What is the JEMAT Exam?

Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test (JEMAT), also known as WBJEMAT, is a state-level entrance examination conducted for admission into MBA, MHA, and PG Diploma in Management.

  • Conducting Body: JEMAT is run by the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (MAKAUTWB), formerly known as the West Bengal University of Technology on behalf of the State Government as per the guidelines framed by AICTE and policy framework laid down by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
  • Level: JEMAT is a state-level competitive entrance exam recognized and accepted by all the Government and Private Management Institutions in the State of West Bengal for offering admissions into courses like MBA, MHA and PG Diploma in Management.
  • Frequency: JEMAT is conducted once every year.
  • Exam Date & Mode: JEMAT 2021 will be conducted Offline, i.e. Pen & Paper-based

JEMAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The candidate's application can be cancelled at any time during admission if the candidate is found to be ineligible for the examination. Applicants must go through the JEMAT 2021 eligibility criteria listed below before filling the application form. Below are some of the eligibility standards that an individual must satisfy to appear for the JEMAT exam 2021.

  • Educational Qualification:
    • The candidate must have passed Bachelor's Degree in Arts/ Science/ Commerce/ Engineering/ Technology/ Medical/ Dental/ Agriculture with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university.
    • The candidates appearing in the final year examination of the programs mentioned above or equivalent are also eligible to apply for JEMAT. However, degrees acquired through any distance education program are not eligible.
    • Candidates in the final year will be granted provisional admission and will have to submit their final mark sheet before a prescribed deadline.
  • Age Limit: There is no specific age limit to apply for JEMAT.
  • Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen. If the candidate is from outside India, then they should submit the nationality certificate. If the candidate is from Bhutan or Nepal, they must submit a NOC from their High Commission.
  • The number of attempts: The candidates can appear for the test infinite times.

JEMAT 2021 Registration

The JEMAT 2021 application form will be available on the official website, i.e. jemat.eadmissions.net, from April, 2021. Candidates need to register themselves with their respective valid email ID and contact number. In addition, all other required details like educational and personal details should be uploaded by the applicant within the form. 

The application process for the JEMAT 2021 is entirely online. Therefore, there will be no other application form available for the examination.

How to apply online JEMAT 2021?

The candidates can apply for JEMAT 2021 through online mode on the official website. The participants has to upload all the previous academic data and their signature. The candidates must not make errors as they can lead to termination of the applicant during the counselling. 

The steps are as follows:

  • Step 1: Visit the official Website.
  • Step 2: Click on the registration
  • Step 3: Select the Form 1- c
  • Step 4: Fill in the information like Name, Email ID, Phone number, category, domicile. Fill The form carefully as it will not be available for corrections.
  • Step 5: click the submit button and download the form for future use.

Note: Do not submit a hard copy of the application.

JEMAT 2021 Admit Card

Admit cards will be available online for candidates from Jul 28, 2021onwards. JEMAT 2021 Admit cards will not be sent to the test-takers through post or email. Admit card will be made available for download from the scheduled date. Registered candidates can download their Admit cards by using their Application Number and Password. The steps to download admit card is given below:

  • Step 1: Visit the official website.
  • Step 2: Enter the login ID
  • Step 3: The admit card will appear on the screen.
  • Step 4: The candidate can download and print the admit card for future use.

Identity Verification: The candidates should carry the current valid photo identity issued by the government (bearing the same name as it appears on the Hall Ticket), which should be submitted to the invigilator for verification.

Details: The details present in the JEMAT 2021 admit card is the name of the student, date of birth, registration number, exam centre, exam date, and exam time.

The admit card contains important information such as registration number, exam Centre, etc. and this information is also required to check the result.

JEMAT 2021 Exam Centres

JEMAT is conducted in the selected cities in the state of West Bengal. In addition, JEMAT will be conducted across 11 centres (Kolkata, Salt Lake, Hooghly, Madhyamgram, Kalyani, Haldia, Berhampur, Siliguri, Kharagpur, Durgapur).

