JEE Main Exam Paper Analysis 2023: Check Exam Analysis

The exam paper analysis for the JEE Main 2023 slot-wise will be available after the exam is over for each session. JEE Main is a national-level entrance exam arranged for admissions to undergraduate courses at IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), NITs (National Institute of Technology), and other technical institutions across the country. JEE Mains 2022 Paper Analysis (July Session)

The JEE Main phase 2 was held from July 25, 2022 to July 30, 2022. The exam was held for two slots, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. The paper analysis of each session is updated here as and when the exam was held.

July 30, 2022 - Slot 2 - 3.00 PM to 6.00 PM

Slot 2 of day 6 JEE Main was conducted for B.Arch and B.Plan courses, from 3 PM to 6 PM. Cabdidates mentioned the exam to be moderately difficulty.

The complexity of the Mathematics section was moderate to difficult.
The drawing section was claimed to be moderately easy.
The aptitude test's difficulty level was relatively moderate.

July 30, 2022 - Slot 1 - 9.00 AM to 12.00 PM

Day 6 of JEE Main was on July 30 and was conducted for B.Arch and B.Plan courses. Slot 1 of the exam was conducted from 9 AM to 12 PM. The exam ranged from moderate to difficult.

The Mathematics section's complexity was moderate to difficult, with Co-ordinate Geometry and Vectors as topics with more weightage.
The drawing section was deemed to be easy.
Complexity of Aptitude test was said to be moderate.

July 29, 2022 - Slot 2 - 3.00 AM to 6.00 PM

The JEE Main day 5 slot 2 was conducted from 3 PM to 6 PM. The exam was moderate in difficulty level.

The questions were theoretical and conceptual in the Physics section.
Chemistry section was claimed to be the easiest of all.
Questions were Mathematical Reasoning, Co-ordinate Geometry and Statistics were asked in mathematics, and the section was the hardest of all three.

July 29, 2022 - Slot 1 - 9.00 AM to 12.00 PM

On July 29, slot 1 of the sixth day of JEE Main exam was conducted from 9 AM to 12 PM. The exam's complexity level was moderate to difficult, with Mathematics being the most difficult section of the three.

The Physics section had questions about semiconductors, communication and electricity.
The most specific section was Chemistry, and a significant part of the questions was from inorganic chemistry.
The most challenging section of Mathematics had questions from Parabola, Integration and Mathematical Reasoning.

July 28,2022 - Slot 2 - 3.00 PM to 6.00 PM

The JEE Main day 4 slot 2 exam was conducted on July 28 from 3 PM to 6 PM. The candidates proclaimed that the exam's complexity was from moderate to difficult.

The Physics questions were majorly asked from modern physics, semiconductors and kinetic waves.
The easiest of the subjects was Chemistry.
The candidates found the Mathematics section lengthy and complex, especially the numerical questions.

July 28, 2022 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The first slot for the July 27, slot 1 of the JEE Main was successfully conducted from 9 AM to 12 PM. As per the initial reactions of the students, this slot seems to have been of a moderate level of difficulty. Most students also reported that they got the questions that they were expecting during their preparation process.

Physics questions were moderately difficult. Most of the questions were from Modern Physics and Semiconductors.
The Mathematics section was claimed to be difficult.
In chemistry, organic chemistry had more weightage. The paper was claimed to be easy.

July 27, 2022 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

JEE Main session II day 3 slot 2 exam was successfully held following the necessary guidelines from 3 PM to 6 PM. According to the candidates, the exam was moderate to difficult in difficulty level.

The candidates explained there were no formula based questions from Physics. Besides, the questions were difficult and lengthy.
Mathematics questions were lengthy but moderate. Mathematics section's questions concentrated on Calculus, Hyperbola, Parabola, Reasoning, and more.
Chemistry was moderate in difficulty level. Questions from Biomolecules, Polymers, and Common Chemistry were asked.

July 27, 2022 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

JEE Main July 27, 2022, shift 1, was successfully held from 9 AM to 12 PM. The question paper consisted of 90 questions, out of which candidates were asked to attempt 75 questions. According to the candidates, the Physics and Chemistry sections were easy compared to Mathematics.

