UGC NET Registration 2024 (Till May 10): Fees, Steps to Apply

UGC NET Registration 2024 notification has been announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA). UGC NET 2024 Registration can be done through the ugcnet.nta.ac.in the portal. The last date for the registration for UGC NET 2024 is on May 10, 2024.

However, the deadline for paying the application fee has been extended to May 11, 2024, and May 12, 2024. Candidates must pay the relevant fees to finish the UGC NET application form 2024 process.

The cost breakdown is as follows: INR 325 for candidates who are SC/ST/PwD, INR 600 for OBC, and INR 1150 for General Category candidates. However, the exam date for UGC NET has been postponed for Jun 18, 2024. In addition, the exam will be conducted in OMR (pen and paper) mode.

UGC NET Registration 2024 Process

For UGC NET Registrations 2024, applications can be submitted by potential candidates between Apr 20, 2024, and May 10, 2024. The actions they must do to finish the NTA UGC NET application procedure are listed below.

• Step 1: Candidates shall navigate to the website ugcnet.nta.ac.in. to register themselves for the UGC NET Exam.
• Step 2: Next, they must locate and click on the "Application form" link found at the bottom of the homepage. On clicking a new page will open.
• Step 3: Thereafter, choose "New Registration" to initiate the registration process and fill in the necessary details.
• Step 4: Candidates shall provide all the required details including the Candidate’s name, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, Gender, and Identification Number to complete the registration.
• Step 5: Once registered, proceed to fill out the entire application form which includes the candidate’s personal information, Purpose of application, Education Details, Security information, doctorate details, Research, or any ex-services-related information.
• Step 6: Moving further, the candidate must upload scanned copies of their passport-size photo (10-200 kb) and signature (4-30 kb) in JPEG format.
• Step 7: Candidates shall make the payment for the UGC NET application fee according to your category: General - INR 1,150; OBC/EWS - INR 600; SC/ST/PwD/Transgender - INR 325.
• Step 8: They shall review the information provided, save the form, and submit it.
• Step 9: Finally, the candidate must download the confirmation page for their records.

UGC NET Registrations 2024: Application Fees

UGC NET registration fee payment can be made through SBI, Canara Bank, ICICI Bank, or HDFC Bank. The modes of payment accepted are Net Banking, Debit/credit cards, and UPI Transactions.

Candidate should keep proof of fee paid. Candidates are required to pay the below-mentioned fees according to their sub-division.

Given below is the list of Documents Required for the UGC NET Registration 202 for all aspiring candidates for a seamless application procedure.

• Provide a copy of the Board/University Certificate displaying details such as name, mother's name, father's name, etc.

UGC NET Registration 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be under 30 years old to be eligible for NTA NET JRF, however, there is no age restriction for seeking to be an Assistant Professor; reserved category applicants, however, are entitled to apply with a five-year age relaxation.

Indian citizenship is a crucial qualifying condition for the UGC NET exam, limiting participation to only Indian residents. However, Indian nationals living overseas may still apply by providing the necessary papers to confirm their status.

Candidates must have completed their post-graduation studies at an institution recognized by the UGC. Candidates from the reserved category are excused from the UGC NET exam, and those who passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) before Jun 1, 2002, are granted a five percent relaxation in their educational requirements.

• Difficulty Uploading Signatures & Photos: Even after several attempts, a lot of candidates encounter problems uploading their signatures and photos.
• Payment Errors: A few candidates have difficulties, such as those involving numerous payments, when completing the UGC NET application payment procedure.

UGC NET Registrations 2024 Solutions for Challenges Faced

While completing the UGC NET 2023 application form, candidates can see the answers to the problems they encountered below:

• Candidates report server problems as a result of an increase in traffic caused by over 8 lakh (approximately) users trying to complete the application at the same time. It is suggested that they wait a few days before completing the application or use fast internet.

What’s After UGC NET Form Registration 2024

After the completion of the registration, UGC NET Application Correction 2024 has been scheduled from May 13, 2024, to May 15, 2024. Below are the steps to be followed to make corrections in the application.

• Step 1: Firstly, the candidate shall visit the official website of the UGC NET exam.
• Step 2: Next, they should log in using their application number and password.
• Step 3: They should look for the link or button for the UGC NET application form correction and click on it.
• Step 4: After that, the candidate must read the instructions carefully and click on the 'I Agree' checkbox to proceed.
• Step 5: Next, they should click on the 'Proceed for Application' button.
• Step 6: The candidate&;can make the necessary changes to their application form.
• Step 7: Later, they must review the corrections made.
• Step 8: Furthermore, they should tick the checkboxes provided at the bottom of the page to confirm the changes.
• Step 9: If there are any additional fees for the corrections, the candidate is required to make the payment.
