APTET 2019 Introduction

  • About APTET: Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test [APTET] is a State Level Entrance Test conducted by Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh to ensure National Standards and benchmark of Teacher quality in the recruitment process in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

  • Conducting Body: APTET 2019 will be conducted by Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

  • Level: Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is a State Level Entrance Test conducted in Andhra Pradesh every year in the month of May.

  • Mode and Date: APTET 2019 will be conducted online i.e. Computer-based Test (CBT) in 13 different districts in the state of Andhra Pradesh on June 10, 2019 to June 21, 2019.

  • APTET Pattern: The question paper consists of 2 papers i.e. Paper I and Paper II where paper II is further subdivided into Paper II (a) and Paper II (b).

  • Registration: Application Form was available on the official website from May 5, 2019 and the last date to submit the Application Form will be on May 23, 2019.

  • Admit Card: The Admit Card was released by the Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh online for all the aspirants on June 3, 2019.

  • Results: Results was declared on the official website for all candidates based on the qualifying marks on June 30, 2019.

APTET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The qualification required for Paper I, Paper II-A and Paper II-B is given below

Qualification for Paper I (Class I-V)

  • The candidates must have passed 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)/ 2 - year Diploma in Education (Special Education)/ Intermediate / Senior Secondary with minimum 50% marks for general category candidates and 45% marks for SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates.

Or

  • The candidates must have passed 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education. (B.El.Ed.) / 2 - year Diploma in Education (Special Education) in case of the candidates, who have passed or admitted to D.El.Ed / D.Ed., course prior to the issue of these guidelines/ Intermediate / Senior Secondary with minimum 45% marks for general category candidates and 40% marks for SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates.

Qualification for Paper II-A (Class VI-VIII)

[A] Mathematics and Science/ Social Teacher

  • The candidate must have passed in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Course/ Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) – Special Education in concerned subject with minimum 50% marks for general category candidates and 45% marks for SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates.

  • The candidates must have passed 4-years B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed with minimum 50% marks for general category candidates and 45% marks for SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates.

[B] Language Teacher

Graduation with concerned Language as one of the optional subjects (OR) Bachelor Degree of Oriental Language (or its equivalent) (OR) Graduation in Literature (OR) Post Graduation in Language concerned AND Language Pandit Training Certificate/ B.Ed with Language concerned as one of the Methodologies, in respect of Language Teachers.

Qualification for Paper II-B (Class VI-VIII)

[A] Physical Education Teacher

  • Candidates must have passed Intermediate Certificate issued by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (or) Equivalent certificate recognized by Board of Intermediate Education, Govt. of A.P. and Under Graduate Diploma in Physical Education (U.G.D.P.Ed.) of One or Two years duration/ Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.) of duration not less than Two years (or equivalent) from any NCTE Recognized Institution.

  • Candidates must have passed Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent (or) Bachelor’s Degree with Physical Education an elective subject (or) Graduate in Physical Education (BPE) at least Three years duration and Under Graduate Diploma in Physical Education (U.G.D.P.Ed.) of one or two years duration/ Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed) of duration not less than two years (or equivalent) from any NCTE Recognized Institution.

[B] School Assist - Physical Education Teacher

  • The candidate must have passed a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent (or) Bachelor’s Degree with Physical Education as an elective subject (or) Graduate in Physical Education (BPE) of at least Three years duration.

  • The candidates must have passed Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) of at least one-year duration course from NCTE Recognized University/ Institution.

Important Note:

  • The candidates pursuing final year of Diploma in elementary education (D.Ed)/ Undergraduate Diploma in Physical Education (U.G.D.P.Ed)/ Diploma in Physical Education(D.P.Ed)/Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)/Language Pandit Training/Bachelor of PhysicalEducation etc, are also eligible to appear for TET exam whereas candidates cannot appear for Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) with this TET certificate, unless the candidates acquire requisite qualification.

  • Diploma/Degree in Teacher Education or Degree in physical education will be considered only if the courses are recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.Ed. (Special Education) will also be considered if the courses are recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

  • Intermediate qualification from Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) of Andhra Pradesh State or its equivalent as recognized by Board of Intermediate Education(BIE), Andhra Pradesh State only shall be considered, also the Bachelor’s Degree of a University Recognized by UGC will be considered.


APTET 2019 Application Process

  • The Candidate should be ready with a photograph of size 3.5X3.5cms before filling in the online application. Paste the photograph on a white paper and sign below (sign in Black Ink only). Ensure that the signature is within the box.

  • The entire image consisting of the photo along with signature is required to be scanned and stored in *.jpeg format on a local machine. Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50kb.

  • Applications with no photo/ unclear photo/ inadequate size photograph will be rejected. Hall-Ticket will not be issued to such candidates. Hence, after pressing the 'UPLOAD' button check if the photo is of the required size, clear and is of the same candidate of whom the details are to be filled in the application. If the photo is smaller in size, not clear or does not belong to the candidate press 'BACK' button below the photograph on the application form and restart with the scanning of the photograph.

  • Complaints relating to mismatch of photograph and candidate details will not be accepted after submission of application at any cost.

  • Initial steps to be followed before filling Online Application Form.

    • Go to APTET Official Website: cse.ap.gov.in

    • Click on Application Form.

    • Click on the dialogue box (i.e., WELCOME TO ONLINE APPLICATION)

    • Confirm the next dialogue box (i.e., Fields marked with ‘*’ are compulsory)

    • Enter your Journal Number issued by Payment Gateway, the date of payment of fees and Date of birth.

    • At the field ‘Attach your latest photograph' Click on Browse button and attach your scanned photograph and signature.

    • Tick the declaration and enter the verification code.

    • Press Upload

    • The application will be opened.

