What is DCET?

The full form of DCET is Diploma Common Entrance Test. Karnataka Examination Authority conducts the DCET every year. Qualifying candidates are shortlisted for 2nd-year undergraduate engineering and 1st-year architecture programs. The candidates who qualify for the exam will be eligible for admission in both day and evening colleges in Karnataka.

DCET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Karnataka Education Authority sets the DCET eligibility criteria. The candidates need to know about the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. Below is the given information regarding eligibility for various courses.

BE courses (Day/ Evening Engineering Colleges)

  • The candidates must have passed the diploma from a recognized university with 45% marks.
  • For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the minimum passing mark is 40%.
  • The candidates must also have full-time work experience for 2 years from a recognized government or private firm/company/industry

B.Arch Courses (Day Engineering College)

  • The candidates should have secured at least 40% in NATA 2021 conducted by the Council of Architecture.
  • All applicants must have qualified for the final diploma exam (or equivalent) with at least 50% aggregate marks combined. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, native to Karnataka, require 45% marks.

DCET 2021 Application Form

The DCET 2021 application form will be available on the official website of KEA. The candidates can fill and submit the form before the last date. Candidates must make sure to enter the correct details while filling the application form.

How to fill the DCET application form 2021?

Given below is the procedure to fill the DECT online application form 2021. While filling the form, candidates must make sure to fill in all needed details. All documents should be uploaded in the prescribed format only. Also, a mandatory application fee should be paid. Only completed applications will be considered for admission.

  1. Go to the official website (cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea).
  2. On the homepage, click on DCET 2021.
  3. Click on the new registration tab.
  4. Fill in all details and register. On successful registration, candidates will receive an application id and password through the registered mail or mobile no.
  5. Log in using the credentials and enter the required information on the application form.
  6. Upload all needed documents.
  7. Upload a recent passport-sized photograph, parent's signature, and left thumb impression.
  8. After filling the application form, the candidates are advised to cross-check the filed details, submit their application form, and pay the application fee.
  9. Take a printout of the application form and the fee receipt.

DCET 2021 Answer Key

After the commencement of the exam, the conducting authority releases the answer key. The answer key is the solution to the questions asked in the exam. The candidates can access the key by logging into the official website. The DCET answer key will be published twice. The first answer key is known as the provisional answer key. Once the final answer key is released candidates can calculate their secured marks.

DCET 2021 Counselling

After the results are announced for DCET, the candidates who qualify for the exam will be eligible for the counselling process. Candidates have to report to the counselling centre at the given date and time along with the necessary documents.
