SNAP 2021 Counselling Highlights

SNAP counselling will be scheduled only for those applicants who have qualified for the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test and have their names on the merit list. It will be held only once, and the applicants need to attend the same as per the official SNAP admission schedule. It is the applicant's prime responsibility to stay updated about the official dates announced by the exam authorities. Details involved in SNAP admission criteria are specified as below:

Date: Candidates should be physically present at the venue of counselling which is scheduled to start from the #counselling_date tentatively.

Venue: As per the SNAP admission criteria, date, time and venue of the counselling will be announced and conducted by official authorities.

Seat Selection: During the SNAP admission process, candidates will have to fill their own choice of seats.

Documents: Candidates are requested to carry all the original certificates and two sets of attested photocopies of certificates in the counselling session. These documents will be verified as per the SNAP admission criteria.

Seat Allocation: As per the SNAP admission criteria, seats will be allotted by examination authority after the document verification process is completed.

Fee: Candidates must pay the provisional admission fee through a demand draft in favour of the University payable at Pune. As per the SNAP admission criteria, applicants have to apply for the waiting list and pay INR 1,00,000/- through a DD. In case the candidate does not get any seat allotted, the fee shall be returned to the candidate.

SNAP Admission Criteria 2021 

Candidates are advised to go through the pre-defined SNAP admission criteria carefully during the application process. After successfully qualifying for the SNAP exam, candidates go through a series of steps to secure their university seats. SNAP admission criteria include a few major stages that analyze the applicants' abilities and skillset after the SNAP result. The 3 major steps involved in the SNAP admission criteria are mentioned below:

  • Group Exercise
  • Personal Interview
  • Writing Ability

Applicant must perform equally well in all these rounds to ensure his/her admission to the program. Management institutes affiliated with SIU will have its GE-PI-WAT, which will be held at their respective campus as per the SNAP admission criteria. So, for the final round of selection, all shortlisted students will be required to visit the campuses.

SNAP Admission Criteria- Group Exercise

Group Exercise in the SNAP admission criteria will be marked for 10 marks. Those who own a clear and logical way of thinking with an ability to lead the team and mentor the group can score more in the Group Exercise stage of SNAP admission criteria. Important points related to the Group Exercise stage of SNAP admission criteria are mentioned below:

  • Group exercise aims to assess if the student can work as a part of a team during the academic period.
  • A student must develop reasoning and strong decision-making skills to clear the GE stage of SNAP.
  • An inclination to take charge is something that the organizers appreciate during the GE process. A student should showcase a positive attitude and make sure that his/her team members remain motivated.

SNAP Admission Criteria- Personal Interaction

SNAP Personal Interaction is the final step of the Counselling process, and it has a total weightage of 30 marks. Confidence, creativity, and an innovative bent of mind are the necessary parameters mentioned in the SNAP admission criteria, based on which the students will be evaluated.

  • SNAP interview process is designed to test the personality of the applicant. It is the interviewer's job to conduct a conversation with the applicant and examine his/her interpersonal skills. To successfully clear the PI round of the SNAP admission process, candidates can go through a few basic methods and ideas of preparations.
  • SNAP interview preparation methodology involves different techniques to prepare for some general questions like "Tell us something about yourself" and "What are your strengths and weaknesses ?". Also, the applicant should be able to justify everything that has been mentioned in his candidature. The candidate should also be able to present reasonable explanations for any discrepancies found.
  • The interviewer may also conduct a stress interview. In such a situation, the applicant must try to maintain his calm and respond with confidence. If a candidate can successfully face the pressure test, it proves his/her managerial worth to the panel team. SNAP Admission Criteria- Written Ability Test

Written ability test is a step of the final round involved in the SNAP admission criteria that carry 10 marks. The applicants are asked to write an essay about either a general or a business-related topic. Applicant's writing skills along with his/her knowledge and insights about the given subject are tested in this round of SNAP admission criteria. Applicants are advised to read newspapers, especially the business and economy sections, regularly to develop a versatile thinking process one should also develop the habit of reading books and magazines from various categories. Few general examples of topics assigned during the Written Ability Test are mentioned as below:

  • India’s foreign policy is dictated by the US.
  • Freedom of opinion can only exist when the government feels secure in itself.
  • Can India be ignored by the international community?
  • The Arab world will definitely have an impact on India.
  • Strong legislation would require effective enforcement.
  • Direct democracy instead of representative democracy can solve the problems of corruption.

SNAP Merit List 2021 

Once the procedures under SNAP admission criteria are covered and successfully cleared by the applicant, the official authorities give out the SNAP meri list containing the names of the candidates selected for admission into a particular institute under SIU. The SNAP merit list is prepared after analysing the marks scored in each step of the SNAP admission criteria and is made available on the official website of SIU. Absenteeism in any of the one component/test of SNAP admission criteria will lead to cancellation of the application.
