The official website has details of CAT exam 2019 test centres. The CAT 2019 Exam centres are increased every year to cater to the convenience of the students. Almost every state of the country has been allotted a CAT exam centre.

  • Preferred Exam Centre: While filling a  CAT Application Form, the candidate can choose up to 4 preferred exam centres, depending upon nearest exam centres to the candidate.
  • Number of Students: More than 2 lakh candidates who attend CAT every year.
  • Cities: The CAT exam 2019 is conducted in around 140 cities in more than 300+ venues.
  • Conducting authority: The conducting authority will not accept requests for change of exam centre once it is allocated for CAT 2019.

CAT Exam centres in India 2019

  • Total cities: There are 138 cities where CAT 2019 will be conducted. There might be some changes in the number of cities and the examination centre. The decision depends on  IIM Lucknow and the list of cities can be changed or updated at any time.
  • Check the official site: From past few years conducting authorities are increasing every year to reach out to students from tier II cities. We recommend you to check the official CAT website i.e. iimcat.ac.in to keep yourself updated regarding the newly added test centres.
  • Mandatory Documents: Along with the admit card, candidates are required to carry a government-approved identification proof such as Pan Card, Voter ID, Aadhar Card etc. CAT 2019 is expected to conduct in 138 cities.

CAT Exam Centre - Points to Remember:

  • In the interest of aspirants, it is advised to visit the test location at least a day before the CAT 2019 Exam. This will help them to get acquainted with the route of the journey.
  • Reaching the CAT 2019 Test Centre well-before the reporting time is essential.
  • Candidates must carry their admit card and other Id proof documents to CAT 2019 Exam Centre without fail.
  • Some test centres might not have space to hold the candidate's belongings. Therefore, aspirants have to manage these things.
  • Parking facility might not be available in certain CAT test centres, so test-takers must plan their travel accordingly.

 CAT Exam Centre Choices

  • Create the profile: Candidates can choose their preferred CAT test city from the above-mentioned test cities. To choose the test centre, they have to first create a profile on the official CAT exam website and register for CAT 2019.
  • Exam authority:  The exam authority tries to allow the first preferred CAT test centre to all candidates but there may be some circumstances they might allow another test centre to the candidate, depending on the number students applying for CAT exam 2019. The procedure to choose their preferred test centre are given below:
  • Login to the profile: Create a profile on the official CAT 2019 website i.e, iimcat.ac.in, Log in to your profile with the user id and password.
  • Fill and select: Go to the link to fill up the application form online, select their preferred exam centre very carefully in the Application form.
  • Prohibited items: Things like jewellery, watches, electronic gadgets like mobile phones, calculators, etc. or any other metal item are not allowed inside the exam centres.
  • Entry Timings: You should make sure you are at the venue 15 minutes before the reporting time to be on the safer side. The last entry to the exam centres will end at 8:45 AM for the forenoon session and 2:15 PM for the afternoon session. After which no one will be allowed to enter the exam centre.

Note:  

  • Last year there were 400+ test centres in around 140 cities and this year it is expected to be more than that.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to change their preferred test centre under any circumstance. Hence, they must select the exam centres very carefully.

Q. When should I produce the Admit Card?

  • Ans: You must produce the admit card on the day of the exam at the CAT Exam Centre. Take a clear printout of the CAT Admit Card and follow the instruction mentioned on it.

Q. May I carry calculators to the test centre?

  • Ans: You are not allowed to carry a calculator to the exam centre. However, you may use the onscreen calculator available on the computer screen.

  • No. Time slots are given on a random basis. The candidates can only choose the date of exam.
