The Indian Maritime University (IMU) was established on Nov 14, 2008. IMU has its headquarters in Chennai. It has regional campuses in Mumbai, Cochin, Visakhapatnam, and Kolkata. The new headquarters building is being worked on 300 acres of land that arrived apportioned to IMU at Semmancherry, Chennai, on East Coast Road and Old Mahabalipuram Road.

IMU CET Eligibility Criteria 2025

Candidates who are willing to take the IMU CET 2025 exam must ensure that they meet all the criteria given by the Indian Maritime University. The eligibility criteria are different for each undergraduate and postgraduate course. The detailed eligibility criteria for the exam are given below:

Age Criteria

The age criteria for both UG and PG courses for different category students are given below.

Undergraduate Program

The age of the candidate should be 25 years.

  • General: 25 years
  • OBC/ NCL: 28 years
  • SC/ST: 30 years

Note: For female candidates, a relaxation of 2 years is applicable.

Postgraduate Program

There are no age limit restrictions for candidates who apply for the postgraduate course.

IMU CET 2025 Educational Qualifications

BBA (Logistics, Retailing, and E-Commerce)

The candidates must have passed class 12th in any stream with a minimum aggregate of 60% score. The candidate should also have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in English subjects in the 10th or 12th examination.

MBA Program

The candidates should have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks as an undergraduate to be eligible for the MBA program.

M.Tech (Marine Engineering and Management)

The candidates must have completed their undergraduate in B.E. / Mechanical Engineering/ B.Tech in Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture from a UGC-recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 60% score.

IMU CET 2025 Counselling Process

A seat is provisionally allotted to the candidate from the list of options based on rank, category of the candidate, and availability of seats. After the seats are allotted, the candidates must confirm the seat by paying the program fee of INR 25,000.

Candidates who confirm the allotted seat are issued with the Provisional Allotment Letter, which has to be produced at the time of verification along with original mark sheets, certificates, and physical fitness certificates on the mentioned date. Candidates who do not pay the program fee and fail to confirm before the last date are considered to have dropped out and will not be allowed for subsequent admission up-gradation or seat allotment.

Candidates whose names are not published in the IMU's admission list are entitled to a refund after deducting the administrative charges of 10% of the counselling fee. The amount is refunded to the account from which the candidate made the transaction. It is advised that the candidates may choose as many options as possible based on IMU CET 2025 eligibility criteria to increase their chances of allotment of seats.
