CAT exam centers are increased every year to cater to the convenience of the students. Almost every state of the country has been allotted a CAT exam center.

Preferred Exam Centre: While filling the application form, the candidate can choose up to 6 preferred exam centers, depending upon the nearest exam centers to the candidate. Conducting authority will not accept requests for change of exam center once it is allocated for CAT 2020. Details of the test center will be accessible from the official website.

List of CAT Exam Centres 2020

Total cities: There are 156 cities where CAT 2020 will be conducted. There might be some changes in the number of cities and the examination center. The decision depends on IIM Lucknow and the list of cities can be changed or updated at any time.

Mandatory Documents: Along with the admit card, candidates are required to carry a government-approved identification proof such as Pan Card, Voter ID, Aadhar Card, etc. CAT 2020 is expected to conduct in 156 cities.

How to Select the CAT 2020 Exam Centre?

  • Register for the CAT 2020 on the official website
  • Fill the application form using the login ID
  • Go to the section of 'Select Test City'
  • Candidates can select up to six cities from the drop-down
  • Fill the rest of the fields in the application form and make payment of the exam fee.
  • Click on 'submit' for successful registration

CAT 2020 Exam Centre Instructions: Dos and Don'ts

On the day of the exam, the candidates will be frisked and checked before entering the CAT exam centre 2020. If a candidate’s exam starts at 9:30 AM, they are advised to reach the CAT test centre by 7:30 AM. For candidates taking the exam in the second slot, the reporting time is 12:00 PM. Other dos and don'ts of the CAT exam centre are listed below.


  • You should carry two copies of CAT 2020 admit card, an ID proof (in original) and a pen to the exam centre.
  • Candidates need to produce the original copy of the CAT 2020 admit card to enter the exam centre.
  • Candidates are advised to follow the instructions given the organizers and cooperate in the identification process and frisking at the entry gate.
  • Visit the exam centre a day prior, to avoid been lost at the last moment.
  • It is advisable to use the Reference Number printed on the admit card to locate the exam hall.


  • The candidates should not carry any electronic items to the exam centre.
  • Test centre gates close 15 minutes prior to the exam commencement, thus it is advisable to not get late for the exam
  • It is also advisable for the candidates to not argue with test centre staff or other fellow candidates. Unpleasant and unruly behavior may invite disqualification
  • The candidates should not use the keyboard at any point of time during the exam, or your system will automatically get locked

  • In the interest of aspirants, it is advised to visit the test location at least a day before the CAT exam 2020. This will help them to get acquainted with the route of the journey.
  • Reaching the CAT 2020 Test Centre well-before the reporting time is essential.
  • Candidates must carry their admit card and other Id proof documents to CAT 2020 exam centre without fail.
  • Some test centers might not have space to hold the candidate's belongings. Therefore, aspirants have to manage these things.
  • Parking facilities might not be available in certain CAT test centers, so test-takers must plan their travel accordingly.

  • Step 6: Download: Click on the “Download CAT Admit Card 2020” button.

Q. When should I produce the Admit Card?

  • Ans: You must produce the admit card on the day of the exam at the CAT 2020 exam centre. Take a clear printout of the admit card and follow the instruction mentioned in it.

Q. May I carry calculators to the test center?

  • Ans: You are not allowed to carry a calculator to the exam center. However, you may use the on-screen calculator available on the computer screen.
