Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is an online counselling process conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, for undergraduate-level courses available at various state engineering colleges.
The candidates who satisfy TNEA eligibility criteria 2024 criteria will be required to complete their admission online by logging onto the official website with counselling and submitting their documents. TNEA 2024 Domicile Eligibility
Candidates who are citizens of India and have completed their 10+2 or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution can apply for TNEA. The candidate must either be a resident of Tamil Nadu or have been a resident of Tamil Nadu for at least five years to apply for the examination. In either case, the candidate has to produce a nativity certificate as proof.
Children/ wards of central government employees can also apply for TNEA provided that their parents show the certificate, proving that they have been living in Tamil Nadu for the last five years. Candidates who are children of All India Service Tamil Nadu Cadet Officers are also eligible for TNEA.
TNEA 2024 Educational Qualification
Candidates interested in appearing for TNEA should have completed their 10+2 from a recognized board in India with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Candidates belonging to the general category should have achieved 50% marks, OBC category students should have achieved 45% marks, and SC/ ST should have achieved 40% marks.
TNEA 2024 Age Limit
As per TNEA, the lower age limit for the examination is 18 years, and the upper age limit is 25 years. The candidate is considered eligible for the programs offered through TNEA only if they are within the said range.

TNEA 2024 counselling will commence after the merit list is made available on the official website. The list will be prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidate in 10+2. Then, candidates will be allotted the colleges in TNEA counselling 2024. For this purpose, candidates have to submit INR 5000 for general candidates and INR 2500 for SC/ST candidates.
