Madras University Overview

Madras University was established following the model of London University.  It was one of the first 5 institutes to be considered as the University with Potential of Excellence [UPE] by the UGC and has been awarded grade A by NAAC. The 68 departments of the university are spread over four campuses organized into 18 schools. The university offers certificate/ diploma, UG and PG, and Ph.D. courses through the affiliated institutions which are spread over the districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, and Kancheepuram, and provides a choice-based credit system.

Madras University Admission

Madras University Scholarship

Madras University offers a variety of scholarships to students based on merit and keeping in mind their financial status. Apart from scholarship, the complete waiver of fees is granted to the poorest students in the PG course selected on the basis of merit of each PG course. The annual income of the parents of that student has to be less than INR 1,00,000.