    • When the application form is opened check if the photo is of the required size, clear and is of the same candidate of whom the details are to be filled in the application. If the photo is not as per the specifications press 'BACK' button below the photograph on the application form and restart with the scanning of the photograph.

    • Confirm that the photograph is yours and that it is as per the given specifications

    • Fill in the application form clearly and correctly as per the instructions.

    • After filling all the details press PREVIEW button. This will display the details submitted by the applicant.

    • If the applicant finds all the details correct press SUBMIT otherwise press EDIT and resubmit the information.

    • On submission of online application form, the candidate shall be given reference ID number which should be kept carefully for any kind of future reference. Submission of the application can be considered to be completed only on receiving a reference ID number.

    • On completion of submission, the candidates shall take a printout of the application and store it for future use.


APTET 2019 Application Form

  • Online Fee Payment: The eligible candidates shall register by paying the fee of INR 500 per each paper through payment gateway between May 5, 2019 to May 23, 2019. Candidates shall pay the fee online through Net banking, Debit card, Credit Card of any Nationalized bank.

  • Online Application form Submission: Candidates will be issued with the 'Journal Number' with which the applicant can proceed with the submission of application form. The issue of Journal Number does not mean that the candidate has completed submission of application online. It is only a confirmation of the fee received. Online Application form Submission can be done from May 5, 2019 to May 23, 2019

  • Documents Upload: Candidates have to upload the scanned copy of recently taken passport size photograph and signature as per the instructed dimension.


APTET 2019 Exam Centres

  • The APTET 2018 shall be conducted ONLINE TEST.

  • The test will be conducted in 13 districts and centres at Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai on test dates (i.e. June 10, 2019 to June 21, 2019 ).

  • A window will be opened to the Candidates from 25.05.2019 to 29.05.2019 to opt the DISTRICT and session in the available centres indicated.

  • If once the session capacity of the centres is exhausted then the candidate should choose another date and another session at available districts.

  • If the candidate failed to opt Examination centre in the specified dates, the department will allocate the examination centre in the available vacancies.

  • Request for the change of test centres or sessions is not allowed under any circumstances.

  • Note: Test centres are allocated based on the first-cum-first-serve basis.


APTET 2019 Admit Card

  • Candidates can download the admit card

  • Admit cards are made available from June 3, 2019 onwards.

  • In case of any candidate could not download the Hall ticket he/she should contact the Joint Director, TET of Commissioner of School Education, Anjaneya Towers, Ibrahimpatnam between 10.00 AM to 5.30 PM on all working hours in person only giving details of the journal number of the fee paid, the reference number of the application submitted, a copy of the printout of the Application form and one photograph (same photograph as pasted on the application form).

  • Request for issue of duplicate Hall Ticket will not be entertained after the examination in any case.


APTET 2019 Exam Pattern

  • All questions will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) type, each carrying One Mark, with four alternatives out of which One Answer will be correct. There will be no Negative Marking.

  • Mode of Examination: Online

  • The Latest Guidelines regarding the Computer Based Test

    • The APTET 2019 is a Computer Based Test.

    • Every candidate will be provided with a computer and are required to enter the login details to proceed with the exam

    • The candidates can make changes in their answers anytime during the examination

    • A countdown timer will be running on the top right corner of the computer screen.

    • When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end by itself.

  • APTET shall have 2 Papers

    • Paper-I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes I to V.

    • Paper-II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes VI to VIII.

  • No. of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)– 150.

  • Duration of Examination: 2½ hours.

  • Each question carries 1 Mark.

APTET 2019 Syllabus

Papers: There will be Two Papers for the TET, Paper-I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes I to V, Paper-II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes VI to VIII. A person who intends to be a Teacher either for Classes I to V or for Classes VI to VIII shall have to appear in both Papers.

APTET 2019 Paper-I Syllabus

  • The test portions on Child Development & Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the primary level.

    • Language–I of APTET Paper-I: Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Odiya are offered as First Language in the schools under the states syllabus. Candidates have to choose among these 6 languages and he/she must have studied that language as a study medium or first language up to class X.

  • The candidates who studied CBSE/ ICSE curriculum can choose the Language which they studied up to Class X.

  • The Language-II shall be English for all the candidates.

  • The syllabus for Language-I & II shall be based on Proficiency in the language, Elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.

  • The syllabi for Mathematics & Environmental Studies are designed on the basis of topics of Classes I to V.

APTET 2019 Paper-II(A) and Paper-II(B) Syllabus

  • The test portions on Child Development & Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the Elementary level for Paper-II (A) Physical Education Pedagogy for Paper-II (B) will focus on Elementary level.

  • As Language-I other than Language teachers has to choose among Telugu, Urdu, Kannada, English, Hindi, Tamil, Odia, and Sanskrit, Candidate must have studied the chosen language as a study medium or first language up to class X.

  • The candidates who studied CBSE/ ICSE curriculum can choose the Language which they studied up to Class X.

  • Language Teachers have to choose the Language of their study in Pandit Training concerned under Language-I of TET Paper II-(A).

  • For Physical Education Teacher a candidate has to choose one among five Languages Telugu, Urdu, Tamil, Odiya, Kannada as Language_I of TET Paper-II (B).

  • The syllabus for Language-I & II for Paper-II(A) shall be based on proficiency in the Language, Elements of Language, Communication and Comprehension abilities.

  • For Physical Education Teachers the syllabus for Language-I & II shall be based on proficiency in the Language, Elements of Language, Communication and Comprehension abilities.

  • Click on Results.

    • Enter Admit Card number and Date of Birth.

    • Click on Get Result.

  • APTET Results 2019 will be announced on June 30, 2019 on their Official website.

  • Candidates shall check their results and take a print out of the result sheet for further reference.
