Government Medical College Thrissur, established in 1982, is a premier medical education institution in Kerala, located on a 250-acre campus in Mulagunnathukavu, 14 km from Thrissur. Initially functioning at the veterinary college in Mannuthy, it moved to its permanent campus in 1983, utilizing modified TB Sanatorium buildings. The college offers healthcare services to three Kerala districts and neighboring Tamil Nadu. Major milestones include the construction of a 300-bed hospital in 1987 and a 400-bed facility in 1995. The college is accredited by IMC in 1991 and WHO in 1993 and it started MD Radiodiagnosis and General Medicine courses in 1997 and 2004 respectively. Clinical departments shifted to a new hospital complex in 2005. The institution, affiliated with KUHS since 2009, celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 2007, continuing its legacy of excellence in education and healthcare.

GMC Eligibility Criteria

GMC Thrissur follows a criteria to be followed by the students willing to pursue admission and get eligible for the courses they are looking for. The eligibility critersi along with the duration is tabulated below:

GMC Admissions

Students seeking admission to the college must fulfil the eligibility criteria. Admissions are based on the merit in the NEET UG and NEET PG entrance exams. The students need to go through the counselling process after qualifying in NEET.

Application Procedure:

For NEET UG, Candidates need to register online at https://ntaneet.nic.in/.
Application fee could be paid online and offline.
The application fee is INR 1400 for General and OBC category candiates and for ST/SC candidates, the fee is INR 750.
For NEET PG, Candidates need to register online at https://cdn3.digialm.com/EForms/configuredHtml/1815/63104/Index.html
Application fee could be paid online through net-banking or debit/credit card.
The application fee is INR 3750 for General/OBC category candidates and for ST/SC candidates is INR 2750.
After clearing any of the both NEET exams, the candidates need to appear for counselling/interview as mandated from time to time.
