Documents for GATE Registration 2026
GATE registration 2026 requires the following documents for the registration process. Keeping these documents in hand to make GATE 2026 registration process easier and more convenient for you:
- Scanned Passport size photograph (specifications mentioned below) and your signature.
- You must possess a valid ID with photos such as an Aadhaar Card/Passport/Driving License/PAN Card/Voter ID/College ID/Employee Identification Card/Notarized. Affidavit with Photo, Signature, Date of Birth, and Residential Address.
- If you are from outside India, you must possess a passport as valid ID proof.
- A graduate degree certificate, provisional certificate, or certificate of course completion is mandatory.
- The mark sheet for the 5th, 6th, and 7th semesters is necessary.
- If you are in the final year, a provisional certificate letter issued by the dean or registrar is mandatory.
- The mark sheet for section A is mandatory for you in the final year of AMIE, in case of professional equivalent qualification.
- Caste, disability, or PwD certificates, if applicable.
- A qualifying degree certificate is mandatory for you pursuing a higher degree or master's course.
- If you have a backlog, you must upload a copy of the final year mark sheet from the current institution.

Payment Issues for the GATE 2026 Registration
If your payment is not reflected in the first go, another payment must not be made immediately.
- You are advised to wait for at least two days before checking the GATE 2026 registration status and making the payment.
- You should only make another payment in the case of an unsuccessful payment.
- If you have paid any extra fees, you will be refunded, with the amount automatically being credited to your respective bank account (which may take a week or more after the closure of GATE Registration).

Forgot Enrollment ID or Password of GATE 2026
Your enrolment id and password may be misplaced in various circumstances. If necessary, an email address can also be utilised to access the GATE registration 2026. To access the GATE registration 2026 form, you have two options:
- Request an OTP: If you know your Enrollment ID/Email Address but have forgotten your Password, click "Request an OTP" to acquire a One Time Password.
- Enter your registered cellphone number and your Enrollment ID/Email Address. To receive a new password, click Reset Password.
- Already have an OTP? : To reset your password, click on "Already have an OTP?" if you already have one. To create a new password, provide the following information:
- Email Address/Enrollment ID
- OTP
- New Password
- Confirm New Password
- Password Requirements: Choose a password that cannot be easily guessed. It should be unique and contain between 8 and 15 characters.
What after GATE 2026 Registration?
If you have successfully complete the GATE registration 2026 will be granted admit cards via the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in. If you have, admit card can take the GATE 2026 exam.
Tentatively by Jan 2026, IIT Guwahati will distribute the GATE 2026 admit card. By logging in using their GATE 2026 exam Enrollment ID/Email ID and password, registered candidates can download their GATE hall ticket.
