TANCET Ranks Allotment

Based on the candidate's performance on the exam, DTE, Chennai assigns TANCET ranks. The community rank is assigned based on the candidate's performance in their community. The candidate's rank is directly correlated with their TANCET percentile score. According to the TANCET rank list preparation, the highest score receives rank 1. In a similar manner, rank #2 is given to the second-highest scorer, and so forth.

Score Calculation for TANCET 2023

The applicants' exam scores are used to calculate their percentile scores for the TANCET 2022 exam. A 95 per cent score means that the candidate outperformed 95% of the test-takers on a specific course exam. The following equation can be used to determine the TANCET 2023 percentile score:
PERCENTILE SCORE FOR TANCET: (Y/N)*100

• Y represents all of the test takers who received a lower score.
• N is the overall test taker count for the TANCET exam.

Tie-Breaking Criteria for TANCET

As said, the exam score is considered for assigning TANCET ranks. There may be situations where two or more candidates receive the same TANCET exam score. DTE uses the procedure outlined below, in the sequence indicated, to break ties and assign ranks to such candidates:

• Candidates that received a higher average percentage of the qualifying degree's total marks from the first to the second-to-last semester.
• If there is still a tie, elder candidates will be given preference for rank distribution.
