UPTU Eligibility Criteria Highlights
Candidates are advised to go through UPTU eligibility criteria before applying for the UPTU exam. Otherwise, candidates failing to meet eligibility criteria will not be allowed to appear for the entrance exam. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria should go through an end-to-end application process. Specification of UPTU eligibility criteria is as given below.
Age Limit: Candidates of all ages can register for any courses furnished by UPTU.
Domicile: According to UPTU eligibility 2023, candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from institutions located in UP or whose parents are domicile of UP can apply for UPTU 2023. If candidates have studied or passed the qualifying examination from outside UP, they will have to produce domicile certificates of their parents (father or mother only) during document verification. Apart from this, if a candidate's parents are not a domicile of UP and have passed the qualifying exam from an institution outside UP, they can also apply for this entrance exam. However, these candidates will be considered for admission to only 20% of sanctioned seats available affiliated with UPTU eligibility.
Note: Candidates will not be offered reservation benefits under this option. Other seats to such candidates will be allotted based on their UPTU 2023 merit.
UPSEE 2023 Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Nationals: Candidates belonging to Foreign Nationals (FN), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CIWGC) are also eligible to appear for the UPTU 2023 examination.
Quota Seats: Uttar Pradesh State Government has permitted 10% of total sanctioned seats for admission in the first year in Technology/ Architecture courses in private institutions affiliated to AKTU shall be opened to candidates whose parent belongs to a state other than Uttar Pradesh and has passed the qualifying examination from an institution located outside Uttar Pradesh. These seats shall be filled based on UPTU 2023 merit.
Qualifying Exams & Marks: Candidates must have passed the UP Board intermediate examination or 10+2 or equivalent exam.

UPTU Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech
The UPTU eligibility criteria for B.Tech 2023 is that a candidate must have passed intermediate examination of Uttar Pradesh Board or 10+2 level examination or any equivalent exam from a recognized board/ university without grace in required compulsory subjects and one optional subject and securing minimum of 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST Category candidates) in aggregate.
UPTU Eligibility Criteria for BHMCT/ BFAD/ BFA
For admission to the first year of BHMCT/BFAD/BFA courses in UPTU 2023, the candidate must have passed intermediate examination of Uttar Pradesh Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized board/ university and secure a minimum of 45% marks without grace (40% marks for SC/ST category candidates) in aggregate.
UPTU Eligibility Criteria for B.Arch
For admission to the first year of B.Arch course in UPTU 2023, a candidate must have passed intermediate examination of Uttar Pradesh Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized board/ university and should secure a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and also passed without grace in each compulsory and optional subjects.
UPTU Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech (Agriculture)
For admission to the first year of B.Tech (Agriculture) course in UPTU 2023 a candidate must have passed intermediate examination of Uttar Pradesh Board or 10+2 level examination or any equivalent examination from any recognized board/ university in the field of agricultural and secured minimum 45% marks without grace (40% marks for SC/ST category candidates) in aggregate.

For admission to the first year of MBA in any institution affiliated to UPTU 2023, a candidate must have passed a bachelor's degree course of three years minimum duration from a recognized university in India or any equivalent university recognized by A.I.U and secure a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ ST) marks in academics aggregate.
UPTU Eligibility Criteria for MCA
The UPTU MCA eligibility criteria are that a candidate must have passed a bachelors degree course of three years minimum duration from a recognized university in India or any equivalent university recognized by A.I.U and secure a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate. Candidate must have passed Mathematics at 10+2 level or graduation level to get eligibility for MCA program.

UPTU Eligibility Criteria for B.Arch Lateral Entry
A candidate having three years diploma in Architecture (10+3), which the central/ state government recognizes, is also eligible for admission to the first year of B.Arch course in UPTU 2023, and the candidate has to pass the diploma examination securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate without any grace.
UPTU Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Lateral Entry
Candidates who have passed three years diploma from an institution located in Uttar Pradesh with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ ST) or whose parents are domicile of Uttar Pradesh or they have passed three years diploma with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ ST) recognized by Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education from any branch of diploma (except Agriculture, Pharmacy and Architecture) are eligible for admission to the second year in any branch of Engineering affiliated to UPTU 2023.
UPTU Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech (Agriculture) Lateral Entry
Candidates should have passed a three-year diploma course from an institution located in Uttar Pradesh with a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ ST) or whose parents are domicile of Uttar Pradesh. They must have passed a three-year diploma course in Agriculture with a minimum 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ ST) recognized by the Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education. Such candidates will be eligible for admission to the second year of the Agriculture branch in UPTU 2023.
UPTU Eligibility Criteria for MCA Lateral Entry
For Admission to the second year of MCA course in any institution affiliated to UPTU 2023, the candidate must have completed a bachelor's degree course of a minimum of three years duration in BCA, B.Sc (IT/ Computer Science) from a recognized university in India or its equivalent recognized by A.I.U and securing minimum 50% (45% for SC/ ST) marks in aggregate. Candidate should have cleared Mathematics at 10+2 level or graduation level to be eligible for UPTU 2023 entrance examination.

Candidates who have passed three years B.Sc degree and passed XII standard with Mathematics as one of the subjects from any recognized university, securing a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ ST) in the aggregate are also eligible for admission to the second year in any branch of Engineering affiliated to UPTU 2023.
UPTU Eligibility Criteria for B.Pharm
Candidates who have passed 2 or 3 years diploma course in Pharmacy from an institution located in Uttar Pradesh with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ ST) or whose parents are domicile of Uttar Pradesh and they passed 2 or 3 years diploma course in Pharmacy with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) recognized by the Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education are eligible for admission to the second year of B.Pharm degree in UPTU 2023.
UPTU Eligibility Criteria 2023 for NRI Candidates
NRI candidates who possess minimum requisite qualification may get direct admission to 5% seats of total intake in State-Funded and Private Institutions of Uttar Pradesh in all courses except MBA/MCA of UPTU 2023. Applicants opting B.Arch course under this category have to appear in Aptitude Test on the day of UPTU 2023 counselling which will be notified.
The UPTU eligibility criteria for NRI students are as given below.
- Candidates who have passed the qualifying examinations, including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects from any institution situated outside India, considered equivalent to (10+2) examination by the Association of Indian Universities, are eligible.
- Candidates must have passed High School Certificate Education (GCE) examination with Physics, Chemistry and Higher Mathematics (A) from London/ Cambridge/ Sri Lanka and also appeared in SAT II examination with Mathematics level II (C), Physics and Chemistry. UPTU 2023 relative merit of such cases will be decided on their SAT-II score are eligible.
- Vacant seats in UPTU 2023 NRI quota (if any) shall be filled up by the son/ daughter/ sibling of NRIs who have passed intermediate or (10+2) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics without grace in each and securing minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) from an institution situated in India. Children of siblings and children of NRI may also be considered if seats remain vacant.
