The TNEA results will be released by the Director of Technical Education Tamil Nadu once the TNEA 2021 Exams have been conducted. TNEA 2021 Exams are conducted so that candidates can get a B.E. or a B.Tech seat in engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. The results for TNEA 2021 will be declared around Sep 28, 2021. The admission to the course will be based on the results as well as the merit list prepared by the universities.
TNEA 2021 Results Highlights
The TNEA 2021 Results will be declared after the TNEA 2021 Exam have been conducted. The result will be declared a few days after the TNEA 2021 exam has been conducted. The tentative date for TNEA result announcement 2021 is Sep 28, 2021. The official notification announcing the dates for the examination has not been released as yet. The aspirants may have to wait till May, 2021 for the release of the official notification.
Note: Candidates must note that the results will be released in the form of TNEA Rank List 2021.
Candidates need to attend the TNEA 2021 counselling to complete the process of admissions to the desired course under TNEA after fulfilling all the eligibility criteria. The results will be hosted on the official TNEA website.
Procedure to check TNEA Rank List 2021
Candidates can use the following steps to get the TNEA Rank list 2021 after succesfully writing the TNEA 2021 Exam.
- The candidates have to visit the official site of TNEA
- Then click on the " Rank List" option given on the TNEA website
- Enter login credentials with the help of the TNEA admit card
- The TNEA rank list will be displayed on the next screen
- Download and take a printout of this TNEA rank list for future references
How is the TNEA Rank List 2021 prepared?
While preparing the TNEA rank list 2021, the ranks will be given to the students on the basis of three criteria.
- Scores secured in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the qualifying examination
- Date of Birth
- Category of the candidate
The TNEA exam conducting authority will reduce the total marks to 200 to rank students. Maximum weightage will be from Mathematics. The rest will be shared by Physics and Chemistry in the following form as given below.
- Physics + Chemistry= 100
- Mathematics= 100
As per the exam conducting authority, the marks obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by various boards or authority shall be equated with the marks obtained by the students in the same subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by the State Board of Tamil Nadu by adopting the method of normalisation.
TNEA Rank List 2021 Tie Breaking Rules
The TNEA exam conducting breaks a tie for 2 candidates who have scored equal marks in the TNEA 2021 exam by using the following rules.
- Percentage of marks in Mathematics
- Percentage of marks in Physics
- Percentage of marks in optional subject
- Based on age (with preference given to the older candidate)
- If tie persists at this stage, random numbers assigned to candidates will be used to break the deadlock

TNEA Counselling 2021
Candidates who's names are a part of the TNEA rank list will be called to participate in the counselling process. The TNEA counselling process will be conducted in online mode and the candidate will be called for the counselling as per the rank secured by them. In case a candidate is allotted any seat then he/ she will have to login to the TNEA counselling portal and pay the required initial fee of INR 5000 (SC,ST and SCA candidates need to pay only INR 1000). There will be a total four rounds of seat allotment.
