AP TET (Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) is an entrance examination conducted to shortlist aspirants for the post of teacher. The teacher selected is assigned to various Government/ ZP/ MP/ Municipal/ Recognised Private Aided & Private Unaided schools for classes I to VIII. AP TET is conducted by the Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, in all 13 districts of the state.

About AP TET 2023

Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (AP TET) is a state-level entrance test conducted by the Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, to ensure national standards and benchmark of Teacher quality in the recruitment process in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

AP TET 2023 will be conducted online as a Computer-based Test (CBT) in 13 different districts in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The question paper will consist of 2 papers, i.e., Paper I and Paper II, where paper II will be further subdivided into Paper II-A and Paper II-B.

AP TET 2023 Exam notification will be released on the official website. Candidates can check out AP TET 2023 important dates for the August session in the table below. Session I will be conducted from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, and Session II will be conducted from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM.

AP TET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The candidate's application might be rejected at any time during the process of admission if the candidate is found to be ineligible for the examination. AP TET 2023 eligibility criteria is structured by the Department of School Education, Andhra Pradesh. Applicants must go through AP TET 2023 eligibility before filling out the application form. Eligibility criteria for various papers are different and the same has been listed below.

The qualification required for Paper I, Paper II-A and Paper II-B is given below.

AP TET 2023 Qualification for Paper I (Class I-V)

The candidates must have passed 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)/ 2 - year Diploma in Education (Special Education)/ Intermediate / Senior Secondary with minimum 50% marks for general category candidates and 45% marks for SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates.

OR

The candidates must have passed 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education. (B.El.Ed.) / 2 - year Diploma in Education (Special Education) in case of the candidates, who have passed or admitted to D.El.Ed / D.Ed., course prior to the issue of these guidelines/ Intermediate / Senior Secondary with minimum 45% marks for general category candidates and 40% marks for SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates.

AP TET 2023 Qualification for Paper II-A (Class VI-VIII)

The qualification required to apply for the different Teacher posts for Paper II-A are as follows.

Mathematics and Science/ Social Teacher

The candidate must have passed in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Course/ Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) – Special Education in concerned subject with minimum 50% marks for general category candidates and 45% marks for SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates.

The candidates must have passed 4-years B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed with minimum 50% marks for general category candidates and 45% marks for SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates.

Language Teacher

Graduation with concerned Language as one of the optional subjects (OR) Bachelor Degree of Oriental Language (or its equivalent) (OR) Graduation in Literature (OR) Post Graduation in Language concerned AND Language Pandit Training Certificate/ B.Ed with Language concerned as one of the Methodologies, in respect of Language Teachers.

Qualification for Paper II-B (Class VI-VIII)

The qualification required to apply for the different Teacher posts for Paper II-B are as follows.

Physical Education Teacher

Candidates must have passed Intermediate Certificate issued by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (or) Equivalent certificate recognized by Board of Intermediate Education, Govt. of A.P. and Under Graduate Diploma in Physical Education (U.G.D.P.Ed.) of One or Two years, duration/ Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.) of duration not less than two years (or equivalent) from any NCTE Recognized Institution.

Candidates must have passed Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent (or) Bachelor’s Degree with Physical Education an elective subject (or) Graduate in Physical Education (BPE) at least three years duration and Under Graduate Diploma in Physical Education (U.G.D.P.Ed.) of one or two years, duration/ Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed) of duration not less than two years (or equivalent) from any NCTE Recognized Institution.

School Assist - Physical Education Teacher

The candidate must have passed a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent (or) Bachelor’s Degree with Physical Education as an elective subject (or) Graduate in Physical Education (BPE) of at least three years duration.

The candidates must have passed Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) of at least one-year duration course from NCTE Recognized University/ Institution.

Important Notes on AP TET 2023 Eligibility

The candidates pursuing final year of Diploma in elementary education (D.Ed)/ Undergraduate Diploma in Physical Education (U.G.D.P.Ed)/ Diploma in Physical Education(D.P.Ed)/Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)/Language Pandit Training/Bachelor of physical education etc, are also eligible to appear for TET exam whereas candidates cannot appear for Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) with this TET certificate unless the candidates acquire requisite qualification.

