Those who qualify will appear in the list of short-listed candidates and will be invited for the next rounds. The selection process will comprise two stages for the TISSNET 2023 session, as given below.

  • Stage 1: Online Assessment
  • Stage 2: Final Selection

TISSNET 2023 Online Assessment

As per the authorities, the online assessment for the TISSNET will be a 20-30 mins assessment judged by three members panel. The candidates must fill in the application form for the online assessment. This assessment will help authorities know the level of candidates' interest in the programs they have selected. The OA will be conducted in two parts, as given below.

  • Extempore: The candidates will be asked to speak on a topic related to the program or course selected by them. The candidates will have to speak on the topic for at least 2-3 minutes. If the candidates do not know the topic well enough, they can ask to change the topic, but this request is one time only, i.e., they can only change the topic once.
  • Personal Interview: The institute panelist will conduct a virtual interview to assess the candidates’ interest in their selected program. The round will assess the candidates on their understanding of the social and economic factors of the subject.

TISSNET 2023 Final Selection

Once the candidates have gone through the online assessment, their overall marks will be aggregated based on their performance in each round. The TISSNET final score will be equated as 50:20:30 of the TISSNET, Extempore and Personal Interview as per the new notification. Check the table below for TISSNET score aggregation for HRM, OCDL and other masters’ programs.

TISSNET Score Aggregation

How is TISSNET 2023 Merit List Prepared?

TISSNET merit list is prepared based on the weightage of marks given to each stage, as tabulated above. The merit criteria for Reserved Category and General Category candidates are the same.

The list will be prepared based on merit and preferences when filling the TISSNET application form. Therefore, the applicants must indicate their preferences carefully in the TISSNET form as it has implications for the merit list.

TISSNET 2023 Results Tie Breaker

The following steps are followed based on specific standards when a tie exists between two candidates in the TISSNET admission process.

  • At first, the PI marks of the candidates will be compared.
  • If both candidates have equal marks in PI, then PIT marks will be compared.
  • If the candidates also have equal marks in PIT, then the TISSNET exam entrance marks of both candidates will be considered.
  • If the entrance scores are still equal, the older candidate will be given preference over the younger.

Rules for Preparation of TISSNET Waitlist 2023

The candidates can check the rules for preparing the TISSNET waitlist to know the complete process.

  • Candidates will not be on the waitlists for any other program mentioned in their list of preferences if they already got admission into a program of their first preference after the TISSNET entrance exam.
  • The candidates will retain only in the waitlist of the first preference if they get admission into any program, which is their second preference. A candidate who got admission into any program of their third preference will retain their first and second preference list on the waitlist.
  • Candidates, who got admission in a program lower in their order of preferences, will retain in the waitlist of a preference higher in the order until the program seats are filled.
  • If the candidate qualifies in two programs simultaneously, a higher preference will prevail when the waitlist is released. The institute will give admission to the candidates' higher preference courses in TISSNET.
  • A candidate who has got admission already in a program as per the first merit list will subsequently be offered a higher preference when the waitlist is activated. They will be automatically moved to the program of their higher preference and informed.