  • Preference: A candidate appearing for JEMAT shall give their choice for the centre. However, the Competent Authority reserves the right to allocate the centre and venue.
  • Note: No request for change of centre/venue/date/session for examination shall be entertained.

JEMAT 2021 Exam Pattern

The JEMAT 2021 exam pattern is an objective test consisting of only Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The test is conducted in offline mode. The JEMAT 2021 exam has 100 questions which are further divided into three sections - Mathematics, English and Logical Reasoning.

  • Sections: The question paper consists of 3 areas which include English, Mathematics, and Logical Reasoning.
  • Duration: The time given to complete the examination will be 2 hours, i.e. 120 minutes.
  • No. of Questions: English - 40, Mathematics - 40, and Logical Reasoning - 20.
  • Marking Scheme: +1 marks will be given for the correct answers, and -0.25 marks will be reduced for incorrect answers and no negative marking for unanswered questions.
  • Medium: The question paper will be in English.

JEMAT 2021 Syllabus

Candidates must know the syllabus of JEMAT 2021 in detail. Going through the JEMAT 2021 syllabus will help the aspirant understand what to study and what not to study for the examination. Mathematics Section

The Mathematics section of JEMAT is a long subject and is considered difficult compared to other subjects. The candidates are advised to take mathematics especially seriously and learn as it has a weightage of 40 marks out of 100.

English Section

The English though is short compared to Mathematics, it is a large section on the question paper with long passages and fill in the blanks. The candidate has to learn effectively as English has a weightage of 40% as well.

JEMAT 2021 Results

The result will be declared on the official website for all the candidates. The candidates will need their registration number and password to access their JEMAT 2021 result.

  • Scorecard: The candidates who have appeared for the exam can download their JEMAT 2021 results using their login credentials.
  • Tie break:
    • Profile: The candidate's educational background is analyzed, and the best one is given the position.
    • Work experience: This will be used as the second parameter. Students who have higher work experience in a managerial position will be given higher marks, and the seat will be allotted.
    • Age: This is the last step; the student older in age will be given the heart.
  • Cut-off: JEMAT 2021 Cutoff is the minimum cut off marks that must be secured by the candidate so that they can appear for the further rounds of GD/ PI.
  • Shortlisted: The shortlisted candidates will be called for GD/ PI, followed by counselling.

JEMAT 2021 Cut-off 

 Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal, will release the JEMAT 2021 cutoff after the result declaration. JEMAT 2021 cutoff is the minimum marks required by the candidates to qualify for selection rounds. The cutoff marks will be different for various institutes. JEMAT 2021 cutoff release date has not been announced yet. Once it is released, the JEMAT 2021 cutoff date will be updated here. Candidates have to qualify and clear the minimum cutoff defined by each college and their eligibility requirements.

JEMAT 2021 Preparation

The JEMAT exam takes place two times a year. The students must start their preparation as soon as possible. They must dedicate at least six months to practice and learn the important concepts to prepare well for the JEMAT exam.

  • The participant must study a few hours daily. MBA is all about management, so they need to prepare themselves by making little effort every day.
  • Reading newspapers daily can improve grammar, vocabulary, and reading speed.
  • The candidate must read all the questions given in the JEMAT question paper carefully and then attempt them.

Also, go through previous years' JEMAT question papers and practice them.

JEMAT 2021 Counselling

The Candidates who have cleared the JEMAT 2021 will be called for the JEMAT 2021 counselling process. The participants have to pay the counselling fees at time of registering for counselling. The counselling fee and process is given below

  • Counselling fee: Candidates enlisted in the merit list will have to pay a counseling fee of INR 500.00 at the time of Counseling.
  • Counselling process: Counseling consists of the following phases: General Discussion/ Personal Interview. The candidates have to be on the day of counselling and no date change will be provided.
