Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay is situated in Powai, Bombay and was established in 1958. It was set up with foreign assistance and was the 1st institution to be set up like this. It received funds from UNESCO from the then Soviet Union. In 1961, it was declared as  Institutes of National Importance. It is grown to one of the top colleges providing technical education.

IIT Bombay has collaborations with reputed National and International universities and institutes for research and education purposes. IIT Bombay Ph.D Eligibility

IIT Bombay Cut Off

IIT Bombay cut off is released every academic year for admission to UG, PG and Doctoral courses.  The cut-off for IIT Bombay is released based on the scores scored by students in the national level entrance exam. IIT Bombay cut-off marks 2021 is expected to be 2 for the B.Tech program in Computer Science and Engineering(CSE) field. The cut-off is released gender-wise and category-wise.

IIT Bombay Result

IIT Bombay releases admission and re-exam results every year. IIT Bombay B.Tech students orientation and registration program occur in November. Re-exam of students in 2nd semester of B.Tech program is conducted by 9th July 2021. The last date to complete Ph.D application form is 12 April 2021. Entrance test results for Ph.D students started on 23rd April 2021. The result will be declared on 04 June 2021. The classes will begin on July 27, 2021.  The last date for admission form submission for the M.Tech degree program is April 10, 2021. The admission list will be displayed from May 13 to June 11, 2021, in various offers. The declaration of admission results will start on 4 June 2021.

IIT Bombay Campus

IIT Bombay campus is made upon 550 acres of land and provides all the facilities to its students which helps them to provide quality education to its students. The campus is located far from the concrete jungle of Bombay. The campus is located in between rich flora and fauna. The campus is connected with the city through buses and local trains.  IIT Bombay has a placement record that has an equal footing with the other top IITs in India. The college has very high performance when it comes to placements, with an increase in companies visiting the campus every year to recruit students. In the previous placement session, 1186 job offers were made from 343 companies in total, marking a placement percentage of 84.47% overall and the highest so far. Over 200 placement offers were worth more than INR 16 LPA. The overall average CTC offered was INR 17.49 LPA and included 131 preplacement offers.   • TECHFEST and Mood Indigo are a technical and cultural festival of IITB and both are Asia's largest fests among their genres.

  • Usually, classes and labs get over between 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM. Many times by 5 PM.
  • There are quizzes conducted (around 3) every semester for a course in general ( it may vary with the course ) and mid-semester exams in the middle of the semester and end-semester exams.
  • The quality and method of teaching are excellent. We have the best faculty.
  • There are excellent minds here.The interaction is awesome. You get to learn a lot from the professors, classmates, and your books.
  • However since people study very much, there are some cases where a student gets depressed due to lack of excellent academic performance.

CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS
  • There are many many clubs in IIT Bombay. There are many to name. Dance club (INSYNC), music club, design club, rang club, and much more.
  • Main festivals are Mood Indigo(cult), Techfest(tech), and E-Summit(entrepreneurship).
  • Life is boundless. If you want to do anything here, there is support everywhere. There is nothing you can't do here. People here help each other a lot. It is known for senior-junior interaction.

  • Generally We have our regular classes in the morning from 12-30 pm starting from 8-30 in IIT Bombay. After that usually three-day lab in the evening from 2 to 5 pm. We have two day weekend .
  • Quality of teaching is best . We have lectures , tutorials , quizzes and exam and overall evaluation  is quite strict .

ACADEMICS & FACULTY
  • We mostly have 3-5 hours of class between 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. Some professors do assign projects in their coursework. Officially we have 2 quizzes, one mid-sem, and one final exam, which also vary from prof. to prof., some of whom also give assignments for better understanding of the topics.
  • The quality of teaching is very nice, and the teaching method comprises of lectures with in-class tutorials to enhance problem solving skills of the students.
  • The overall experience of the institute is very good with a great scope for scientific research.

CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS
  • There are many student societies working on various fields; like PG & UG council for respective bodies, Cultural association for cultural development, institute dance club, sports club, Photographic club, mountaineering club, Dramatics association etc. There are many scientific societies and clubs like Robotics club, MSI (Mars Society India), Kritika (for space exploration) etc. working in the campus. Many states also have their respective cultural socities for the advancement of their cultures among the students.
  • For technology there is Techfest (Asia's largest college technological festival), Mood Indigo (Asia's largest college cultural festival), Inter IIT sports (sports meet of all IITs), Avenues (the management school annual festival).
  • The life in college actually vary from person to person, and it also depends on the persons ability to tackle things. Sometimes it seems pressurizing during exams, and chilling during the culturals and festivals. In general, the life in campus is very good; a lot of scope in almost every field, you get enough chance to explore yourself with a lot of enthusiasts in your company.

  • The sports facilities in the campus are great with indoor basketball, volleyball and badminton courts, 6 lawn tennis courts and athletics, football and cricket grunds.
  • For the cultural scene, the Students Activity Centre (SAC) houses the Open Air Theatre most famous for the concerts during Mood Indigo, IIT Bombay's cultural festival.
  • College life in general is awesome.

  • The academic schedule is very good at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
  • There is a lab facility available for the students.
  • The courses offered are relevant and the electives are so many in number to ensure a good choice for the students.
  • Professors are helpful and friendly.

FOREIGN EXCHANGE & INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE
  • The foreign exchange program ( semester exchange ) is one of the best programs for partnering with foreign universities such as Monash University, INSA de Leon, France etc.
  • Language of teaching is English at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay mostly but full attention is given to students weak in the language.
  • The language spoken is English/ Hindi.

SOCIAL ATMOSPHERE
  • There is alcohol usage at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay campus.
  • Parties keep on happening to let students enjoy along with the studies.
  • There are few bars/pubs and restaurants around to make sure the students don't need to go far.
