UPESMET MBA counselling 2023 process will be held for candidates who are shortlisted via the rank list. Soon after the results of UPESMET 2023 are declared, the selection process will commence. Shortlisted candidates will be allowed to take part in the counselling process by registering online.

UPESMET 2023 Counselling
The candidates will find their eligibility based on the release of the results. The counselling process will be held in 2 stages: the Group Discussion and the Personal Interview. Those who complete the first round will be asked to produce the documents and then move to the final stage.
Candidates will be personally called for the interview process. The process will include a document verification procedure as well. Shortlisted candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks needed to clear the exam. The counselling rounds will include the following events.
Group Discussion: GD/ PI will be for students who have cleared UPESMET. There will be a group discussion round where various qualifying students are tested on their communication skills, initiative abilities, and more.
Personal Interview: The candidates will have to address the panel of interviewers to assess their communication and test their knowledge on said matters. General aptitude and general awareness will be challenged in this round.
Note: The cumulative score will decide the candidate's admission into the course. GD/ PI will tentatively begin one month after UPESMET 2023 results declaration.

UPESMET 2023 Counselling Procedure
The procedure for counselling will include group discussions aimed at testing the candidate's communicative skills who have secured the qualifying marks. The procedure also includes documents verifications where candidates must submit the original documents. Then the process will continue to personal interview for all candidates who qualify through the GD round.
The breakdown of the process is given below.
- Step 1: Once a candidate successfully clears the UPESMET 2023, there is a group discussion session at UPES, Dehradun, that is mandatory to be attended.
- Step 2: Post GD, there is a counselling session at the centres in Mumbai, Kolkata, and Delhi, wherein the verification of all documents submitted during the Application Process takes place.
- Step 3: Depending on the rank, the counselling sessions occur for every candidate who has applied for the UPESMET examination. In addition, a personal interview is mandatory.

UPESMET 2023 Counselling for Uttarakhand Bonafide Resident Candidates
15% of the seats in all programs will be reserved for residents of Uttarakhand subject to production of 'Sthai Niwas Praman Patra' (Permanent Residence Certificate) issued by the competent authority of Uttarakhand state. These seats will be allotted based on the merit order in this category, provided the candidate has declared the intent to opt under this category when applying for admission.
Note: Candidates applying under this category would be required to produce the original 'Sthai Niwas Praman Patra' during the day of admission, failing which their candidature shall stand cancelled.
