SHIATS Exam Pattern 2023: Marking Scheme, Negative Marking

SHIATS 2023 exam pattern is released so that the candidates need can attempt the questions from the booklets according to their SHIATS 2023 examination. The undergraduate can choose the medium of examination which can be English or Hindi but, the medium of exam for the postgraduate program is mandatorily in English. There is a negative marking for the answers which are marked wrong with a deduction of 1 mark for every wrong answer.

SHIATS Exam Pattern 2023 Highlights 

SHIAT 2023 exam pattern gives the candidate the basic information he/she should need to focus on when preparing for the SHIAT 2023 exam. Candidates can start preparing by going through SHIAT 2023 exam pattern only after he/she has verified SHIAT 2023 Eligibility and are assured of the other process as certified eligible.

Knowing the Exam Pattern gives the candidate a step ahead on which subject he or she should focus on when preparing for the exams and also the time duration for each exam paper. This prepares the candidate to plan accordingly on which questions to tackle when minor issues arise during the exam.

All candidates for admission to Undergraduate Programmes are required to attempt a total of 150 questions from the exam. Candidates are requested to go through the given details below as they prepare accordingly.

Test Booklets for Undergraduate Programs

The test booklets for SHIATS undergraduate programs are divided into subjects wise, the details for test booklets for undergraduate programs are mentioned below:

Undergraduate (UG)-1 (For the Subject Group Codes) PCM / PCB / PCMB / HBC group (A total of 150 Questions)

The details for undergraduate courses for subject codes PCM/PCB/PCMB/HBC are mentioned below:

Compulsory Section:

  • General Aptitude - 60 questions

Optional Section:

  • Physics - 30 questions
  • Mathematics - 30 questions
  • Biology - 30 questions
  • Home Science - 30 questions
  • Chemistry - 30 questions

Note:

  • Applicants of all the subject groups mentioned above are mandatorily required to attempt the compulsory section.
  • From the optional section, the candidates are required to attempt any three Subjects as per their qualifying examination and subject group code filled in the admission form.
  • The applicants are required to endeavour any three Subjects according to their qualifying examination and subject group code filled in the application form.

Undergraduate (UG)-2 (For the Subject Group Codes) AGRI/ARTS/COM (A total of 150 Questions)

The details for undergraduate courses for subject codes AGRI/ARTS/COM are mentioned below:

Compulsory Section:

  • General Aptitude - 60 questions

Optional Section:

  • Agriculture for AGRI - 90 questions or
  • Arts Subjects for ARTS - 90 questions or
  • Commerce Subjects for COM - 90 questions

Note:

  • Candidates of the above-mentioned subject group codes must attempt the compulsory section.
  • Anyone from the optional section from the Undergraduate Test booklet Undergraduate (UG)-2 as per their subject group code filled in the application form.

Test Booklets for Postgraduate Programmes (Postgraduate (PG), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).,& Master of Education (M.Ed))

  • All candidates for Postgraduate (PG) programs are required to attempt a total of 160 questions from the Postgraduate Section of the Postgraduate Booklet.
  • Candidates appearing for Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Master of Education (M.Ed) programs are required to attempt a total of 200 questions (i.e. 150 questions from the Postgraduate (PG) Section and 40 questions from the additional section), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). Section, Master of Education (M.Ed) section as per their qualifying examination and choice filled in the application form.

Postgraduate (PG) Section (For the Subject Group Codes) AGRI/HSC/BIO/ABF/SCI/OTH/ETE

Details for the postgraduate section for subject codes, AGRI/HSC/BIO/ABF/OTH/ETE are mentioned below:

Compulsory Section:

  • General Aptitude - 60 questions

Optional Section:

  • AGRI - 90 questions
  • BIO - 90 questions
  • ABF - 90 questions
  • HSC - 90 questions
  • SCI - 90 questions
  • OTH - 90 questions
  • ETE - 90 questions

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Section (Additional Section for  B.Ed)

Additional section for B.Ed includes:

  • Teaching Aptitude - 50 questions

Master of Education (M.Ed) Section (Additional Section for  M.Ed)

Masters of education section has:

  • Teaching Management - 50 questions

Important Notes:

  • The entrance Test for all Undergraduate (UG) programmes will be conducted in both Hindi and English languages.
  • The entrance Test for all Postgraduate (PG) programmes will be conducted in the English language only.
  • Negative Marking - For each wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted.