The Physics questions were mostly from theoretical and conceptual in nature. Candidates mentioned there weren't many formula based questions.
Organis]c chemistry held more weightage in the exam. Polymer, biomolecules, and other topics are among the questions included in the question paper. A numerical question from physical chemistry was there.

July 26, 2022 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

The slot 2 JEE Main session 2 concluded at 6 PM on July 26, 2022. The paper was claimed to be moderate. The question paper consisted of 90 questions, out of which candidates were asked to attempt 75 questions.

The mathematics questions were moderately difficult. Most of the questions were from coordinate complex and vector 3D.
The physics questions were comparatively easy.
The chemistry questions were moderate, and questions were from both physical and organic chemistry.

July 26, 2022 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

On the second day of JEE Main phase 2, slot 1 was successfully conducted from 9 AM to 12 PM. Candidates found the paper to be moderately difficult. Candidates are required to solve 90 questions. 30 questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, respectively.

Physics questions were from Thermodynamics, Semiconductors, Electromagnetic Waves, Current Electricity, and Numericals. Candidates mentioned it to be the easiest among the other two subjects.
The chemistry paper was easy to moderate according to the candidates. The questions were from NCERT, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, p-Block elements, and Polymers.

July 25, 2022 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Slot 2, July 25, 2022, exam was held from 3 PM to 6 PM. The candidates claimed the exam to be moderate. The physics and maths papers were exclaimed as moderately difficult, and the chemistry paper was declared comparatively easy.

There were 30 questions from Physics, and attempting 20+ questions will be considered a good attempt. Additionally, most of the questions were from Logic Gates, Communication System, and Capacitors.
In Mathematics, most of the questions were from Probability, Coordinate geometry, Mathematical Reasoning, Sets, and Integration. Candidates found the paper to be moderately difficult.
The chemistry questions were from different sections, and candidates claimed it to be easy. Questions were concentrated on Hybridization, Polymers, Organic & Inorganic Chemistry, and Chemical Bonding.

July 25, 2022 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

JEE Main session 2, day 1, slot 1, was successfully conducted from 9 AM to 12 PM. The question paper consisted of 90 questions, out of which candidates were asked to attempt 75 questions. As per the candidates, the Mathematics section was lengthy compared to Physics and Chemistry sections.

JEE Main 2022 shift 1 exam's Physics section was easy to moderately difficult. Semiconductor, Air Conditioning, Communication Systems, and other JEE Main-specific topics were among the questions.
JEE Main 2022 shift 1 Chemistry section's overall difficulty level was low. NCERT was the basis for every question. The subjects covered in the questions were polymer, Chemistry in Daily Life, Block Chemistry, and Chain Chemistry.

JEE Mains 2022 Paper Analysis (June Session)

JEE Main will be held twice in 2022. The first phase exam commenced on June 23, 2022, and ended on June 29, 2022. All the candidates were advised to prepare well and follow the books recommended by the organizing authorities.

Candidates should attempt 25 questions from each section. 4 marks will be allotted to each correct answer, and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

The overall difficulty level was moderate, as claimed by the students.

JEE Main phase I last day slot 1 exam was successfully arranged. The questions were from Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. There were 90 questions, out of which candidates had to attempt 75: 25 questions from each section.

The chemistry questions included inorganic chemistry, equilibrium, polymers, the periodic table, biomolecules, and NCERT. Candidates expressed that the paper was easy to moderate.
The mathematic questions were difficult and lengthy. The questions included limits, statistics, mathematical reasoning, probability, hyperbola, binomial theorem, and calculus.
The physics questions included communication systems, thermodynamics, semiconductors, capacitors, and current electricity.
The overall difficulty level was moderate for day 6, slot 1.

June 28, 2022 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

JEE Main phase I day 6, slot 2 exams concluded at 6 PM. 90 questions were asked in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. 30 questions were from each section, among which 25 questions were to be answered from each section. For each correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded, with a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer.

