AIIMS, New Delhi started AIIMS PG 2022 Counselling for all the 7 AIIMS after the declaration of AIIMS PG 2022 result. For a successful counselling process go through this article. In this article, we explained everything you will be required. 

AIIMS PG Counselling 2022 Highlights

Candidates will be shortlisted for the counselling rounds totally based on their entrance exam rank and secured score. Those who secure the qualifying marks which has been set according to categories will be allowed for the counselling events. The counselling procedure includes registration, verification, seat allotment, and reporting. Find the dates and events pertaining to the same below.

 AIIMS PG 2022 Counselling Procedure

The counselling procedure is made online for candidates to have a smooth process as they complete the admission process. Candidates will have to physically produce documents to the institution after seat allotment is done. Find the steps to register for the counselling process below.

Step 1: Registration for AIIMS PG Counselling

  • To register, log in to the ‘My Page’ Portal.
  • Enter your AIIMS PG login credentials i.e. your ID and password.
  • Click on the ‘Online Counselling’ link.
  • Register again for the AIIMS PG counselling portal using a new password.
  • This link will be active for a stipulated time period only.

Step 2: Exercising Choice Locking

  • This option will be offered for every round of counselling.
  • Log in again to the ‘Online Counselling’ portal using the new credentials.
  • Click on the ‘Make Choices’ button.
  • Click on ‘Add choice’ and choose the AIIMS institutes and subjects you want to study further.
  • To remove any choice, click on the ‘Delete’ tab.

Step 3: Submitting and Locking Choices

  • After making all the choices, Submit and Lock the same.
  • Candidates must also tick the checkbox saying ‘I accept the declaration’.
  • This box will appear twice so as to reconsider the choices made the same.
  • In case, a candidate is not able to submit and lock the choices, then the last saved choices will be selected automatically.

Step 4: Viewing and Printing the Choices

  • After all the steps, candidates will be able to view their final choices submitted and locked by them.
  • Click on the ‘View Choices’ button in the online counselling portal to view the same.
  • Take a print of the same for future reference.

Documents Required for AIIMS PG 2022 Counselling

Document verification is an important and mandatory process in the steps of counselling. Candidates will have to produce the list of documents mentioned below if applicable to them. Find the list in the points given below. 

  • Permanent/Provisional Registration Certificate issued by MCI or DCI/ State Medical or Dental Council
  • Proof of Date of Birth
  • A valid SC/ST/OBC/ Physical Disability Certificate issued by the competent authority
  • AIIMS PG 2022 Admit Card
  • AIIMS PG 2022 Rank Letter/ Score Card
  • MBBS/ BDS 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Exam Mark sheets
  • MBBS/ BDS Degree Certificate
  • Counselling Call Letter
  • Registration Slip

AIIMS PG 2022 Online Counselling

In each category, the number of candidates called for online seat allocation/ counselling will be 8 times the number of seats. The sponsored/Foreign National candidates are not required to participate in the Online Counselling/Seat Allocation process. The seat allocation process was already done in the result notification.

  • The candidate who already confirms the seat has to go to the respective AIIMS for Verification. In that verification process, the Institute will verify all the documents along with Biometric Verification.
  • In case there is any doubt about identity during such verification, such candidates will not be allowed to participate in the further round of counselling.
  • All the candidates must bring the original certificates at the time of joining i.e. “Offer Letter, Date of birth (matriculation certificate), proof of belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC (if applicable), MBBS/ BDS mark sheets (including separate mark sheet for each of the professional examinations), Degree, Internship Completion Certificate, Permanent Medical Registration Certificate, etc.”
  • The selected candidates shall undergo a medical examination by the Board appointed by the Institute and if found medically fit will join the course after depositing the requisite fee. Last date of admission August 2022 (tentative) beyond which no candidate will be admitted. The candidate selected & allotted a confirmed seat must join by the date given in the admission letter.
  • While reporting for admission, candidates must bring all the relevant certificates/ documents, in the original. These original documents will be kept with the institute until his/ her completion of the course. In case the candidate required any document then the institute will provide a valid reason. And the candidate has to return back the document after work is done.
  • No TA/DA will be paid by the Institute to the candidate for appearing in the entrance examination and for attending the joining the course.
  • Please note that the candidates who have already joined/pursuing MD/ MS/ MDS in any subject at the time of counselling shall be considered for counselling of MD/MS/MDS courses. Those who have already done MD/ MS/ M.Ch.(6 years)/ DM (6 years)/ MDS are not eligible.
  • Candidate must have Provisional OR Permanent Registration of MCI/DCI for Online Final Registration. Those who have not registered with the Medical/ Dental Council of India are not eligible to apply AIIMS PG Entrance Examination.
  • The schedule and process of 1st, 2nd & 3rd Round of Online Seat Allocation/ Counselling, allocation of seats, etc. will be notified separately on the website www.aiimsexams.org
  • All disputes pertaining to the conduct of the examination by the AIIMS, and the allocation of seats in various subjects by counselling will be subject to the jurisdiction in the High Court of Delhi.

