JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research was set up in 2008 in Mysore, Karnataka. It was formerly and popularly known as Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara University or JSS University, it is a private deemed to be a university. It mainly focuses on medical, life science and health-related studies.JSS University admission is done on the basis of qualifying examination results.

JSS University has 5 Constituent Colleges in Mysore and one Pharmacy College in Ootacamund, Tamil Nadu. It has more than 600 faculty members and around 2000 undergraduate and graduate students and around 300 research scholars. JSS University has been recognized by MHRD and accredited A+ grade by NAAC.

MBBS/ BDS	Candidates must have completed 10+2 in Science stream with PCB combination from recognized board. Must have valid score in NEET entrance exam.
B.Sc/ B.Sc [Life Sciences]/ B.Pharmacy	Candidates should have done 10+2 with PCM/B from a recognized board.
MD/ MS	Candidates must have cleared MBBS Must have valid score in NEET PG entrance exam.
MDS	Candidates must have cleared BDS from a recognized university.
M.Sc/ M.Sc [Life Sciences]	Candidates must have cleared B.Sc in relevant subject from recognized university.
MPH	Candidates must have cleared a Bachelor’s degree in Medical/ Dental/ Ayurveda/ Physiotherapy or Nursing from a recognized university.