The physics questions were moderate. Questions were mostly about mechanics, electrodynamics, modern physics, ray optics, and electromagnetic waves.
The chemistry paper was easy to moderate. The questions were mixed from organic, inorganic, physical chemistry, and chemical reactions.
The mathematics questions were moderately difficult and lengthy. Questions from parabola & hyperbola and coordinates were there.

June 28, 2022 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

NTA successfully conducted JEE Main phase I day 6, slot 1 examination on June 28, 2022, from 9 AM to 12 PM. Candidates reported the paper to be moderately difficult. Following the JEE Main exam pattern, there were questions from Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. The second shift of day 5 of the JEE Main second session was successfully conducted on June 27, 2022, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The overall paper was easy to moderate, as reported by many students.

The physics section was moderate in difficulty level, and the questions were on rational motion, electric current, semiconductors, and thermodynamics.
The mathematics section was comparatively tough and lengthy. The questions were mostly about integration, differentials, limits, hyperbola, and parabola.
The question for chemistry was mixed in physical, organic, inorganic, and environmental chemistry. The candidates claimed the paper was easy to moderate.

Day 5, slot 1 JEE Main 2022 exam was conducted successfully following all the covid-19 guidelines. According to the JEE Main exam pattern, there were 30 questions from each section: Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. Apart from MCQs, there were 10 NAT questions; out of that, 5 were to be attempted.

Candidates asserted that the paper was moderate to difficult.
The mathematics paper was lengthy and moderately tough. Questions included topics like conic section, ellipse, straight line, circle, and trigonometry.
The physics questions were moderately difficult. The questions were mostly from semiconductors, login gates, transistors, current electricity, communication, electrostatic, and potential difference.
The chemistry section was moderate as well. Organic chemistry held more weightage. Most of the questions were about biomolecules, polymers, chemistry in everyday life, s & p block, and metallurgy.

June 26, 2022 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

The official authorities successfully conducted the exam for day 4, slot 2. The question paper was 300 marks for 3 hours. Candidates were asked to attempt any 25 questions out of 30 from Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

Candidates mentioned the it was easy to moderate.
The mathematics questions were tough and lengthy. Most questions were from binomial theorem, permutation & combination, derivatives, reasoning, algebra, probability, mathematical reasoning, statistics, and limits.
The physics questions were about communication, capacitors, current electricity, quantum physics, kinematics, electrostatic waves, modern physics, and semiconductors. The candidates expressed it to be a moderately difficult paper.

June 26, 2022 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Day 4 slot 1 exam for JEE Main 2022 was expressed to be ranging from easy to moderate. Most of the questions were based on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. However, it was evident that this depended on the students' level of preparation.

The physics questions were moderate in difficulty level. Most questions were from magnetism, electrostatics, current electricity, modern physics, rotational motion, heat & thermodynamics, and kinematics.
Chemistry was comparatively easier than Physics. Most of the questions were from polymers. Most of the questions were NCERT-based, and organic chemistry had less weightage. Questions came from everyday use of chemistry, mole concept, s – block & p- block, and coordination chemistry.
Candidates expressed the mathematics was difficult and lengthy compared to Physics and Chemistry. Most of the questions were from the calculus and conic sections. There were also questions from 3D geometry, matrices, mathematical reasoning, functions, limits, the area under curves, definite integrals, parabolas, ellipses, and circles.

June 25, 2022 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

The day 3 slot 2 JEE Main exam was exclaimed to be easy to moderate. The exam was held in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The total marks for the exam were 300, and candidates were given 180 minutes to solve the papers. Questions were asked under two sections - Section A with MCQ type questions and Section B with numerical based. Out of 10 NAT questions, candidates had to attempt any 5.

Candidates found the overall difficulty of the paper to be easy to moderate.
Questions from physics were moderate to easy. The questions were asked from the optical instrument, electromagnetic waves, communication systems, kinematics and others.

June 25, 2022 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

JEE Main session I, day 3, slot 1 exam was completed for B.Tech. The exam paper had 300 marks questions in total from 3 subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each section had 30 questions, and candidates needed to attempt 25 questions from each section.

