NTSE Kerala 2022 - Notification, Exam Dates, Registration

The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a scholarship program at the national level to acknowledge and promote talented students. NTSE stage 1 exam dates in Kerala will be conducted on 30th January 2022. The shortlisted candidates compete at the stage 2 examination, which NCERT will conduct.

The NTSE application forms 2022 were accepted online through the official website of NTSE Kerala. Only those students who are studying in class X in the state are eligible to apply for NTSE. Finally, the selected candidates who have qualified in both the stages of NTSE 2022 will receive scholarships.

NTSE Kerala 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Students who wish to apply for the stage 1 exam must check the NTSE eligibility criteria before applying.

They must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to apply successfully:

  • The students must have secured 55% marks in the class 9 exams, excluding language subjects.
  • Students studying in class X in Kerala can only apply for the exam.
  • Students who are below 18 and undertaking Open Distance Learning are also eligible to apply for this exam.

NTSE Kerala 2022 Application Form

NTSE Kerala online registration for the stage 1 exam was opened on 27th October 2021, and the last date is extended till 30th November 2021.
Documents required for NTSE registration are,

  • Photo in .jpg or .jpeg format, which has a maximum size of 60 kb.
  • The PwD certificate, caste certificate, OBC-NCL certificate, BPL certificate (as applicable) are in pdf format, but the size should not exceed 500 kb.
  • The application fee is Rs.250 for the general category and Rs.100 for SC/ST/BPL category.

To fill the NTSE Kerala application form 2022, students need to follow the steps below:

  • Go to the official website of SCERT and click on the link to the NTSE scholarship exam.
  • Once the website opens, click NTSE online application 2021-22, and it will open the NTSE Kerala registration portal.
  • Register with Kerala NTSE by entering the required details and pressing the submit button.
  • The Username and password will be sent to the registered email id. Now, log in with the received credentials.
  • Click on the NTSE application form and fill the form with all details as asked.
  • Upload relevant certificates and click on the submit button.
  • Then enter institute details and other details and click on the OK button.
  • Pay the application fee through credit card/debit card, internet banking.
  • Take a printout of the application form and submit it to the principal/HM for verification.

NTSE Kerala 2022 Admit Card

SCERT released the admit card of Kerala NTSE stage 1 on 19th January 2021. NTSE Kerala admit cards are made available online through the official website. Students should contact officials in case of any discrepancies. It's mandatory to carry the admit card to the exam hall.

NTSE Kerala 2021 Syllabus

NTSE syllabus 2021 is the same for both stages, and it is based on class 9 and 10 state board syllabus and CBSE curriculum.

Below are the highlights of the NTSE Kerala syllabus.

  • The NTSE exam is divided into two sections: SAT and MAT.
  • MAT involves questions from verbal and non-verbal reasoning to test candidates' logical thinking and analytical skills.
  • The questions will be asked from classification, analogy, numerical series, pattern perception, hidden figure, etc.
  • SAT exam is held to test a candidate's knowledge of Mathematics, Science, and Social Science subjects.
  • Students can opt for any one language (English, Malayalam, Tamil, or Kannada) as a medium of the exam.

NTSE Kerala 2022 Answer Key

The answer key of NTSE Kerala 2021 will be released by the exam conducting authority after the successful conduction of the exam. NTSE Kerala 2022 Expected Cutoff

The qualifying marks for stage 1 Kerala NTSE are 40% and 32% for general and SC/ST/PH category, students. But students must have to score the NTSE cutoff marks to get them shortlisted for the stage 2 exam.

NTSE Kerala 2022 Results

SCERT Kerala will release the result of the stage 1 Kerala NTSE exam in Febuary-March 2022. Candidates can see their results on the official website. The merit list will contain the names of those candidates who will qualify for stage 2. After the release of NTSE Kerala results, the cutoffs will be announced soon. Students who secure these marks can find their names on the merit list.

NTSE Scholarship

NCERT will hold the final exam, and after the NTSE stage 2 result, around 220 selected students will be able to avail scholarship up to PhD level. The scholarship rates are determined by NCERT, which are the same for all category students.

The scholarship amount varies at the different levels of the study, which are given below:

  • Rs.1250 will be given per month for classes 11 and 12.
  • Rs.2000 per month will be given for UG and PG levels.
  • The scholarship is provided to PhD students as per directions from UGC.
