NMAT by GMAC is a competitive entrance test held for admission into MBA and PGDM courses offered at NMIMS - Narsee Monjee Institute of Management of Studies, and 47+ B-Schools situated in India, South Africa, and the Philippines. It was last held from Nov 4, 2020, to Jan 30, 2021 The application process for the next phase of NMAT 2021 is likely to commence in Sept 2021. The exam will take place multiple times, on various dates between Nov 2021 and Dec 2021. The candidates are given the option to choose the date and venue of the exam.

What is NMAT Exam?

The full form of NMAT is NMIMS Management Aptitude Test. The top-scorers of this entrance exam get the opportunity to study Management from the top B-Schools like NMIMS, SPJIMR, ISB, VIT, XIMB, ICFAI Business School (IBS), etc. NMAT is conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC™) as a computer-administered test owned by the Graduate Management Global Connection (GMGC) Private Limited.

  • Till 2019, the NMAT test window was opened for 75 days. 2020 onwards, it has been increased to 88 days. Candidates can appear for the exam thrice within this window.

NMAT 2021 Exam Date

The NMAT 2021 will be held between November and December 2021, tentatively. The application process will commence in September 2021 tentatively. Candidates should keep the aforementioned dates in mind, and prepare for NMAT 2021 accordingly. The official dates will be updated in this section once they are announced. The test window for NMAT 2020 was increased to 88 days from the usual 75-day test window due to COVID -19.

Note: The NMAT score is announced within 48 hours of taking the test, but the overall aggregate result is declared after 15 days of the exam completion cycle.

Retaking NMAT 2021

A candidate can attempt NMAT a total of 3 times. But after the first attempt, he or she will have to wait for 15 days to retake the exam. Moreover, one can reschedule NMAT if one cannot appear for the test at the previously chosen time. Aspirants can reschedule NMAT within 72 hours of the previous appointment time.

NMAT 2021 Eligibility

Candidates are required to go through the NMAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria prior to applying for the examination. Domicile and Nationality

  • The candidates have to be a citizen of India.
  • They must provide valid information and proof supporting the fact that they are citizens and residents of the country.

Age Limit

  • The exam authority sets no age limit. Hence, candidates belonging to all age groups can take this test.

Educational Qualification

  • Generally, the qualification for NMAT is classified as stated below.
  • All candidates with a valid bachelor's degree will be eligible for NMAT.
  • Graduates who have completed their degree without any standing backlogs will be considered eligible.
  • Aspirants must have scored at least 50% of the total marks in their bachelor's program.
  • Candidates should make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria before applying for the NMAT 2021 exam.
  • Be that candidates with a work experience of 2 to 3 years are generally preferred as it may.

NMAT 2021 Registration

Candidates are required to go through the important information prior to registration. Certain details relating to the educational and personal information of the candidates will be necessary for the NMAT 2021 Registration. How to apply for NMAT 2021?

Here are some instructions and tips which the candidates must follow while applying for NMAT 2021:

  • Go to the official website of the NMAT.
  • Click on the "Register" Tab.
  • Create a new account with a valid email ID on the portal if you are a new user.
  • Provide your contact information, personal information, education, and work experience. The ID that you will use for identification purposes on the day of the exam, and a list of programs you wish to send your scores.
  • Agree to the terms and conditions of registering for the exam.
  • Make sure that your name and date of birth match your ID Card.
  • Select the schools you wish to send your scores to, under the "Schools Preference" section. A total of 5 programs are included in your registration fee. An additional INR 200 + taxes will be applicable for each program you apply for after the first 5.
  • Upload a scanned copy of your photograph and signature as per the specifications mentioned in the portal.
  • Select the mode of examination of your choice, whether you want to take it in your home or at a test centre.
  • Pay the respective fee for examination/registration.
  • Once your payment is completed and realized by the authority, the "Schedule Exam" option will be activated in your dashboard so that you can schedule your exam slot.

NMAT 2021 Admit Card

The candidate can download the NMAT 2021 Admit Card by using the personal NMAT by GMAC™ login account. In addition to the admit card one has to bring the confirmation mail as proof or candidates can also opt to take a printout of the same. Moreover, they have to produce an original document for the photo id and signature id verification process. After registration, one must download the admit card and bring the same to the exam hall. It will be signed by a designated officer. During admission, some B-schools will demand the NMAT Admit Card, and hence it is necessary to keep it safe.

After completing the registration, the NMAT hall ticket will be issued to all the candidates. They must download it and take a printout of it, as it contains vital information such as the candidate's roll number, personal details, etc.

NMAT 2021 Exam Pattern

NMAT 2021 Result

  • The NMAT scores are available after 48 hours of attempting the test.
  • After 4 to 5 weeks of the commencement of the test, the final scores will be sent via mail to the candidate. One has to log in to his or her NMAT by GMAC™ account to access the results of the NMAT 2021.
  • After the final percentile is released, the scorecard will be sent to the concerned schools as mentioned by the candidate.

NMIMS 2021 Admission

After the results are out candidates can visit the NMIMS official website and check the list of shortlisted candidates. If an aspirant is selected then he or she can download the call letter and attend the admission process.

The counselling process for NMAT generally consists of CD (Case Discussion) and PI (Personal Interview) rounds. After these rounds, the final merit list will be posted on the official website of NMIMS college.

Is the exam conducted in offline mode?

No. NMAT is conducted in online mode only.

What is the exam pattern?

The NMAT question paper consists of 120 objective type questions and is divided into three sections.

What is the marking scheme?

For every correct answer, the candidate will be awarded one mark and there is no negative marking.

Can a candidate switch between sections during the exam?

No. A candidate cannot switch between the sections during the exam. A certain period of time is allotted for answering all three sections. Once the allotted time is completed, the answers in that section cannot be edited.

Can the section order be chosen by candidates?

Yes. Candidates can choose the order of the sections.

Is working experience considered as a criterion?

Candidates with a working experience of minimum two years will have high chances of getting admission into the college.

What is the minimum qualification required?

Candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate in their full-time Bachelor\'s Degree. Candidates who completed their Bachelor\'s Degree through distance education will be not be considered eligible to apply for the job.

What is the qualification required for MBA in Pharmaceutical Management?

Applicants should have a minimum of four-year certification in MBBS, Pharmacy, Life Science, BDS, BHMS, Science, BAMS, B.Sc or M.Sc in Biotechnology, B.Tech in Bio-Tech or Bio-Medical Degree.

Are international students eligible to apply for NMAT?

Yes. International students are also eligible to apply for the exam.

What is the qualification required for International students?

Students must have a Bachelor\'s degree with an aggregate of minimum 50% and they must also have a GMAT score of 600 or above. Students with more than two years of work experience are favored.

What are the criteria considered for shortlisting the candidates?