Candidates exclaimed that the paper was moderately difficult.
The chemistry questions were claimed to be easy. Most questions were about biomolecules, chemistry in everyday life, inorganic chemistry, and surface chemistry. Inorganic had higher weightage compared to physical chemistry and organic.
The mathematics paper was difficult and lengthy. Most of the questions were from vectors, matrices, probability, 3D geometry, and complex numbers in algebra. Additionally, questions were based on class 11 and 12 topics.
The physics paper for the exam was marked as moderate by the candidates. More questions centred on class 11 topics than class 12. There were inquiries regarding rotational motion, work-energy, optics, quantum theory, electromagnetism, and electrostatic waves. June 24, 2022 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

JEE Main session I day 2 slot 2 exam was successfully held following the covid-19 protocol from 3 PM to 6 PM. The candidates reviewed the paper as moderately difficulty. Similar to slot 1, there were 90 questions in total. 30 questions from each section: Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics, from which candidates were supposed to attend 25 from each section.

The mathematics questions were moderate to difficult. The questions were from hyperbola and eclipse.
The chemistry section was comparatively easy, and most questions were from NCERT. Physical chemistry had fewer questions compared to inorganic and organic chemistry.

June 24, 2022 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

JEE Main session I, day 2, slot 1 exam was completed for paper I. There were 90 questions for paper I. There were 30 questions from each section: Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. Candidates needed to attempt 75 questions (25 questions from each section). Out of which, 20 questions were of MCQ type, while 10 questions were numerical type. Candidates had to attempt 5 questions out of 10 numerical-type questions.

Candidates expressed day 2 slot 1 exam was moderate.
The Physics questions were easy to moderate. Most of the questions were about semiconductors, POC, waves, and electrostatics.
The chemistry paper was moderate. The questions were mostly NCERT based. Apart from that, questions were from polymers and biomolecules.
The mathematics paper was moderate as well but lengthy. The main topics from which the questions were asked were vectors, mathematical induction, P & C, and integers.

June 23, 2022 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

JEE Main session I day 1 slot 2 exam was held for B.Plan (2B) and had three sections. Mathematics (Part-I) and Aptitude Test (Part-II) were common with Paper 2A. For both B.Plan and B.Arch exams, the paper comprised 400 marks. The common sections in both exams were Mathematics & Aptitude Test. However, the 3rd sections were different. For B.Arch, the third included a drawing test, whereas the 3rd section of the B.Plan exam included planning-based questions.

Candidates found the overall difficulty of the paper to be from easy to moderate difficulty level.
Mathematics had 10 numerical questions, out of which candidates were supposed to attempt any 5 questions.
The remaining 20 questions were MCQs based. The exam was held in a Computer Based Tests (CBTs).
The third part of Paper 2B consisted of planning-based questions.

June 23, 2022 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

JEE Main session I day 1 slot 1 exam was successfully concluded, with most students who applied appearing for the exam. Candidates who appeared for the exam exclaimed that the paper was between moderate and difficult. Questions were lengthy for the mathematics section. On the other hand, the aptitude paper was moderately easy. Candidates reacted to the drawing section as being the easiest.

B.Arch Paper Analysis

Chapter 3 of the 3D Geometry section was given more importance, and questions from computations appeared in the numerical mathematical section.
The aptitude section was Easy to Moderate.
Candidates were asked to sketch and colour a scene from the Holi Festival, another question asked to recreate a given figure with the right proportions, and a third asked them to colour the Burger King emblem (1:500). Additionally, candidates stated that Drawing was the Easiest section of all.

Slot 1 - B.Plan Paper Analysis

The aptitude section was easy to moderate, and questions from 3D shapes were there.
The mathematics section was moderately difficult. Calculus, Vector, and Three-dimensional Geometry questions were given high weightage.
The planning section was comparatively easy.

JEE Mains August 2021 Exam Analysis

The JEE Main paper analysis 2021 is important to understand to appear for the following year. However, JEE Main May session was postponed to August 2021. Thus, candidates had enough time to prepare for the exams. After monitoring the previous sessions’ papers, the exam is expected to be moderate to difficult. The exam was conducted from Aug 26 to Sep 2, 2021.

