  • The course fee for all the specializations of M.Tech is INR 20,930 per annum at the University of Hyderabad.
  • Ph.D course fees range from INR 2,180 per annum to INR 10,530 per annum.
  • The course fee for the MCA at the University of Hyderabad is INR 21,080 per annum.
  • MBA course fees range from INR 43,820 per annum to INR  170,720 per annum.

University of Hyderabad Awards & Rankings:

To introduce the element of excellence in the University System, the University Grants Commission has identified a few Universities and granted them the status of ‘Universities with Potential for Excellence’, with the help of a high power Committee. The objective of this initiative was to provide these select institutions with augmented inputs, including additional funds, to sustain and enhance the quality of education and research. Based on the evaluation and recommendations of this committee, the University Grants Commission declared the University of Hyderabad as a ‘University with Potential for Excellence’. The university has sanctioned a grant of Rs. 30 crores under this scheme for interfacial Studies & Research and Holistic Development for a period of 5 years (2002-2007).

  • The Apex Council of NAAC granted the top grade of A ***** to the University (on a five-point scale A* to A*****).
  • The University has also been evaluated by the NISSAT (National Information System for Science and Technology) of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India, as the only University under the ‘High Output – High Impact’ category among the top 50 institutions in India with publications in citation - index journals.
  • The Department of Science and Technology (DST) of the Government of India approved over Rupees four crores under FIST (Fund for Improvement of Science and Technology) to the four Science Schools of the University to augment research facilities.
  • The university is also a constituent of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU); and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).

  1. What is the total number of seats for foreign nationals?
    - Students will be allowed over and above the approved admission in a course up to a maximum of 15% of the approved intake in each course. All accessible seats may not be fulfilled in a particular year if the subject's Admission Committee does not recommend anyone or if a program has inadequate infrastructure.
  2. When does one can apply?
    - International students may ask for admission anytime during the year. Nonetheless, the deadline for being considered for any academic year (which generally begins in mid-July) is April 1 of that year. The decision by the Admissions Committee will be hinted to the candidate by May 31.
  3. What medical facilities are accessible to students admitted?
    - All prospective students are expected to purchase a proper health insurance policy before arriving in India. Eligibility Criteria and Admission Procedure


University of Hyderabad Eligibility Criteria:

A prospective international student has to fulfil the qualification conditions, including the necessary qualifying degree and marks/grades, as directed for Indian students. These contingencies can be found in the prospectus which is accessible on the University website. If a student's parent university does not have a program that is prescribed for minimum eligibility conditions, the equivalent program may be considered. In this respect, the Admissions Committee's decision is final.
English proficiency: Proof of English proficiency is essential for a candidate who is a graduate from a University located in a non-English-speaking country. Such a candidate has to provide one of the following two scores. The score should not be older than two years.

  •  International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Academic version - minimum score of 6.5 is required.

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
        • Paper-based TOEFL: a minimum score of 560 is required.
        • Computer-based TOEFL: a minimum score of 220 is required.
        • Internet-based TOEFL: a minimum score of 80 is required.

Hostel Details


University of Hyderabad Hostel Details:

The University of Hyderabad Facilities includes a total of 10 hostels on campus, of which seven are for men and the remaining three are for women. Three men's hostels ('A', 'B' and 'D') are traditionally intended for those admitted to different P.G courses, while Men's hostel 'C', 'E', 'F' and 'G' are proposed for M.Phil students, Research scholars (Ph.D), M.Tech, students and M.B.A students, each. Of the three ladies hostels, LH-I and LH-III are designated for P.G students, and LH-II is for Ph.D, M.Phil and M.Tech students. 

  • The university provides hostel facilities to a limited number of students.
  • The hostel has various facilities for the student's comfortable stay.
  • Of the total number of seats in the hostels, 22.5% is allocated for candidates pertaining to SC/ST and 3% for Physically challenged students.
  • Students enrolled for a second P.G course (after completion of one P.G course), as well as part-time students are not eligible for hostel accommodation.
  • Application for provision of accommodation briefly will not be considered.
  • Mess Facilities are also available for students.
