KCET 2020 Exam Pattern

Exam Date : July 30, 2020 To July 31, 2020

Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will organize the KCET 2020, and has also provided the Exam Pattern for KCET 2020. The Karnataka CET 2020 examination will be held in two days in four sessions which include four subjects. The first day will be Biology and Mathematics in two sessions and the next day will be Physics and Chemistry in two sessions. KCET exam pattern is discussed in the section below.

KCET 2020 Exam Pattern

Each KCET 2020 paper will be for 60 marks. Questions will be of the objective type under KCET 2020. Candidates will score 1 mark for every correct answer. No negative marking is applicable for KCET Exam 2020. The questions are based on the KCET 2020 syllabus. A replica of the Optical Mark Reader sheet will be given to candidates, to marks the answer to the questions. A sample of OMR sheet will be put up on the KEA website @ www.kea.kar.nic.in.

  • Exam date and KLT test: The dates of KCET 2020 ae yet to be announced. Candidates who are seeking admission under Horanadu & Kannadiga clauses will have to answer a Kannada Language Test.

  • Scores and subjects: Candidates have to obtain 12 marks out of 50 marks. The questions will be asked of 4 subjects namely Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in KCET 2020. Each KCET 2020 paper will be of 60 marks.

  • Duration: The time duration of each paper is 1 hour 20 minutes for KCET 2020. The total time duration is 320 minutes for the whole exam. Each section will be given 80 minutes.

KCET 2020 Exam Pattern Important Points:

  • Number of Papers: Each day there will be two different papers which the candidates will have to answer in KCET 2020. Mathematics and Biology paper will be held on day 1 and Physics and Chemistry will be held on day 2.

  • Mode of Language: Candidates who are eligible for KCET 2020 will have to answer the question paper of Karnataka CET in either English or Kannada.

  • Duration of the Exam: Each paper of KCET 2020 will be of 1 hour 20 Minutes.

  • Mode of Exam: The KCET 2020 exam will be conducted in offline mode. Candidates will have to use either a blue or black ballpoint pen to select the right answer.

  • Type of questions: Candidates who have to appear for KCET 2020 will have to answer the multiple-choice questions by selecting the right answer in the KCET 2020 exam.

  • Negative Marks: There will be no Negative marking for KCET 2020 Exam.

  • Writing Mode: Candidates should use the Blue or Black ball point to mark the answers in Karnataka CET 2020 Examination.

  • Marking Scheme: Candidates appearing KCET Exam 2020 will be awarded 1 mark for every correct answer to the questions they have answered. There is no negative marking for any incorrect answer.

Karnataka CET (KCET) Exam Pattern 2017 is:

  • KCET 2017 exam pattern includes a number of questions, type of questions, marking scheme, language and other information for appearing candidates. Check below test pattern of KCET 2017 including test subjects, modalities and marking scheme -

  • KCET 2017 will be conducted separately for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics on two alternate days

  • Each section of KCET 2017 carries 60 marks

  • KCET 2017 question paper comprises objective type questions of one mark each

  • Each subject paper of KCET 2017 is allotted 80 minutes time duration and the test is scheduled to be conducted in two shifts.

  • Candidates appearing in KCET 2017 need to carry black or blue ball point pen to mark options in OMR sheet.

  • There is no negative marking for KCET 2017 i.e. In a case of wrong attempts, no marks will be deducted from total scored marks. Also, responding with more than one option will be considered as wrong and no marks will be awarded in such case.

Info on KCET 2017 for Medical Applicants

For candidates who are interested only in Medical and Dental courses, is it necessary to appear for Mathematics paper also?

No, if you are appearing only for Medical/ Dental course you can skip the Mathematics paper.

If you have scored 50% marks in II PUC PCB, (150 marks out of 300 marks 50% marks in PCB subjects of CET (90 marks out of 180 marks), then your rank will be declared for Medical/ Dental along with ISM&H. (40% of marks in both CET and IInd PUC)

In case of SC/ST/OBC 120 marks out of 300 marks and 72 out of 180 marks.

I am a Horanadu Kannadiga Candidate, but I have studied in Kannada medium from 1st to 10th standard outside Karnataka. Am I supposed to write the Kannada Language Examination?

No, you don't have to. You are exempted from the writing Kannada language exam applicable to Horanadu Kannadiga. You have to fill up the clause code as ā€˜nā€™ in your application.
