Application Form Details for UGC NET 2019 Exam

Fill the online application form on the official UGC website.

Read all the instructions and fill all entries with relevant information.

Upload a recent scanned passport size photo in the space given for the same.

The required application fee can be paid through debit/credit card as well as through the e-challan generated from the website.

Attach all the necessary documents to the printouts of the filled application form, attendance slip and admission card and send it to the Registrar/Principal of the Coordinating Institute.

UGC NET Exam Application Form 2019

  • Important Dates: Candidates can fill the form without late fee from 1st March 2019 till 30th March 2019.
  • Cancellation of the Application Form: Candidates should fill correct details, failing to do so leads to cancellation of the application form.
  • Mode of Payment: After the candidate fills all the required details in the UGC NET 2019 Application form, candidates are asked to choose the mode of payment. The candidate can pay the fee through Credit/Debit cards and also through e-challans.
  • Status of the Application Fees: The candidates are advised to check the status of the application fee after the UGC NET 2019 Application Fee is submitted.
  • OK Status: If the status is 'OK', the candidates can take a printout of the application form, Attendance Slip, and the Admission card.
  • Not OK Status: If the status is 'Not OK' in the UGC NET Application form, the candidates can go through the following steps.

UGC NET Application Form Payment:

Payment through e-challan:

  • Candidates who wish to pay through e-challan should take a print out of the e-challan generated and should pay the required fee amount in the bank.
  • If the status appears as "Not OK", then the candidate should contact the concerned bank immediately to update his/her fee status on the website.

Payment through Credit/Debit Card:

  • If the candidate wishes to pay through Credit/Debit card, then he/she can pay through the payment portal by entering the required details.

  • If the UGC NET fee is paid through credit/debit card and status appears as "Not OK’, it means the transaction has been canceled and the amount will be refunded to concerned credit/debit card within a time period of one week. If so, the candidates have to pay the application fee for UGC NET again.

UGC NET Online Application Form Filling Details:

Before beginning the process of filling the form, please keep the following information ready with you: 

  • Copy of Board/ University Certificate for Candidate’s Name, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name and Date of Birth

  • Aadhaar Card (Original Only)

  • Type of Identification – Bank A/C Number/ Passport Number/ Ration Card/ Other Govt ID

  • Qualifying Degree Certificate or Last Semester Marks Sheets

  • Your Mailing Address as well as Permanent Address with Pin Code

  • Four Cities for Exam Centres of your choice

  • Code of NET Subject

  • Code of the subject at Post Graduation level

  • Code of Post Graduation Course

  • Category Certificate (If Applicable)

  • A person with Disability (PWD) Certificate

  • Your own e-mail address and Mobile Number

  • Scanned Documents (Photograph and Signature)

Checklist for Filling the Online Application Form

The candidates are advised to ensure the following points before filling the Online Application forms:

  • Whether they fulfill the eligibility conditions for the Test as prescribed under the heading ‘Conditions of Eligibility ’and‘ Age Limit’.

  • That they have filled their category viz General/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC/ST/PwD/ Transgender, in the relevant column correctly.

  • That they have filled their Subject and City of examination and code in the relevant column correctly.

  • That the Person with Disability (PWD) candidate has filled the relevant column in the online application form. Only PwD candidates have to fill this column and the others have to leave it blank.

  • Whether they have kept a Printout of the application form (confirmation page) for their own record. 

Duplicate Certificate

  • Missing certificates: The candidate who lost their original UGC NET 2019 certificate can apply for Duplicate Certificates.

  • Document submission: To get a duplicate Certificate candidate has to submit specific documents.

  • Authority attestation: An affidavit on a Judicial stamp paper duly attested by the Authority for the loss of original certificate issued by the UGC.

  • Affidavit: An affidavit should mention the name of the candidate, his/her particulars like father's and mother's names, date of UGC NET 2019, Roll number, subject, address, etc. 

  • Declaration: The candidate must state in the affidavit that in case of his/her discovering the original NET certificate/JRF Award letter, he/she would not misuse it and return it to the NET Bureau.

  • Payment: The candidate has to pay a demand draft of Rs. 100/- drawn in favor of the Secretary, University Grants Commission, New Delhi payable at State Bank of India, Service Branch, (Code No. 7687), New Delhi

  • FIR: An attested Copy of FIR registered at a Police Station. The Attestation stamp of the Class-I gazetted officer must bear his/her name, designation, and official address.

All NET qualified Candidates who have not received their e-certificate can download the same, the candidates have to provide their respective details.

UGC NET Application Form FAQ's

Ques: Whether the examination will be offline or online?

Ans: The examination will be conducted through the Computer-based Test made only.

Ques: What is the number of attempts for appearing in UGC-NET?

Ans: The NTA will hold the UGC-NET twice a year. The first ones being held in December 2018.

Ques: In case the Photograph is not having Name & Date of the Photograph, would the form be rejected?

Ans: The Application form will not be rejected in this case because it is not mandatory to mention Name & Date in Photograph.

Ques: In case, the Candidate has uploaded Blue Signature instead of a Black Signature in the application form of UGC-NET. Is it okay?

Ans: Your Application Form will not be rejected merely for this mistake.

Ques: Is Thumb Impression mandatory while filling the UGC NET application?

Ans: There is no need to upload thumb impression in the online application of UGC NET.

How do I check whether my application form fee has been received?

After the UGC NET fee submission, is it advised that to ensure that the fee has been successfully submitted, the candidate is required to check the status of fee payment at CBSE UGC website (www.cbsenet.nic.in) and if the status appears ‘Ok’ the candidate will be able to collect the printout of online Application Form (one copy), Attendance Slip (one copy) and Admission Card (one copy) on separate A-4 size papers.

In case, the fee payment status is not ‘OK’ the candidate are required to go through the following steps:

  • If the UGC NET exam fee is paid through e-challan by depositing cash in the above-mentioned bank, the candidate should contact the concerned bank immediately to update his/her fee status on the website.
  • If the UGC NET fee is paid through credit/debit card and status appears as not ‘OK’, it means the transaction has been cancelled and the amount will be refunded to concerned credit/debit card within a time period of one week.  Such candidates have to pay the NET fee once again.