September 1, 2021 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

The evening slot of the JEE Main 2021 Day 4 was successfully conducted without any problems. Most of the students reported the paper to be easy to moderate to solve. The paper was moderate mostly because of the lengthy nature of questions asked, otherwise this paper would have been easy to solve.

The chemistry section was easy to solve, with an equal number of questions from both organic and inorganic chemistry which is a rare occurrence.
The physics section was again easy in this paper, and the main topics from which the questions were asked were modern physics, electricity, semiconductors, and other class 11 subject topics.
The mathematics section was moderate in difficulty level. The main topics from which the questions were asked were calculus, parabola, integration, complex numbers, coordinate geometry, and most of these questions were lengthy in nature.

September 1, 2021 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The morning slot of JEE Main 2021 Day 4 was conducted successfully. The test was reported to be moderate in difficulty level, with an overall weightage of questions from the Class 12 syllabus.

The mathematics section was tricky and lengthy to solve, thus making it the hardest section of this paper, but it was easier compared to the questions from other papers. Topics such as algebra and trigonometry were covered in this session.
The chemistry section was as usual the easiest of them all. Most of the questions from inorganic chemistry were directly from the NCERT reference material. Other topics included were environmental chemistry, chemistry in everyday life, etc.

August 31, 2021 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

The morning slot for JEE Main 2021 on Aug 31, 2021, was successfully conducted between 9 AM and 12 PM. Students who attempted this paper found it to be easy to moderate in level of difficulty. Most students reported that the questions were directly asked from the NCERT preparation material.

The mathematics section was easier when compared to the previous sessions, and questions were included from topics such as differential equations, integration, functions, geometry, conics, etc.
The chemistry section was as usual easy to solve with questions from theory-based NCERT topics such as p-block, name reactions, polymers, and organic chemistry.

The evening slot for JEE Main 2021 session-4-day-2 was successfully conducted today. There was some technical difficulty faced by the testing program and hence the exam concluded all over India at 6:45 PM instead of the regular time of 6:00 PM. Again, the students reported this session's paper to be moderate in nature.

The mathematics section was moderate to difficult to solve due to the lengthy and time-consuming nature of the questions asked in this section.
The physics section was also of a moderate level of difficulty mostly due to the numerical apart from the fact that the rest of the questions were theory-based and easy to solve.
The chemistry was again, as seems to be the norm this year, was the easiest to solve. Most students said it did not really need an intense level of preparation but this is again subjective to each student's capabilities.

August 27, 2021 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The morning slot for the second day of JEE Main 2021 session 4 was successfully conducted today. The overall difficulty level as reported by the students who attempted this paper was moderate.

The chemistry section was reported to be easy to solve with most questions from organic and inorganic chemistry topics as per the NCERT syllabus.
The mathematics section was moderate in difficulty level, the number of easy and lengthy questions were equal in number. Most questions were from coordinate geometry, vectors and 3-D geometry.
The physics section was easy to moderate. Students reported that most questions were asked about thermodynamics, electrostatics, and more.

August 26, 2021 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Slot 2 (Afternoon) of the final session of JEE Main 2021 was conducted successfully on Aug 26, 2021. This session's paper was reported to be moderately difficult with mostly theory-based questions in the chemistry section.

Candidates reported the physics and mathematics sections to be moderately difficult. However, the mathematics section was full of lengthy questions which made it time-consuming as well.
The chemistry section was reported to be easy to solve as the questions were mostly theory-based. But this depended on the candidates' level of preparation.

August 26, 2021 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Slot 1 of the final session of JEE Main 2021 was successfully conducted on the morning of Aug 26, 2021. This session was conducted for paper 1 aspirants, i.e., those who wish to pursue engineering. The slot 1 paper was reported to be of an overall moderate level of difficulty. However, some repeater students did feel that this paper was easier than the one they attempted in July.

The mathematics section was reported to be moderate in difficulty level, consisting of questions majorly from algebra, geometry and calculus. Few of the questions were lengthy in nature.
The physics and chemistry sections were reported to be easy to moderate in difficulty level.
Most of the questions were from the NCERT Books of Classes 11 and 12. Students who prepared thoroughly should not have a tough time securing a good score in this paper.

