HBCSE PRMO comes at the very first stage of the Indian Mathematical Olympiad. The exam is conducted under the Mathematics Teachers Association's (MTA) guidance. 

The main purpose of the PRMO exam is to identify the best students in the nation and further prepare them for various international competitions. Furthermore, the RMO exam, which comes at the second stage of IMO, was held on Oct 29, 2023, from 1 to 4 pm.

HBCSE PRMO 2024 Exam Details

Students must remember that if the number of participants appearing in the HBCSE PRMO exam is less than 300 in any region, then the maximum number of students qualifying for RMO will be 50.

HBCSE PRMO 2024 Exam Dates

The HBCSE authorities have stated that Sikkim is a separate region for the INMO exam. The merit certificate holders can directly appear in INMO and are not required to write PROMO/RMO. The Kerala and Tamilnadu regions have included the Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

HBCSE PRMO 2024 Eligibility Criteria

IMO consists of five stages, and HBCSE PRMO comes in the first stage. To appear for the exam, the students must fulfill the below-mentioned PRMO eligibility criteria to sit for the HBCSE PRMO exam.

A list of the eligibility criteria is given in the table below.

  • Candidates born on or after Aug 1, 2004, and studying in Class 8,9,10,11, or 12 are eligible to write PRMO.
  • Only Indian citizens and students with OCI cards can complete the PRMO registration form.
  • The student must have been residing and studying in India since Oct 30, 2021, or earlier OR must have been studying in an Indian school system since Oct 30, 2021, or earlier.
  • The student must have completed (or scheduled to complete) the class 12 board examination on Oct 30, 2024.
  • The student must have yet to commence (or plan to commence) studies in a university or equivalent institution by Jun 1, 2023.

HBCSE PRMO 2024 Registration

The IOQM/PRMO centre registration dates commenced on Jun 22, 2024, and the window closed on Aug 5, 2024. Meanwhile, the IOQM/PRMO student registration dates started on Jul 10, 2024, and ended on Aug 8, 2024. Note that the candidates who attend open/homeschooling, overseas students, or those whose school is registered as PRMO exam centers will have to register for IOQM online mode on the official website.

Steps to Apply for HBCSE PRMO 2024

  • First, visit the official website of HBCSE PRMO.
  • Once on the homepage, tap the "HBCSE PRMO application form" link.
  • After that, fill in the HBCSE PRMO application form and submit it to the respective schools.
  • Next, the students must pay the PRMO exam fees of Rs. 200.
  • Finally, candidates must upload the required documents: one passport-size photo, a copy of their school ID card, and a copy of their birth certificate in the specified format.
  • Last, save and download the HBCSE PRMO registration form and take a printout for future reference.

Note: School students from KV and JNV must register from their respective schools. However, students from other schools can register from any other school except KV and JNV.

HBCSE PRMO 2024 Exam Pattern

The HBCSE PRMO exam consists of a single or double-digit answer to every question. Each one of these answers has to be filled in the OMR sheet. Note that in the HBCSE PRMO exam, the answers to the questions must also be written numerically, and the appropriate bubble should be darkened.

Here are the details about the HBCSE PRMO exam pattern.

  • The HBCSE PRMO exam is 3 hours long and based on the high school syllabus.
  • The HBCSE PRMO exam consists of 10 questions of 2 marks each, 10 questions of 3 marks each, and ten questions of 5 PRMO qualifying marks each.
  • Each question in the HBCSE PRMO has an integer answer in the range of 00 to 99. 
  • Students will be permitted to take the 'student copy' of the exam home once the HBCSE PRMO exam is conducted.

Note: There is no negative marking in the HBCSE PRMO exam.

Note that MTS authorities have released the previous year's PRMO question paper and answer key on its official website.

HBCSE PRMO 2024 Admit Card

After successful HBCSE PRMO registration, the authorities will release the PRMO admit card for the exam to all the registered centers. Therefore, the participants can visit their registration centre and collect their PRMO admit cards. Subsequently, the participants' certificates will be sent to the respective registration centers.

HBCSE PRMO 2024 Results

The Mathematics Teachers Association will release the HBCSE PRMO result on their official website. The HBCSE PRMO results are most likely to be out in October.

Note: Students from Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya must contact their respective school coordinators for PRMO results, as they will not be posted online.
