  • About IBSAT: IBSAT is one of the most popular and prominent university level entrance examinations in India. The IBSAT 2018 Examination is an entrance test that the ICFAI Business School conducts.

  • Conducting body: The IBSAT exam is applicable for those who wish to pursue MBA and PGPM in B-schools that ICFAI offers. The authority for IBSAT is the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education in Hyderabad.

Q: What is the qualification required to get admission in MBA program through IBSAT?

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% aggregate for admission into MBA programme.

Q: Should a candidate have a valid TOFEL/IELTS score to be eligible for IBSAT?

Candidates should have studied their Bachelor's and Master's degree in English language. If this condition is not satisfied then the candidate should produce a valid TOFEL/IELTS scorecard.

Q: What must be the qualification of a candidate to gain admission into PhD in Management?

For a candidate to get admission in PhD in Managment through IBSAT, he/she must have a Bachelor's degree (any discipline) and a Master's degree in the field of Marketing, Finance, etc. with a minimum of 55% aggregate.

Q: Are candidates called for counselling only based on IBSAT score?

No. Candidates with a valid score in GMAT, CAT, NMAT by GMAC are also called for counselling.

Q: What are the criteria considered during the selection process?

Candidates will be selected based on their score in IBSAT, group discussion and personal interview. Candidate's score in their Bachelor's and Master's degree will also be considered.

Q: How will candidates get their counselling call letter?

Candidates will receive their counselling call letter via post. It cannot be downloaded from the official website.

Q: Where does the counselling process take place?

Counselling process for IBSAT will happen in IBS campuses.

Q: What is the pattern for IBSAT?

The question paper has 4 sections. Namely, Data Adequacy and Data Interpretation, Quantitative Techniques, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary Ability. There are 140 multiple choice questions in total.

Q: What is the marking scheme of IBSAT?

For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded one mark and there will be no negative marking.

Q: What is the application form fee?

The application form fee for IBSAT is INR 1800.

  • Entrance is through IBSAT/CAT score for Hyderabad Campus. 
  • For candidates who have good overall personality and are not very strong in written, I would recommend taking IBSAT. 
  • IBSAT has 25% weightage only and the balance 75% is distributed in your past academic score, Interview, GD performance. 
  • Since IBS has many campuses, IBSAT typical cut-off is low so if you perform well in the later evaluations. There is a good probability of getting a seat in Hyderabad campus.

Yes, they do.

IBS Bussiness School/The Icfaian Foundation considers the scores to IBSAT 2016/CAT, GMAT, NMAT, XAT (2014 onwards)/MAT, CMAT 2016/State Level Test Scores 2016 for admission to various Management programs in their institutes.
