The eligibility criteria for NMAT 2021 is prescribed by the GMAC. Candidates should check the NMAT eligibility criteria before filling out the application for NMAT 2021. Candidates having a minimum of 50% aggregate at the undergraduate level from a recognized university, can apply for NMAT 2021, which will be conducted from Nov 4, 2020 to Jan 30, 2021.

NMAT 2021 Eligibility for NMIMS Campuses

The NMAT exam provides a platform for students seeking admissions into MBA courses for a variety of specializations, offered by the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). The NMAT exam also offers potential candidates admissions into their Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program. The NMAT 2021 eligibility criteria will differ across the various courses offered by the University. The NMAT 2021 eligibility criteria for the various courses is as follows:

NMIMS MBA and MBA in HR

The NMAT eligibility criteria 2021 for NMIMS MBA and MBA in HR is the same, whereas the selection process will differ for both courses. Below, are the NMAT eligibility criteria for both MBA and MBA in HR offered by NMIMS:

  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% aggregate, can apply for NMAT 2021
  • Candidates who are part-time graduates, or have completed distance-learning or corresponding courses, are not eligible to sit for NMAT 2021

NMIMS MBA in Pharmaceutical Management

The NMAT 2021 eligibility criteria for NMIMS MBA in Pharmaceutical Management is as follows:

  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Science, MBBS, BDS, Science, BAMS, BHMS, B.Sc and M.Sc. in Biotechnology, are eligible to apply for NMAT 2021
  • Candidates with a master's degree in Psychology, Sociology and Economics are eligible to apply for NMAT 2021
  • Candidates with B.Tech, B.E. in Biotech, or a B.E. Bio-medical, are eligible to apply for NMAT 2021
  • A minimum aggregate of 50% in the first attempt is mandatory for all the courses mentioned above
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have 2+ years of work experience in pharmaceutical companies
  • Candidates who are part-time graduates, or have completed distance-learning or corresponding courses, are not eligible to sit for NMAT 2021

NMIMS PGDM

The NMAT eligibility criteria 2021 for NMIMS PGDM is as follows:

  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% aggregate in the first attempt, can apply for NMAT 2021
  • Candidates who are part-time graduates, or have completed distance-learning or corresponding courses, are not eligible to sit for NMAR 2021

NMAT Eligibility Criteria 2021 for International Candidates

The NMAT exam is open for international candidates should they choose to seek admission into the courses offered by NMIMS. The NMAT eligibility criteria for international applicants is as follows:

  • International candidates with a bachelor's degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% aggregate in the first attempt, can apply for NMAT 2021
  • International candidates must have a valid GMAT score of 600 and above. The GMAT scores, prior to 3 years up to October 2020 will be considered
  • International candidates with more than 2 years of post-qualification experience will be given preference
  • International candidates should get a clearance from their jurisdiction's government along with a student visa from the Indian Embassy in that particular jurisdiction

NMAT by GMAC Eligibility 2021 - Points to Remember

Apart from the details mentioned above, candidates need to remember certain points in regards to the NMAT 2021 eligibility. Candidates are advised to go through the following points:

  • Candidates from overseas universities need to produce an AIU certificate.
  • The following candidates will be granted reservation if they meet the desired cut-offs and other eligibility requirements pertaining to the respective courses applied for, at the time of registration:
    • Widows/wards of martyred Armed Forces personnel killed in action during peacetime
    • Wards of Kashmiri migrants
  • Provisional admission will be granted to candidates appearing for the final examination in full-time bachelor programs. However, admissions will depend on whether the candidate has managed to secure a minimum aggregate of 50%, and they will have to produce the necessary original documents within the stipulated time.
  • Candidates have to produce semester/trimester-wise consolidated marks sheet for all the years for the university that they have graduated from.
  • Printed/Internet copies of the marks card need to be attested with the official seal by the principal of the university.
  • For candidates who have graduated from a university with a Grade Point Average (GPA) system, the equivalent GPA or CGPA from the university will have to be produced.

NMAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria for Other Colleges

There are several other campuses that offer admissions to the various programs mentioned above through the NMAT exam. Each campus has separate eligibility criteria, as mentioned in the table below:

NMAT 2021 Reservation Policy

The Graduate Management Aptitude Council (GMAC) does not determine the reservation policy for the NMAT exam. GMAC does not conduct the admission process for MBA program in NMIMS affiliated colleges. NMAT scores, however, are accepted by various MBA colleges across the country. Candidates can note the following points in regards to the reservation and NMAT eligibility while applying for the exam:

  • All the colleges accepting NMAT scores for admissions into MBA/PGDM programs will set their own reservation policy and rules of seat allotment.
  • There are no category-wise qualifying marks for the NMAT exam. All the categories will have uniform qualifying marks.
  • Admissions into MBA/PGDM programs through NMAT by GMAC will be subject to reservation policies set by the respective B-School.

NMAT 2021 Important Dates

The NMAT 2021 exam is scheduled for Nov 4, 2020. Candidates have ample time to prepare for the exam. The registration window has been extended to November 30, 2021. Candidates must go through the NMAT eligibility criteria carefully before starting their registrations for the exam. The important dates for NMAT 2021 are given in the table below:

NMAT 2021 Registration Process

Candidates need to check the NMAT 2021 eligibility criteria, syllabus and exam pattern prior to starting the registration process for the exam. The NMAT 2021 registration process is as follows:

  • Visit the website of NMAT by GMAC; nmat.org.in
  • Create an NMAT login account with a valid email address
  • Enter details such as personal information, contact information, education level, work experience, list of programs to send scores, and a unique ID that will be used as the login ID
  • Under the "Programme Details" section, select the schools where the results have to be sent
  • Select up to 7 programs. Each program has a registration fee of INR 200 (including taxes)
  • Upload a recent passport size photograph
  • Pay the registration fee
