PGPM Entrance Exams:

PGPM Course Admission:

The common process for admissions into this course involves two phases namely the merit-based system and common entrance tests.

  • Many colleges consider the marks secured by a candidate in the entrance to judge his or her caliber.
  • Students are required to clear the entrance exams at least with the minimum marks required as per decided criteria for admission by the College.
  • After the test results selected candidates are called for giving interviews and for the counseling session.
  • After the above process a final list of students is prepared and selected candidates are asked to deposit fees for the first semester.

Difference Between MBA and PGPM:

Masters in business administration or MBA is a  postgraduate level degree program which is only offered by recognized colleges or colleges which are affiliated by different universities. All such Colleges follow a single curriculum which is designed by higher authorities and offer other degree courses at graduation and doctorate level.  PGPM is a diploma course at the level of post-graduation.  This course is offered by those Colleges which are not recognized or they are recognized for offering degrees.
MBA as a degree course has gained a lot of popularity amongst masses as people consider it as offering higher value than others. Diploma courses no matter how much knowledge they are offering are still considered taboo. It is a common misconception in the minds of common people that a diploma is of lesser value.
MBA Colleges are affiliated by different universities and so they follow a particular curriculum and they can not go beyond that. They do get updated with their curriculum but that is not in their hands.  Colleges offering PGPM courses enjoy autonomy in designing the curriculum of the courses they are offering as they are not affiliated with any other university. They get updated with the current scenario of industries and management.
In terms of job opportunities, skilled candidates get enough opportunities.  As far as job positions and opportunities are considered there is no such difference between PGPM and MBA.  The only thing that really matters is the experience and skill set of candidates.
