What is CTET 2019?

Full form of CTET is Central Teacher Eligibility Test which will be conducted to recruit candidates for teaching profile all across the country by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), India. The Government of India introduced the CTET Exam in order to improve or bring new standards in teaching. CTET exam is based on the National Curriculum Framework. All graduates are eligible to apply for CTET 2019 exam on the official website www.ctet.nic.in

CTET is a National Level exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). CTET Exam 2019 is conducted to recruit candidates for teaching profile all across the country for Primary classes (1-5) and Elementary or Secondary classes (6-8).

CTET 2019 Eligibility

Educational Qualification for Primary Teacher (Classes I to V) - Paper 1

  • Candidate passing Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and who has passed or is appearing for final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. (or)
  • Candidate passing Senior Secondary or equivalent with atleast 45% marks and who has passed or is appearing for final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE Regulations 2002. (or)
  • Candidate passing Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and who is passed or is appearing for final year of 4-year B.El.Ed. (or)
  • Candidate passing Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and who have passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education.

Eligibility Criteria for Elementary Teacher (Classes VI to VIII) - Paper 2

  • Candidates passing Graduation or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. (or)
  • Candidates passing Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (or)
  • Candidates passing Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed, in accordance with the NCTE Regulations. (or)
  • Candidates passing Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.El.Ed. (or)
  • Candidates passing Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. (or)
  • Candidates completing Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Age Limit

As per the official notification, the basic eligibility criteria for CTET 2019 age limit is 18-35 years.

CTET 2019 Syllabus

CTET 2019 syllabus for Paper 1 and Paper 2 is as follows:

Paper 1: CTET 2019 syllabus for Paper 1 includes Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (compulsory), Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Language II (compulsory).

Paper 2: CTET 2019 syllabus for Paper 2 includes Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory), Language I, Language II, Mathematics and Science, Social Studies.

CTET 2019 Exam Pattern

CTET exam 2019 is conducted in offline mode. CTET exam pattern will have two phases, Paper-1 and Paper 2. Questions asked in both the CTET exam papers are objective multiple type of choice question. Candidates who qualify both the papers of CTET 2019 exam will be called for the Interview process.

For Classes I to V (Primary Stage)

Paper for the primary stage will be having Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). The first section "Child Development and Pedagogy" will be based on the educational psychology of teaching and learning of children of 6 to 11 years.

Language I section will focus on proficiency in the language of imparting instructions. Language II will be related to the language, communication skills and comprehension abilities. Language I and Language II, both will be different. You will need to opt for languages from a set of available languages.

How to apply for CTET?

Following step-by-step procedure can be followed to submit your application for CTET.

  • Step 1: Firstly, you have to log on to the official website of CTET i.e. www.ctet.nic.in
  • Step 2: Futher, you need to find “Apply Online” link and open the same.
  • Step 3: Upon landing on next page, you have to fill the online application form. After its completion, please note down your Registration No./Application No. for future use.
  • Step 4: After filling the form, you will need to upload scanned images of your recent Photograph and Signature. Please keep in mind that your signature should not be smudged.
  • Step 5: Last step to for submission of your application is to pay the exam fee via e-challan (Offline mode) or debit/credit card (Online mode).
  • Step 6: For your future reference, it is advised to take a print out of your application form.

CTET Form will be available on the official website www.ctet.nic.in. CTET Application Fee can be paid through both online and offline modes. CTET exam form 2019 fees for General or OBC candidates writing Paper-1 or Paper-2 will be INR 700/- and the candidates applying for both the exams have to pay INR 1200/-. Candidates belonging to (SC/ST/PWD/Female) writing Paper-1 or Paper-2 have to pay INR 350/- and the candidates applying for both the exams have to pay INR 600/-.

Directions for Scanned Uploads:

  • Uploading of scanned photograph and full signatures are compulsory for any applicant.
  • Files to be upload should be in JPG/JPEG format.
  • File size of both the uploads should be from 10 to 100 KB.
  • Dimensions of your photograph should be 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm.
  • Scanned image size of signature should be between 3 to 30 KB.
  • Dimensions of your signature image should be 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm.

CTET 2019 Admit Card
