JEE Main Exam 2026: Session 1 Answer Key (Out), Objection Window (Closed), Session 2 Registration (Ongoing)

The Provisional JEE Main answer key for session 1 paper 1 will be released soon. You can download the provisional answer key from the official website. The Provisional answer key challenge window was available from Feb 04-06, 2026.  The Session 1 JEE Main result is expected to be released by Feb 12, 2026.

The JEE Main session 2 registration commenced from Feb 01, 2026, and the last date to apply for the session 2 exam is Feb 25, 2026.   JEE Main exam 2026 session 1 admit card for Jan 28-29, 2026 exam was released on Jan 25, 2026. The session 1 admit card for Jan 21, 22, 23 and 24, 2026 exams was released by the authorities on Jan 17, 2026.

What's New in JEE Main 2026?

The NTA has released an initial notification on keeping the required documents for JEE Main registration 2026 in the prescribed format, ready to avoid any delay in submitting the form. The following are the pointers mentioned in the advisory released by the NTA recently:

To streamline the process further, candidates are advised to upload the required documents in advance in the format given below:

• Aadhaar Card- Aadhaar Card should be updated with the correct name, date of birth (as per Class 10th certificate), latest photograph, address and father's name.
• UDID Card (for Persons with Disabilities)- UDID Card should be valid, updated and renewed as required.
• Category Certificate- The category certificate (EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL) should be updated and valid.

JEE Main 2026 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

The JEE Main 2026 exam will be conducted in online computer-based test (CBT) mode. The exam consists of two papers, is Paper 1 for B.E./B. Tech aspirants and Paper 2 (2A & 2B) for B.Arch and B.Planning aspirants.

Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech):

• Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
• Total Questions: 90 (30 from each subject; candidates need to attempt 75)
• Marks: 300 (4 marks per correct answer)
• Marking Scheme: +4 for correct answer, -1 for incorrect MCQ, no negative marking for numerical value-based questions.
• Duration: 3 hours

Paper 2A (B.Arch):

• Subjects: Mathematics, Aptitude Test, Drawing Test
• Total Marks: 400

Paper 2B (B.Planning):

• Subjects: Mathematics, Aptitude Test, Planning-based questions

How Many Attempts Are Allowed for JEE Main 2026?

You can attempt the JEE Main exams 6 times for three consecutive years as the exam will be held in two sessions each year. You can choose to appear in either one session or both sessions. The following are the criteria you must consider:

• If you appear in both sessions, the best of the two scores will be considered for ranking.
• You can attempt JEE Main for three consecutive years after passing Class 12.
• You can attempt the exam for a maximum of six attempts in total (two per year for three years).
