BEd, BSW, MSW, MEd, MTech, BTech, BE, BVA, MVA, and many others. The admissions are being made based on CUET-UG and CUET-PG scores. The university also accepts JEE Main, CAT, GATE, and Assam CEE scores for BTech, MBA, MTech, and some UG courses. 

Assam University Eligibility Criteria

In addition to the CUET score, the candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria to secure admission to Assam University.

B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects and 50% marks.
• A valid JEE Mains score

BSc Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 in the science stream and secured 50% marks.
• A valid CUET-UG score

MSc Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have passed graduation with 50% marks.
• A valid CUET-PG/Assam CEE score.

MBA Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have passed graduation with 50% marks.
• A valid CAT score.

M.Sc Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have a graduation degree from a recognized institution