Last Minute Preparation Tips for JEE Main 2021 Session 4

On the edge of the examination date students are advised to appear for mock tests every day, analyze their mistakes and keep a note of the same. Also, keep on revising the formulas and important pointers. Do not ignore the topics which carried good weightage in the previous sessions.

Additionally, make sure you are fresh and not sleep deprived on the examination day; this won’t allow space for distractions. Lastly, be confident and read the question paper properly, start with the section which you think is your strength.

Previous Session Analysis: Overview

The JEE Main paper analysis 2021 for session 3 reflected the paper as moderate in terms of difficulty level. Candidates who appeared for JEE Main 2021 in February and March mentioned some of the questions were from NCERT and there were a few surprising questions too.

Although the mathematics section was a bit lengthy, physics had a number of tricky questions which consumed a long time in calculations. However, the chemistry section was the easiest amongst all other sections and students didn't have to invest a lot of time in this section.

Adding onto this, students also mentioned that the question paper pattern was not different from the previous year's papers.

JEE Mains April/July 2021 Exam Analysis

The JEE Main paper analysis 2021 was out after the session was conducted for April 2021. However, the session was postponed due to the circumstances caused by COVID-19. Candidates who had applied for this session had to wait for the notification from NTA that the April session would be conducted in July.

The exam was conducted on July 20, 22, 25 and 27 so that candidates have enough time to go over the exam analysis of the previous sessions and prepare well for the exam. Candidates have been asked to fill in their details and drop their admit cards in a dropbox after the conduction of their exam. Failing to do so may result in the non-evaluation of their answers.

July 25, 2021 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

The second shift of day 3 of the JEE Main third session was successfully conducted on July 25, 2021, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The overall paper was moderately difficult as reported by many students. But it was evident that this depended on the students' level of preparation.

The chemistry section of this paper was easy to moderate. As usual for this session, most of the questions were asked directly from the NCERT syllabus topics.
The physics section consisted of topics from kinematics, semiconductors, laws of motion and other such topics which rated the section to be moderately difficult.
The mathematics section in this paper was also of a moderate difficulty level. Those students who had prepared well for the exam found it to be quite easy.

July 25, 2021 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The first shift of day 3 of the JEE Main third session was successfully conducted on July 25, 2021, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A lot of candidates had appeared for this exam as it was scheduled on a Sunday.

The paper was reported to be of an overall difficulty level of moderate to tough. Let's look into a detailed analysis of the paper below:

As usual, most of the candidates found the mathematics section of this paper to be the most difficult. It was reported to be calculative and lengthy.
The chemistry section was surprisingly easier than compared to the previous two days. Most of the questions asked were directly from topics covered in the NCERT syllabus.
The candidates reported the physics section to be moderately difficult. The numerical to theory type questions were balanced and almost all the questions asked were covered in Class 11 and 12 syllabi from NCERT.

July 22, 2021 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

The second shift of JEE Main session 3, day 2 was finally conducted on July 22, 2021, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Many candidates reported the overall difficulty level of the paper to be moderate.

As usual, mathematics was tougher than physics or chemistry. This section was lengthy and most of the questions required large amounts of calculations.
Most questions in the paper were application based.
The physics section was rated between easy to moderate level of difficulty.
Candidates also reported that the questions in the chemistry paper consisted of questions directly based on NCERT topics.

July 22, 2021 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The first shift of JEE Main session 3, day 2 was conducted successfully on July 22, 2021, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The overall difficulty level of the paper was reported to be between moderate and tough.

A lot of the candidates reported that 16 to 17 questions from the physics section were asked from NCERT class 11 syllabus.
This time the chemistry section was moderate to difficult in nature, with questions equally distributed from NCERT class 11 and 12 topics.
The mathematics section had mixed reviews of it being moderate or difficult in nature, which mostly depended on the level of preparation of the candidates.

