NEET UG Counselling 2020: Registration, Counselling Date and Procedure

After the results are announced the candidates who have cleared the exam will get a call letter for counselling. In the process of counselling, the candidate has the right to select the best colleges based on his/her rank in all India rankings. NEET 2020 counselling process is discussed in detail below. Those candidates who score less than the required percentage will not be allowed to sit for the counselling.

NEET 2020 counselling will be held from the June 18, 2021 counselling process will start after the results are out. Only the students who crack the exam will be called for counselling.

Latest Updates:

  • November 28, 2020: The provisional second round seat allotment list for NEET 2020 is released today. The link to check the list is provided below.
  • November 20, 2020: The registration process for the second round of the NEET UG 2020 Counselling starts today. Candidates can start registering through the counselling portal and the last date to do so is November 23, 2020.
  • November 18, 2020: NEET UG 2020 Counselling Round 2 Registration is delayed and will start from November 20, 2020. The facility to surrender the seat allotted in round 1 is also extended to November 19, 2020.

NEET 2020 Counselling Procedure

NEET 2020 All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling will be conducted by MCC (Medical Counseling Committee) while State Counselling will be conducted by the respective state exam authority.

  • You will have to register for participating in NEET 2020 Counselling. You can register by visiting the official website of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) i.e. (www.mcc.nic.in).
  • After the results of NEET, 2020 has been declared, the cut off will be released for qualified candidates to participate in the NEET 2020 counselling.
  • Candidates will be admitted based on NEET 2020 rank. Candidates will be allowed to choose a college during the counselling process. However, seat allotment will be based on availability.
  • The eligible candidates will have to go through two rounds of counselling.
  • All India Quota Counselling is conducted by MCC (Medical Counseling Committee) while State Counselling will be conducted by the respective state exam authority.
  • All aspirants must carry the required documents for the counselling process like 10th and 12th marks card, photo, valid ID, etc.
  • Candidates need to be present at the mentioned location on the specified date for the offline process of counselling.
  • NEET 2020 counselling will be conducted in two rounds for 15% All India Quota seats. While for the Central & Deemed Universities and ESIC colleges, the counselling will be conducted in three rounds. The counselling result of NEET 2020 will be released in the form of the seat allotment list and seat allotment letter.

Registration for NEET 2020 Counselling

Registration for NEET 2020 Counselling based on each round is given below

Step 1: Online Registration: 

  • Details: You will have to provide details like roll number, name, date of birth, mobile number, and email address to initiate the registration process for NEET 2020.
  • Generation of credentials: Upon successful registration, Login ID & Password are generated and sent to the registered mobile number & email ID.
  • Login: For the further process, you can log in with the login ID & password which you receive after registration is done. 

Step 2: Selection & Locking: 

  • Selection of courses: You will have to select the course of your preference.
  • Selection of college: You are also supposed to provide your selection preferences for college.

Step 3: Seat Allotment: 

  • Rounds: The process of seat allotment is conducted in three rounds.
  • Allotment: You will be allocated seats based on your rank in NEET 2020 and choices provided during the online registration for the counselling process.
  • Exceptions: In addition to centralized counselling, few deemed institutes may organize their own counselling procedure.
  • Reporting: After the seat allotment, You will have to report to the college for admissions.

Round 2

  • Step 1: New Registration for Round 2 of Counselling.
  • Step 2: Fresh choice filling and locking for Round 2.
  • Step 3: Seat allotment result of Roud 2.
  • Step 4: Reporting college based on the Round 2 allotment result.

NEET 2020 15% All India Quota Counselling

Information on online counselling can be obtained from the official website of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Medical Counselling Committee of the Directorate-General of Health Services conducts Online counselling after the NEET 2020 Results are declared. If you are ranked in Merit/ Waiting List after the NEET 2020 Results, then you are advised to read the counselling information carefully. Candidates can select the choices and lock it but once it is locked it cannot be changed or unlocked. Candidates can change the choices any number of times before locking it.
