Introduction to KSET 2019

  • About KSET: Karnataka State Eligibility Test is conducted by the University of Mysore, Mysore is recognized as Nodal Agency from UGC, New Dehli. KSET is conducted for Lectureship or Assistant Professor Post.

  • About UGC: UGC Stands for University Grands Commission of India, it is a statutory body set up by the Indian Union government in accordance to the UGC Act 1956 under Ministry of Human Resource Development, and is charged with coordination, determination, and maintenance of standards of higher education.

  • Conducting Authority: From 2010 [7th September 2010] the University of Mysore is conducting KSET and is re accreditated for the third time on 2016 [14th September 2016] to conduct three tests from 2016 to 2018.

  • Level: KSET is a State Level Test Conducted only in Karnataka.

  • Frequency: KSET is Conducted only Once in a Year.

  • Exam Paper: The Test will be conducted in two Individual Papers, the type of questions in both the papers is Multiple Choice.

  • Validity of Certificate: The Certificate issued by the University for the eligible candidate will have the lifetime validity.

KSET 2019 Important Dates

  • Registration: Candidates shall Register Online for KSET 2019 through Official Website from 23rd August 2019 to 29th September 2019.

  • Correction Window: There is no chance of making changes is any of the options that are given once.

  • Admit Card: Candidates shall download the admit card after the successful registration up to 29th September 2019.

  • Examination: KSET 2019 is expected to be conducted on 30th December 2019. 

  • Result: Candidates can check the results from the official website on 4th March 2019.

KSET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates who have secured at least 55% of marks for general category and 50% for Schedule Category (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PWD), OBCs [Cat-I, IIA, IIB, IIIA and IIIB], in Master's Degree OR equivalent examination from universities / institutions recognized by UGC New Delhi, in the subjects opted for KSET.

  • Candidates who are pursuing their Master's Degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their Master's Degree (Final Year) examination and waiting for result or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test.

  • However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and for those who clear the KSET, eligibility certificate will be issued only on production of proof for having passed the Master's degree or equivalent examination securing at least 55% marks (50% in case of SC, ST, OBC [Cat- I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB] and PWD candidates) within two years from the date of KSET result, failing which they will be treated as disqualified.
  • Candidates shall appear for KSET in their relevant subject of their post-graduation only, in case the candidate did not find the subject of his/her post graduation in the list of KSET subjects, the candidate may appear in UGC-NET / UGC-CSIR NET which is held twice a year.

  • OBCs (SC, ST & Other Backward Classes) category candidates appear for KSET other than Karnataka State shall apply under General Category (GM) only.
  • A candidate who became eligible in Previous KSETs is not eligible to apply again in the same subject. If any candidate found to be eligible in previous KSET tests and reappearing on the same subject in current KSET, their candidature will be canceled and the previous eligibility is withdrawn through de-notification.

  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit to apply for KSET 2019


KSET 2019 Application Form

  • Registration: Candidates shall register themselves through Online Application Process from the Official Website from 23rd August 2019 to 29th September 2019 

  • Registration Fee: Candidate will have to pay INR 150 extra as a penalty if he/she apply online after the last date for applying till the extended period. Candidates can pay the registration fee both from the Online mode of Payment or Offline mode

    • Online Payment: Payment can be made through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or e-wallet payment.

    • Offline Payment: Payment shall be made to SBI bank only the challen can be generated online and pay at any SBI branch.

  • Document to Upload: Candidate shall upload a Scanned Photograph of him/her who is appearing for KSET 2019 with the dimension 4.5cm to 3.5cm   and of jpg formate whose size is less than 200kb.

KSET 2019 Application Process

  • The candidate who wishes to take KSET 2019 shall apply online through the official website.

  • Candidates should register (sign up for registration) giving required E-mail id & password.

  • Candidates then proceed to give their personal, educational and KSET exam details, while mentioning their educational qualification they should mention their PG course as Passed or appearing as the case may be.

  • Payments towards KSET fee including bank charges must be deposited to KSET accounts through KSET website or in any of the nearest State Bank of India branch.

  • After TWO WORKING DAYS from the date of payment, candidates have to log in with their email ID and password for downloading the Application Form and can take the printout of the 3 sheets of the application form (hard copy) in A-4 size paper,

    • Application Form: to be submitted to the Nodal center chosen by the candidate

    • Attendance Slip: to be submitted to the Nodal center chosen by the candidate

    • Admission Card: to be retained by the candidate

  • A hard copy of the application form should be submitted to the respective Nodal center along with e-challan (for cash payment) or receipt generated through online payment, along with attested copies of:

    • SSLC Marks Card.

    • SC, ST, OBCs (Cat-I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB) and PWD certificates

    • Proof of qualifying examination certificate and final PG Degree Marks Card. (For those who apply under appearing may submit the same after passing the qualifying examination).

    • Affix his/her passport size photo at the place indicated on the hard copy of application form and must sign across the photograph. It should also duly be attested by the gazetted officer with seal.

  • Candidates should compulsorily submit the hard copy of application along with all other related documents in an A4 size cover, superscribed as [ Application for KSET 2019], within the last date for submission to the concerned Nodal Centers. Application received after the last date will not be considered.

  • Printout of admission card should be retained by the candidate and bring on the day of examination. NO Admission card will be issued separately either by the Nodal centers or by KSET center.

  • Candidates should compulsorily bring the valid Photo ID to the examination center without fail.


KSET 2019 Admit Card

  • Availability of Admit Card: Candidates shall download the admit card in the Official website from 29th September 2019.

  • Candidates are issued admit cards if they duly fill and submit the application form.

  • Once the Application fee payment is done the candidates are allowed to download the Admit Card.

    • Visit the Official Website and click on Download Admit Card link.

    • Enter the Application Number and Login. 

    • Download the Admit Card and Take the Print Out.

  • Candidates shall compulsorily carry the Admit card along with the photo identity proof to the examination hall.


KSET 2019 Examination Centre

  • KSET 2019 shall be conducted in 11 different test centers

  • Candidates shall know their exam center along with the test center code while their Admi Card is generated.

KSET 2019 Exam Pattern

  • KSET is conducted in 2 papers on same day.

  • Paper I consist of questions General Knowledge and Aptitude.

  • Paper II consists of questions based on the Subject selected by the candidate.

  • All the questions in both the papers will be of Multiple Choice Questions.

  • Candidates who do not attend the first session test will not be allowed to attend the second session.

  • KSTE is offline mode examination, candidates shall the answers in the Optical Marks Reader (OMR) sheet provided with the test booklet.