Diploma/Degree in Teacher Education or Degree in physical education will be considered only if the courses are recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.Ed. (Special Education) will also be considered if the courses are recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

An intermediate qualification from Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) of Andhra Pradesh State or its equivalent as recognized by Board of Intermediate Education(BIE), Andhra Pradesh State only shall be considered, also the Bachelor’s Degree of a University Recognized by UGC will be considered.

AP TET 2023 Application Form

AP TET 2023 application form for August session will be released on the official website tentatively in Jun 2023. The last date to pay the application fee and the last date to submit the application form will be notified thereafter. The application process for AP TET includes registration, online fee payment as well as uploading the required documents.

Online Fee Payment: The eligible candidates can register by paying the fee of INR 500 per paper through the payment gateway. Candidates should pay the fee online through net banking, debit card, or credit card of any nationalized bank.

Online Application form Submission: The Candidate ID will be generated after the application fee payment is complete with which the applicant can proceed with the submission of the application form. The issue of the Candidate ID does not mean that the candidate has completed the submission of application online. It is only a confirmation of the fee received. 

Documents Upload: Candidates must upload the scanned copy of recently taken passport size photograph and signature as per the instructed dimension.

Documents Required for AP TET 2023 Application

The candidate should be ready with a photograph of size 3.5 cms X 3.5 cms before filling in the online application. Paste the photograph on a white paper and sign below (sign in Black Ink only). Ensure that the signature is within the box. The entire image consisting of the photo along with signature is required to be scanned and stored in *.jpeg format on a local machine. Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50 KB.

Applications with no photo/ unclear photo/ inadequate size photograph will be rejected. Hall ticket will not be issued to such candidates. Hence, after clicking on the 'Upload' button check if the photo is of the required size, clear and is of the same candidate for whom the details are to be filled in the application.

If the photo is smaller in size, not clear or does not belong to the candidate press the 'Back' button below the photograph on the application form and restart with the scanning of the photograph. Complaints relating to mismatch of photograph and candidate details will not be accepted after submission of application at any cost.

How to Fill AP TET 2023 Application Form?

The steps to be followed to fill the AP TET 2023 online application form includes,

  • Step 1: Go to AP TET Official Website.
  • Step 2: Click on the Payment option to pay the application fee.
  • Step 3: Complete the payment of the application fee by filling in all the required details on the Payment Form.
  • Step 4: The Candidate ID will be generated upon successful payment of the application fee.
  • Step 5: Click on the 'Candidate Login' next to the Application option on the homepage.
  • Step 6: Log in using the Candidate ID and date of birth.
  • Step 7: Go through the instructions and fill out the application form with correct details.
  • Step 8: After filling out the application form, upload the required documents in the specified size and format.
  • Step 9: Check the application form for mistakes, and submit the form if the details entered are correct.
  • Step 10: Download and take printout of the application form for future reference.

AP TET 2023 Admit Card

AP TET 2023 admit card will be released on the official website. Candidates can download the admit card using their login credentials. In case any candidate cannot download the hall ticket, they should contact the Joint Director, TET of Commissioner of School Education, Anjaneya Towers, Ibrahimpatnam between 10.00 AM to 5.30 PM.

Steps to Download the AP TET Admit Card 2023

Candidates can check the below-mentioned steps to download the AP TET 2023 admit card.

  • Step 1: Open the AP TET official website - aptet.apcfss.in 
  • Step 2: Click on the 'Candidates Login' tab on the home page.
  • Step 3: Next, log in using the created credentials such as “Candidate ID and date of birth” and enter the given verification code and click login button
  • Step 4: Click the AP TET 2023 hall ticket link
  • Step 5: Your AP TET admit card will appear
  • Step 6: Download and keep a printout of the AP TET admit card 2023 for next process.

