What is HITSEEE?

Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science Engineering Entrance Exam (HITSEEE) is a university-level exam conducted for providing admissions in B.Tech/ B.Arch. HITSEEE is conducted by Hindustan University, Chennai for students who want to seek admissions in B.Tech/B.Arch courses. The Hindustan Institute of Technology is a part of Hindustan University and has its headquarters in Chennai.

HITSEEE Overview

  • In 1985, it was known as Hindustan College of Engineering. It is founded by K. C. G Verghese and was under the supervision of Anna University. Later, in 2008, the University Grants Commission gave it the deemed status.

  • The B.Tech course offered by the university consists of 4 years and a five-year B.Arch course.

  • Applications for admissions to B.Tech and B.Arch courses for the academic year 2020 are invited by the Hindustan University, Chennai. Hindustan University is inviting online application form for the registration of HITSEEE Exam from class 12th pass aspirants.

  • HITSEEE 2020 will be conducted from April 29, 2020 at different exam centers. Application form for the exam is available from December 11, 2019, HITSEEE 2020 Fees is Rs.925 (Online) and Rs.1000 (Offline).

What is the Eligibility Criteria for HITSEEE?

Candidates applying for HITSEEE should be at least 17 years old and less than 19 years at the time of applying.

Only Indian nationals, residing in India can take up the Exam. There are separate eligibility criteria for course wise. The Educational qualification of the Candidates applying for HITSEEE 2020 is that they should have cleared class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Before applying for the exam the candidates should go through the eligibility criteria which is set by the conducting Authority.


The HITSEEE 2020 Syllabus is decided by the conducting Authority. The Syllabus of HITSEEE Exam mostly comprises of what the students have studied in class 10 and 12.

HITSEEE 2020 Exam will have 3 sections that are Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates can refer to the official website for the syllabus.

How To Register For HITSEEE?

In order to fill up the HITSEEE Application form, candidates will have to register:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website
  • Step 2: Click on the Registration link
  • Step 3: Enter your Name, Email ID, DOB
  • Step 4: Click Submit

How To Apply For HITSEEE?

The candidates who are applying for HITSEEE can follow the steps given below to Apply:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website and login
  • Step 2: Fill up Personal and Educational details
  • Step 3: Upload Signature and Photograph
  • Step 4: Preview the Application Form
  • Step 5: Application Fee payment
  • Step 6: Take a printout of Provisional registration slip.

Application Form

In order to take up HITSEEE Exam, the candidates will have to register and Submit the HITSEEE 2020 Application form. The Application form will be available online and offline. The last date to submit the Registration form is April 22, 2020.

The candidates who pay the Application Fee online will have to pay INR 925 and the candidates who pay offline will have to pay INR 1000.

Documents Required To Apply For HITSEEE

The following are the documents required when a candidate is applying for HITSEEE 2020:

  • Past education details
  • Marksheets of class 10 and 12
  • Image file of Photograph and Signature
  • A valid credit/debit/Net banking for the Application fee payment

Exam Pattern

The HITS will release the paper pattern of HITSEEE before the exam it will have all the details regarding the exam like marking scheme, number of questions, etc. The total number of question in HITSEEE 2020 will be 120. 

The Syllabus will mostly cover the topics which the students have studied in class 10 and 12. Questions will be asked from subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Each of the above-mentioned subjects will have 40 questions each. There is no negative marking in the HITSEEE 2020 Exam. The candidates can attempt all the questions.

Admit Card

The Admit card will be available on the official website only. It will not be sent by mail or post. The HITSEEE 2020 Admit card will be released on the official website on April 24, 2020.

Admit card is one of the important documents which a candidate has to carry to the HITSEEE Exam Center along with the photo ID proof. Without the HITSEEE Admit card, the candidates will not be allowed to the Exam hall.

How To Download HITSEEE Admit Card?

To download the HITSEEE 2020 Admit card from the official website the candidates will have to follow the steps given below:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website
  • Step 2: Click on the Admit card link
  • Step 3: Enter your Application number and DOB
  • Step 4: Click on the Login button
  • Step 5: Take a printout of the result.

Exam Centers

There are almost 75 HITSEEE Exam centers across India. The HITSEEE 2020 Exam will be conducted from April 29, 2020 to May 3, 2020. 

The candidates who are appearing for HITSEEE 2020 will be given an option to choose their preferred test center when they are applying for the Exam. 

Once the test center is chosen it can not be changed. The candidates should be careful while choosing the Exam center.

Documents Required On HITSEEE Exam Day

The following are the documents which a candidate should carry to the HITSEEE Exam Center:

  • Admit card
  • Photo ID Proof
  • Passport size photo


The HITSEEE result will be declared only on the official website of the conducting Authority. HITSEEE 2020 Results will be declared on May 7, 2020. The candidates can check their result by visiting the official link of HITSEEE. 

The candidates will have to log in using the credentials. The candidates are advised to take a printout of the HITSEEE Result. This is one of the documents that a candidate should carry during the Counseling process. 

How To Download HITSEEE Result?

The candidates can follow the steps given below to download the HITSEEE result from the official website:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website and click on the result link
  • Step 2: Enter Application number and DOB
  • Step 3: Click on the View result button
  • Step 4: Download and take a printout of the Scorecard

Cut Off

The HITSEEE 2020 Cut Off will be the minimum score that candidates need to secure to be eligible for a particular course. The cutoff list will be released on the official website. The merit list will have opening and closing rank given for each course.

If the candidates have scored ranks that come in the range of that list they will be called for the counseling process. 

The factors which determine the Cutoff of HITSEEE 2020 are as follows:

  • Total number of candidates appeared for the test
  • Previous year cutoff trends
  • Number of seats available
  • Level of difficulty of the exam

Selection Process

The candidates whose names are in the merit list will be called for the HITSEEE Counseling process. They will be allotted seats to the courses that they are eligible for.


The HITSEEE 2020 Counseling will start only after the results are declared. The candidates who score higher marks will be given the course of their choice.

Only the candidates who scored the eligible ranks will be called for the Counseling process.

  • The candidate has to bring a valid ID and HITSEEE 2020 admit card to the examination hall. Any tampering of Hall Ticket will automatically lead to the disqualification of the candidate.
  • The candidate is advised to arrive at the online HITSEEE 2020 Exam Centre at least 2 hours before commencement of the examination. This will enable the candidate to familiarize himself/herself with the online examination process.
  • The candidate is not allowed even if he/she is late by One Minute from the commencement of the examination.
  • Check the Hall ticket carefully for your Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Category, Test Centre Name, Date and Time of examination.
  • A seat indicating Hall Ticket number will be allocated to each candidate. Candidate should find out and occupy their allotted seat only.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process
  • Eligible Criteria to join b.tech was to have 50% in my Higher Secondary.
  • I took HITSEEE their own entrance exam to help me get admitted in the course.
  • Mostly everyone will be admitted to most of the courses given that they have the minimum eligibility.
  • Aeronautical and Automobile Courses need significantly higher marks since they are the best courses offered in our college.

Hello Akhil,

In that case, you have to contact the officials of the HITSEEE 2018. As such you contact them and ask for the admit card replacement. Any decision taken by them will be valid and final.
