2021 onwards, JEE Main is being held 4 times a year. The April and May 2021 sessions, however, have been postponed due to the high number of COVID-19 cases recorded in the past few weeks. The exam is likely to happen in July or August 2021. The candidates will be informed of the new exam dates at least 15 days in advance. JEE Main Exam Date 2021 Schedule
Earlier this year, the Union Education Minister of India, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, announced that the JEE Main 2021 exam will be held 4 times a year, starting February, followed by March, April, and May. This new change has brought relaxation to all aspiring candidates as they have the option to appear for the JEE Main exam at their convenience. However, due to the pertaining situation, JEE Main 2021 April and May sessions have been postponed indefinitely.
The JEE Main 2021 is conducted in two shifts i.e.
- First Shift: 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Second Shift: 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM

JEE Main Exam 2021 Session Schedule
Candidates must go through the schedule of the JEE Main 2021 dates to understand how the various rounds of the exam are conducted. JEE Main 2021 Exam Day Guidelines
National Testing Agency, i.e., NTA is responsible for releasing the JEE Main 2021 exam day guidelines along with the JEE Main admit card. JEE Main will be conducted four times a year for all engineering aspirants starting 2021. The authorities have decided to organize the JEE Main exam 2021 for Paper 1, as a computer-based test (CBT) across four sessions: February, March, April, and May sessions. While as an exception, the drawing section of Paper 2 (B.Arch) is organized in regular pen and paper tests. JEE Main 2021 Admit Card is made available on the official website by NTA for all successfully registered candidates. It is essential that all JEE Main 2021 exam day guidelines be adhered to by the candidates appearing for the examination. Candidates can check their Exam Date and Shift on the official website by providing their application number. All candidates must reach the exam centre at least 2 hours before the commencement of the JEE Main Exam.
Prohibited: In case a candidate gives false information and appears in more than one slot/date of the computer-based examination or appears in both the modes of examination i.e., pen & paper-based (only for drawing) and computer-based examination, then the candidature of that candidate will be cancelled.
Documents to be carried to the exam centre: Along with the JEE Main 2021 admit card, candidates will have to carry a few important documents to the exam centre. Permission to attend the exam will not be granted otherwise.
- One passport size photograph (same as the one uploaded in the online application form of JEE Main 2021).
- Original valid photo ID proof issued by the government (PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhar Card with a photograph, E-Aadhar, Ration Card)
- PwD certificate issued by the competent authority (if applicable).
