NTA NEET Result 2023 Highlights

NEET 2023 result will contain details like the aspirant's name, date of birth, secured subject-wise marks, total percentile scores, NEET All India Rank (AIR), and All India Quota (AQI) Rank, as well as the NEET category rank.

Along with NEET 2023 result, the marks equivalent to the cut-off percentile will also be declared. The minimum cut-off for the general category is around 50, while that for the SC/ST/OBC categories is 40 percentile.

When Will NEET UG 2023 Results be Declared?

NEET 2023 result date has not been announced yet. NTA will declare NEET result 2023 as scorecards on the official website. Candidates will have to use their NEET login credentials generated at the time of registration to check neet.nta.nic.in result 2023. After the NTA NEET exam result declaration, the conducting body will release the list of candidates who are qualified for the counselling process.

NEET 2023 Result: How Are Marks Calculated?

NEET UG 2023 result will be calculated based on the final answer key prepared after considering the objections raised by the candidates against the provisional answer key. NEET total marks is 720, and the NTA NEET result 2023 will be calculated according to the set marking scheme.

By knowing the marking scheme, candidates can calculate their estimated marks with the help of the provisional answer key and recorded responses.

The formula used to calculate the marks for NEET result 2023 is as follows.

NEET Total Marks = (Total Number of Correct Answers * 4) - (Total Number of Incorrect Answers * 1)

NEET Result 2023: How is NEET Percentile Score Calculated?

NEET percentile is the number of applicants who have scored higher or less than a particular candidate. The highest NEET raw score is used to determine NEET percentile. As a result, the NEET percentile score is the candidate's ranking relative to other candidates and the NEET topper.

According to NTA, NEET 2023 percentile score is the percentage of scores in a category that is below a specified score. The methodology used to determine a candidate's NEET percentile score is predetermined.

The formula to calculate the NEET percentile score for NEET result 2023 is below.

NEET Percentile Rank = (100 * Number of Candidates with NEET Raw Score Equal to/Less than a Candidate) / (Total Number of Candidates who Appeared for Exam)

NEET Result 2023: Validity of NEET Scores

Qualifying for the NEET exam is a mandatory criterion for admission to reputed Medical Colleges across India and foreign universities. In addition, the students who qualify for the exam by scoring the minimum qualifying marks will be eligible to participate in the counselling process for the country's 15 AIIMS and 2 JIPMER colleges. NEET Merit List 2023

NTA produces several category-wise merit lists, in consideration with NEET result 2023. Based on these merit lists, the institutions carry out the proceeding NEET counselling rounds. The list of seat allotment is also prepared through the same list.

The three types of NEET merit list 2023 are given below:

NEET 2023 Overall Merit List

Every candidate who appears for NEET 2023 shall find his/her name in this overall merit list declared by the National Testing Agency. This list is forwarded to every institution that carries out counselling rounds after NEET exam result 2023. The list shall contain scores obtained by each candidate, his or her rank, etc.

NEET 2023 15% All India Quota Merit List

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is responsible for the creation of this NEET merit list. It contains names of all the candidates who were successful in qualifying NEET exam 2023.

NEET 2023 State Quota Merit List

It must be known that 85% of the seats available in a state are reserved for candidates belonging to that state. The candidates have to enrol themselves for the counselling process of that state. The state is responsible for the creation of this merit list, containing the names of all the candidates who shall be given these seats.

NEET Result 2023 Tie-Breaking Criteria

Owing to the large number of candidates who attend NEET, it's not very rare for two or more candidates to secure the same marks. The tie-breaking procedure followed in allotting different rankings when two or more candidates secure the same marks in the NEET result is provided below.

Tie-breaking factors determine the All India Rank in the NEET result 2023 when two or more applicants have the same score. The tie-breaking standards applied in the NEET merit list for 2023 can be seen here by medical aspirants.

  • Biology Scores: In the NEET 2023 results, those with better Biology scores will be given preference.
  • Chemistry Scores: Candidates with better Chemistry scores will be given precedence if the previous criteria are unsuccessful.
  • Less Wrong Marks: If a tie still exists, the applicant with the less incorrect NEET 2023 answers will receive a better order of merit than the other candidates.
  • Age Factor: According to the most recent NEET 2023 update, severing links with the age factor was abandoned. But it would be considered during the second counselling round of NEET.

Rechecking of NEET 2023 Result

The candidates will not be provided with any facility to apply for re-evaluating or rechecking the NEET result 2023 after the official declaration.

However, NTA provided the option for candidates to challenge the provisional answer key and the OMR sheets within a stipulated time, after which no challenges are accepted. Similarly, the results and scores allotted to the candidates remain final after the official declaration.

What After NEET 2023 Result?

After the NEET UG 2023 result is declared, the qualified candidates must register to participate in the counselling process conducted by MCC to fill up the 15% seats under the All India Quota. The counselling process will be conducted for all the qualified candidates except those from Jammu and Kashmir.

The qualified candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, who are not participating in the AIQ counselling, must register for the state counselling process.

The other qualified candidates in NEET result 2023 must also apply for the counselling process conducted in their respective states after the results are declared if they are eligible based on the criteria prescribed by the state counselling conducting authorities.

NEET Counselling 2023

After NEET UG 2023 result declaration and the release of merit lists, NEET 2023 counselling process will begin at the participating institutions. The candidates should check their ranks and shortlist the colleges where their candidature will get accepted, and start applying.

They must visit the websites of all the colleges they have shortlisted, and have a look at the infrastructure, course fee and other important information.

NEET 2023 counselling process for every college/institution is done differently. The candidates are advised to refer to the list of all the documents and other paraphernalia, that they need to carry to NEET 2023 counselling.