July 20, 2021 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

The second shift of the third session of JEE Main 2021 was successfully conducted on July 20, 2021, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. All the COVID-19 regulations were followed by the candidates and the exam centres.

In addition, most of the students reported that the exam paper was moderately difficult in this slot. The analysis is as follows:

The physics section was easy to moderate in difficulty level along with the chemistry section being easy, once again on Day 1.
The mathematics section, however, was of moderate to tough difficulty level based on the candidates' level of preparation.

July 20, 2021 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The first shift of the third session of JEE Main Paper 1 was successfully conducted from 9 AM to 12 noon. Candidates had to follow all the COVID-19 safety guidelines to be allowed to their respective exam centres.

A lot of the students reported that the chemistry section was the easiest of all, with theory-based questions from the NCERT Class 11 and 12 syllabus topics.

JEE Main Exam Analysis March 2021

The JEE Main March Exam is being conducted from March 16 and will be continued until March 18, 2021. The exam is being held in two shifts from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM respectively. In this session, only the Paper 1 exam (i.e; BTech Exam) will be conducted.

March 18, 2021 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

The second shift of the JEE Main 2021 exam scheduled on March 18 was conducted successfully from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Candidates have reported that the paper was of easy to moderate level of difficulty.

Most of the questions were directly asked from the NCERT Syllabus. The numerical problems were lengthy and time-consuming but were easy to solve.
The Mathematics section was a moderate to the tough level of difficulty. The Physics section was easy while the Chemistry section was moderate.

March 18, 2021 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The first shift of the JEE Main 2021 exam scheduled on March 18 was conducted successfully from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Candidates are overall happy with their performance in this slot's paper.

Nevertheless, the candidates claimed that the chemistry section was easier than it was in the February 2021 session.

The overall difficulty of the paper was moderate. Most of the questions asked were from the NCERT Class 12 Syllabus.
The numerical questions were easy to solve and as lengthy as previous sessions.
Chemistry was the easiest section considering that the questions came directly from the NCERT Textbooks while Physics and Mathematics were of moderate to the tough level of difficulty.

March 17, 2021 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

The second shift of the JEE Main March 2021 session was successfully conducted on March 17 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The initial reaction of the candidates suggests that the paper was of a moderate level of difficulty.

Most students have reported that the Mathematics section as tough.
The questions asked were taken from the NCERT textbooks and syllabus.
The numerical questions asked were time-consuming across all the sections of the paper.

March 17, 2021 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The March 17 forenoon slot for JEE Main 2021 was conducted successfully at all the exam centres. Candidates reportedly found this slot's paper to be of easy to moderate level of difficulty.

Additionally, most candidates reported that they found the chemistry section to be the easiest.

Students found that the Physics section was moderate and the questions had come from topics such as resonance, logic gates, potentiometer, etc.
The Mathematics section was found to be of a moderate level of difficulty as reported by multiple candidates. Topics that were chosen to frame the questions included invertible functions, tangents, mathematical reasoning etc.

March 16, 2021 - Slot 2 - 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

The second slot of JEE Main for the March 2021 session was conducted successfully on March 16, 2021, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

This slot was only for candidates who had opted to take part in the Paper 1 examination. The initial reaction of the candidates suggests that the paper was between an easy to moderate level of difficulty.

The Chemistry section was surprisingly easy for all the candidates, given that the previous slot had tricky/confusing questions in this section.
Physics was moderate and Mathematics was considerably a little difficult as the questions asked were lengthy and took time to solve.
The weightage for Class 11 topics was more than the weightage given to Class 12 topics.

March 16, 2021 - Slot 1 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The first slot for the March 2021 Session of the JEE Main was successfully conducted from 9 AM to 12 PM on March 16, 2021. Candidates who had opted for the Paper 1 exam could attend this slot.

As per the initial reactions of the students, this slot seems to have been of a moderate level of difficulty. Most students also reported that they got the questions that they were expecting during their preparation process.

This time, Physics was reportedly the toughest section in the paper.
But a few other students have mentioned that they found the Chemistry section to be extremely confusing.
The Mathematics section was of a moderate to the tough level of difficulty. It included questions from subject topics such as Mathematical Reasoning, Tangents, Vector 3D, and more.
The Chemistry section surprisingly consisted of a higher number of physical chemistry questions along with multiple numerical.

