Manipal Academy of Higher Education Overview

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education [MAHE], former name Manipal University, was established in 1953 and is located in Manipal, Karnataka. It is one of the largest private universities with arms spreading nationally and internationally, its national branches are in Mangalore, Bengaluru, Sikkim, and Jaipur, and its international branches are in Nepal, Antigua, Dubai, and Malaysia. 300+ programs are offered by this university. The Manipal campus is diverse and has students from 57 countries studying harmoniously there.

Since its inception, MAHE has won many awards and recognition. Manipal University has been ranked 97th among BRICS universities as the “top private university for research” in the country. Manipal University has also won the prestigious IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award and the International Asia Pacific Quality Award in 2007-2008. Manipal Academy of Higher Education Admission

MAHE admission is based on an entrance examination which is conducted by Manipal, MET. Admission is currently open for courses. The mode of the examination is online and is a Computer Based Test. Students can take admitted to the Manipal Academy of Higher Education by filling up the online application form with the correct details on the official website. The BDS admission depends upon the eligibility and valid test score of the NEET-UG examination. Admission to other courses at the University is based on scores on the Manipal Entrance Test and eligibility criteria.

MAHE Eligibility Criteria

Manipal Academy of Higher Education offers various courses in many fields of engineering, science, and pharmacy, to name a few. Admission to the courses is based on eligibility criteria. MAHE B.Tech Eligibility

  • The candidate should have passed 10+2 examinations with Physics, Maths, and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology or any technical subject as optional from a recognised board.

MAHE MBA Eligibility

  • The candidate should have passed a Bachelor's degree in any course with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from any recognized University. 
  • A valid test score in MAT/ XAT/ CAT/ CMAT/ GMAT exam.

MAHE M.Tech Eligibility

  • The candidate should have passed a B.Tech degree in the desired field with at least 50% marks.

MAHE Cut Off

Manipal Academy of Higher Education cut off 2021 will release after the results of the CAT/ NEET-UG exam will be out. The cut off is released every academic year during admission time for different courses. The B.Tech cut off rank is 1893 in MET. The MET cut-off 2021 will be released in May 2021. The cut off of MET is decided based on the following criteria.

  • The number of candidates who appeared for the entrance examination.
  • Level of difficulty of the examination
  • The number of seats available for the course.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education Result

MAHE results for admission to medical courses such as MBBS, BDS, MD, MS, etc will be announced after the results of NEET-UG/PG are announced. The date of commencement of classes is to be announced by the university. The last date of application for most of the courses is in May 2021. Current students can check their marks by logging in to the website.

Hostel Details

Every hostel of the University is separated into three grounds. The inns of medical schools are assembled under Chief Warden; the inns of designing, are gathered under Chief Warden. College Infrastructure
  • There are 10 hostels for girls and 12 for boys. The fees depend on the type of the accommodation. it ranges from a single room (non ac) to triple room and same for the AC rooms.
  • Pgs are very less in number and are in outskirts so, it is preferred to take accommodation in the hostels.
  • The quality of food is hygienic and good. it cost up to Rs.130 for the 4 meals, including- breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner
  • Classrooms are well furnished with air conditioned in Manipal Academy of Higher Education, [MAHE] Manipal.

The main student clubs in college are the Manipal Journal (news website), Manipal the Talk Network (media website), Kalamanch (drama), and the Burning Ice (modeling).

Main events on campus are Article 19 (the college fest) and Proverb (debating tournament).

Life in college is average, and only a few students are friendly and helpful.

College Infrastructure

There are more than ten hostels for students. Rent on apartments outside generally depends on the quality of the apartment. The rent of a 2 BHK apartment can usually cost between INR 14,000 and 18,000 rupees per month.

There are around five messes. The classrooms are of excellent quality. They are air-conditioned, have sturdy desks, and projectors. The labs and libraries are well equipped too.

Classes start at 9 am in the morning. 12 - 2 pm break is available. 2 - 5 pm, labs classes. The course has 6 semesters. The last semester is dedicated to doing a research project. The teaching is good.

College Infrastructure

There are many hostels, within the campus. Hostel fee varies depending on the room availed. Single or double room/ AC or non AC. The fee varies from INR 45000 to 150000 depending on the room. Food is just amazing everywhere. The classrooms, labs, libraries and the mess, are all good.
