While filling their application forms, the candidates will be asked to choose the cities where it would be most convenient for them to appear for the JEE Main 2021 examination. The candidates must make this decision thoughtfully, as once chosen, they cannot get their exam centres changed under any circumstances.   • NTA has introduced 3 new test centres in India and overseas. These centres include Kargil (Ladakh) in India, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and Abuja/ Lagos in Nigeria.

The admit card of JEE Main will hold the information regarding the exam center, the shift, and other instructions to be followed on the exam day. The administrative and all related responsibilities have been transferred to the National Testing Agency (NTA). JEE Main 2021 will be conducted four times a year, in February, March, April and May.

Candidates can write either of the two or both the papers depending on the course they choose.

NTA will set up JEE Main Exam Centres in approximately 330 cities in India for the academic year 2021. Candidates are required to select a total of 4 cities for the exam center in chronological order of preference. Please note that these selections cannot be altered once the application form has been filled in and submitted.

Candidates failing to carry a valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card / Voter ID Card) with their admit card/hall ticket to the center will not be allowed inside the exam hall.

Most of the exam centers will serve students with English or Hindi JEE Main Question Papers. At exam centers across Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, the Question Paper will be available in Gujarati as well.

How to choose the Test Centre for JEE Main 2021?

The applicants will be allowed to choose a maximum of 4 cities, where they would prefer their exam centre to be located. The candidates must do so in a chronological order. The steps to choose the JEE Main Exam Centre for 2021 are given below:

  1. Choose the top 4 cities closest to you, from the list of JEE Main 2021 Exam Centres given below.
  2. Go to the official website of JEE Mains 2021, i.e., www.jeemain.nta.nic.in
  3. In your application form, fill the chosen cities in a chronological way, where no. 1 is your first preference.
  4. NTA generally allots candidate the first city, but in case the test centre is incapable of accommodating the candidate, he/she will be given the second city chosen.

What to carry to the JEE Main 2021 Exam Centre?

The candidates will have to carry certain articles to the examination centre for JEE Main 2021.

  1. A hardcopy of JEE Main Admit Cards 2021 must be brought to the venue mandatorily. Candidates without the document will not be allowed to enter the exam centre.
  2. A passport-sized photograph of the candidate must be brought to the exam centre. The photograph must be the same as the one uploaded by the candidate on his/her application form.
  3. A government-issued photo identity proof, such as the Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Driving License. The ID proof being carried must be valid and original.
  4. If the candidate is reserved under PwD, he/she must bring along the certificate testifying his/her disability, issued by a competent authority.

Practice Test Centers for JEE Main 2021

NTA provides candidates with the opportunity to appear for the mock test at practice centres. To avail the famility, candidates need to register on the official website. Some advantages for appearing the mock test at these practice centres are:

  • This facility is free.
  • These tests familiarize candidates with the exam pattern.
  • It'll give candidates a hands-on experience of the actual exam.
  • Candidates will be able to assess their strengths and weaknesses.

It is mandatory for candidates to register for this practice exam on the official website. Candidates who haven't registered can't take this test.

COVID-19 Specific Guidelines for JEE Main 2021

  • The candidates would be made to sit at least 1 meter apart from each other.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the JEE Main 2021 exam centre without a face mask.
  • Candidates must report to the venue on time, as they will have to undergo various screening procedures.
  • Candidates must carry their own hand sanitizers in transparent dispensers.
  • Candidates must carry their own water bottles. The bottles must be transparent.
  • Candidates are strictly advised against standing in groups at the exam centre, before or after taking the exam.

  • How many exam centers will be set up by for JEE Main 2021?

Ans. Around 330 exam centres will be set up by the NTA for session 2021. Candidates can check the exam/test center allotted to them and also the time & shift of their exam by logging on to the official JEE Main website using their application number, password, and the security pin as shown.

  • What is the process to choose the JEE Main exam center? Does it involve the candidate's own choice?

  • When is the reporting time at exam centers for the candidates?

Ans. Candidates are required to bring their Admit Card and Aadhar Card to the exam center. In case the candidate hails from Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, and Meghalaya, and do not possess an Aadhar Card, they will have to bring their Passport or any other valid Government identity proof along with their admit card to the exam center.

Ans. NTA gives a window in which all applicants can make certain changes to their JEE Main 2021 application forms.