AIIMS PG 2022 Open Counselling

There will be Open Counselling for the seats that remain vacant after 3rd Round of Online Seat Allocation or Open Counseling. In addition to that, any seat vacated by the candidate who had been allotted a confirmed seat in 1st/2nd/3rd Round of Online Seat Allocation/ Counseling, by way of surrender resignation/ cancellation/ mismatch of biometric verification, etc. will be included in the vacant seats available as mentioned in the preceding point for Open Counselling. The list of all the vacant seats including seats vacated as mentioned above will be displayed on AIIMS.

  • The number of seats displayed at the time of declaration of result shall be final for admission in that session. No seat shall be added after the declaration of the result.
  • Any seat falling vacant after the declaration of result will be advertised in the next session i.e. January 2022.
  • The candidates who are interested in attending open counselling on the scheduled date will be required to register themselves online for Open Counselling on the AIIMS website i.e.www.aiimsexams.org. On the day of counselling they will have to produce a printout of the slip issued to them at the time of online registration for open counselling along with all original certificates of qualification.
  • Spot Counselling If seats are vacant after open counselling, the seats will be filled by spot counselling at the respective AIIMS separately & information will be given in the newspaper & will also be displayed on the website of the respective AIIMS. The date will be decided later on by the respective AIIMS if required.

Note: Candidates will not be allowed to attend open counselling without the production of print out of registration slip issued for open counselling at the time of online registration.

Candidate applying under the OBC category must possess a valid caste certificate issued within the last one year by the competent authority & before the date of 1st counselling. The certificate must be valid for admission in Central Govt. Institution.

AIIMS PG 2022 Counselling Reservation of Seats

The general reservation of seats is discussed as follows. 49.5% of the total Post-Graduate seats (15% for SC, 7.5% ST and 27% for OBC) excluding those for Sponsored/Foreign National candidates are reserved for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and the Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy layer).

Reservation for the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD)

For MD/ MS

  • As per provisions of the Rights of the Persons with Disabilities Act. 2016 Five percent of seats shall be reserved for Persons (Indian nationals) with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) The reservation will be provided on a horizontal basis, as per their rank in order of merit in the examination.
  • Vacant seats, if any, shall be offered to the candidate from the general/relevant category.

For MDS

  • As per the 100-point roster, the number of seats reserved for Persons (Indian Nationals) with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) for the July 2022 session will be announced later.

Criteria for the Person with Benchmark Disability (PWBD) (Common to AIIMS, New Delhi & Eight other AIIMS)

In accordance with the provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, 5% seats of the annual sanctioned intake capacity shall be filled up by candidates with benchmark disabilities, based on the merit list of AIIMS PG Entrance Examination, July/ January session.

  • For this purpose, the Specified Disability contained in the Schedule to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
  • The candidate must possess a valid document certifying his/ her physical disability.
  • The disability certificate should be certified by a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board of the State or Central Govt. Hospitals/ Institutions.
  • All PWBD candidates shall be evaluated by a Medical Board of the Institute to determine eligibility.