JEE Mains February 2021- Analysis

The JEE Mains February 2021 exam was conducted between 23 February to 26 February. B.Tech was conducted as Paper 1 while B. Arch was conducted as Paper 2A and B.Planning as Paper 2B. There have been many changes in the examination pattern lately. Hence there was a lot of anticipation.

The paper for B.Tech mainly was considered moderate to difficult. However, candidates remarked, the questions were challenging.

The paper was lengthy for the Mathematics section compared to Chemistry and Physics. Some of the questions of the B.Tech paper were from a mock paper released by NTA Abhyas App.

Candidates considered the B.Arch/ B.Plan paper to be easy to moderate. The question paper for mathematics was easier than expected. The General Aptitude was relatively complex. Overall the question paper was good, and the candidates were quite satisfied.

JEE Main 2021 COVID-19 Safety Guidelines

In order to take the necessary precautions NTA (National Test Agency) released the Instructions and Advisory for COVID-19 with the Admit Card and all candidates are advised to strictly adhere to them. As part of the safety procedure, all candidates are advised to follow these steps:

All candidates were advised to reach their exam centre as per their reporting time given on their Admit Card to avoid crowding at the centre during entry and follow social distancing effectively.
Candidates were allowed to visit their respective exam centres a day in advance to get a better idea about their seating arrangement and avoid any confusion thereby preventing crowding on the exam day.
All candidates must read the instructions on Page 2 to 4 of the Admit Card regarding instructions and advisory regarding COVID-19 and fill the Admit Card accordingly.
Candidates will be allowed inside the exam centre only if they are wearing a mask.
Items allowed inside the exam centre include the following:
- Exam related documents (Admit Card, ID card, etc. Please refer to Admit Card for more details)
- A ball-point pen
- Additional photograph (for pasting on the attendance sheet)
- Personal hand sanitiser (max 50 ml)

JEE Main April/September 2020 Exam

JEE Main 2020 Exam for the month of September was concluded on September 6, 2020. As per the conducting body, The JEE Main 2020 review presented that the top 2.5 lakh qualifiers from this exam will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2020 for admissions in the IITs. JEE Main 2020 Results will be out on September 11, 2020.

A total of 8,57,932 candidates registered for the JEE Main 2020 September Exam. The detailed statistics are given in the below table:

The JEE Main 2020 exam was conducted across 605 centres for B.E/B.Tech whereas for B.Arch and B.Planning, was conducted in 490 centres across the country.

The attendance of the JEE Main 2020 exam was really affected by the pandemic and bad conditions across several cities, especially on the 1st day of the exam for B.Arch and B.Planning where the attendance percentage was approximately 55%.

The attendance percentage across the remaining days varied between 80% and 85%. A total of 6.35 lakh candidates appeared for the JEE Main 2020 exam across the 6 days. The overall analysis of the JEE Main 2020 paper analysis is given below:

Candidates found the overall difficulty of the paper across all days to be from moderate to the high difficulty level.
Chemistry paper was the easiest across all the exam shifts.
Drawing paper was rather tricky and time taking.
The difficulty level of Mathematics was rated high mainly due to the length of the paper.
Physics had the majority of questions from the Class 11 NCERT syllabus.
Proper arrangements were made by the authority to ensure that all necessary precautions were taken in lieu of COVID 19.

Reviews about the Exam Centre

Necessary precautions were considered where the seat between two students was left empty. They made sure that a ‘No touch policy’ was followed and students were made to wear masks that were immediately discarded.
Candidates were not allowed to wear belts, thick-soled shoes, or any metal items, etc.
Candidates were not permitted to carry anything inside the examination hall except for a pencil box for drawing, their Aadhar Card & Admit Card, and transparent water bottles.
Candidates were not allowed to carry personal masks as new surgical masks were handed to each candidate upon entry.
Four invigilators carrying an orange tab addressed each candidate, where they took a photo of the candidate and scanned the hall ticket from a safe distance.