Note: Request for issue of duplicate hall ticket will not be entertained after the examination in any case.

AP TET 2023 Exam Centres

AP TET 2023 exam centre option service will be released by AP DSE on the official website. Candidates can use this facility to select AP TET 2023 exam centres and shifts according to their convenience and preferences. AP TET 2023 exam will be conducted online in 13 districts and centres at Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai on test dates. If once the session capacity of the centres is exhausted then the candidate should choose another date and another session at available districts.

If the candidate fails to opt for the examination centre in the specified dates, the department will allocate the examination centre in the available vacancies. Request for the change of test centres or sessions is not allowed under any circumstances.

Note: AP TET 2023 test centres are allocated based on the first-cum-first-serve basis.

AP TET 2023 Syllabus

There will be 2 papers for AP TET 2023, Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes I to V, Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes VI to VIII. A person who intends to be a Teacher either for Classes I to V or for Classes VI to VIII shall have to appear for both Papers.

AP TET 2023 Paper I Syllabus

The test portions on Child Development & Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the primary level.

Language–I of AP TET Paper I: Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Odiya are offered as first language in the schools under the state's syllabus. Candidates have to choose among these 6 languages and they must have studied that language as a study medium or first language up to class X.

The candidates who studied CBSE/ ICSE curriculum can choose the Language which they studied up to Class X. The Language-II shall be English for all the candidates. The syllabus for Language papers I and II shall be based on Proficiency in the Language, Elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.

The syllabi for Mathematics & Environmental Studies are designed on the basis of topics of Classes I to V.

AP TET 2023 Paper II-A & Paper II-B Syllabus

The test portions on Child Development & Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the Elementary level for Paper II-A Physical Education Pedagogy for Paper II-B will focus on Elementary level.

As Language-I other than Language teachers have to choose among Telugu, Urdu, Kannada, English, Hindi, Tamil, Odia, and Sanskrit, Candidate must have studied the chosen language as a study medium or first language up to class X. The candidates who studied CBSE/ ICSE curriculum can choose the language which they studied up to Class X.

Language Teachers have to choose the Language of their study in Pandit Training concerned under Language-I of TET Paper II-A.

For Physical Education Teacher a candidate has to choose one among five Languages Telugu, Urdu, Tamil, Odiya, Kannada as Language_I of TET Paper-II (B).

The syllabus for Language papers I and II for Paper II-A shall be based on proficiency in the Language, Elements of Language, Communication and Comprehension abilities. For Physical Education Teachers the syllabus for Language papers I and II shall be based on proficiency in the Language, Elements of Language, Communication and Comprehension abilities.

AP TET 2023 Mock Tests

Department of School Education (DSC), Government of Andhra Pradesh will also release the online mock test links for APTET 2023 soon. The AP TET mock test 2023 links will be released separately for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates can attempt the Andhra Pradesh TET mock tests in the allotted time and in the same format as the final exam.

AP TET 2023 Paper Analysis

AP TET 2023 paper analysis for the exams will be released on the official website. The Department of School Education, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, conducts the exam in two shifts, in around 13 exam centres in the state to recruit class 1 to 5 teachers in government schools, private aided and unaided schools, Mandal Parishad, and Zilla Parishad schools in Andhra Pradesh.

AP TET 2023 final answer key for both papers 1 and 2 will be released on the official website after considering the objections raised against the provisional answer key. AP TET 2023 provisional answer key will be released before the final answer key.

AP TET 2023 exam will tentatively be conducted in Aug 2023. The response sheet for the exam will be released after the exam is conducted. Candidates can download their APTET 2023 answer key from the official website as PDF files.

What is the qualifying marks for AP TET?

The qualifying marks for candidates belonging to General category is 60%. For OBC candidates it is 50%, and for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD it is 40%.

What is the exam pattern of AP TET?

AP TET has two papers namely paper-1 and paper-2. Candidates who are willing to teach for class-1 to class-5 should write paper-1, and candidates who want to teach for class-6 to class-8 should take up paper-2.
