The Consortium of NLUs will open the correction window for the CLAT. Candidates who have already submitted their CLAT form 2026 will only be able to make adjustments. Candidates should be aware that they will not be able to update every detail on their CLAT UG application form, only those specified by CNLU. CLAT application correction window 2026 is likely to open till the fourth week of 2025.

Registered candidates must edit their application form through this facility on the official website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The exam for CLAT 2026 is to be conducted on Dec 7, 2025, by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs), at the respective CLAT exam centres 2026 across India.

Students need to log in using their registered mobile number and password to correct their CLAT 2026 application form preferences. CLAT 2026 registration fee is INR 4,000 for general category aspirants and INR 3,500 for SC, ST & BPL students. Students have to fill out the CLAT 2026 application form to appear in the exam.

CLAT Application Form Correction

CLAT application form 2026 correction window will be activated in the third week of Oct 2025. Registered candidates will be able to update their CLAT exam centre preferences and edit details such as their names, date of birth, and reservation eligibility using this facility.

Candidates can apply for CLAT 2026 to be admitted to the 24 participating NLUs' 5-year integrated and one-year LLM programs. These NLUs have a total of 2,644 seats available for the integrated program and 914 seats available for the program, based on previous year trends.

CLAT 2026 Application Correction Window

Candidates can use the following processes to alter their CLAT applications 2026 to change their categories and CLAT exam centres:

  • Step 1: Candidates must select the link for CLAT 2026 application adjustment.
  • Step 2: Use your mobile number and password to log in.
  • Step 3: Select CLAT 2026 Edit Application from the menu.
  • Step 4: For NLU preferences, select "Category and Seat Reservation." Select the "Personal Details" option to determine your OBC category status, either Non-Creamy Layer or Creamy Layer.
  • Step 5: Make the necessary adjustments, Press the Next button.
  • Step 6: To submit the modifications, choose the declaration checkbox and then click Save.

CLAT 2026 Application form for OBC (NCL or CL) Category Update

"Candidates who have selected All India Category as Other Backward Caste and uploaded their OBC Non-Creamy layer certificate have incorrectly answered the "Do you belong to Non-Creamy layer?" question," according to a notification issued by the Consortium of NLUs for OBC category candidates.

Candidates are encouraged to evaluate and improve their applications. Please note that claims for eventual consideration as a Non-Creamy layer will not be considered."  Candidates must correctly change their category, as this will not be permitted throughout the CLAT admissions process.

CLAT Form Fees

Important Instructions for CLAT Exam

  • CLAT 2026 online enrollment will close in the fourth week of Oct 2025.
  • The completed application form, along with the payments, must be submitted and paid on or before the fourth week of Oct 2025. Incomplete application forms will not be accepted. To minimize last-
  • minute headaches, candidates must fill out and submit their application forms ahead of time.
  • The candidates must first register on the CLAT 2026 website using their personal mobile number and email address. After registering, an OTP will be given to the registered mobile number for validation.
  • Once the mobile number has been authenticated, candidates can log in using the registered mobile phone and the password they gave when registering.
  • Please complete the form carefully. The candidate's and parents' names must be spelt accurately in the application, as they appear on certificates, mark sheets, and identity evidence. Any change or alteration discovered may disqualify the candidate.
  • Please keep in mind that once the application has been filed and paid, the candidate will be unable to change the program, category, or BPL field.
  • Candidates are needed to carefully study the guidelines and provide accurate and authentic information. If the information provided at any stage of the application, examination, and admission process is found to be false or incorrect, or if there is a discrepancy or mismatch between the information provided by the candidate at the relevant section and the certificates/documents produced at the time of admission, the provisional admission offered to the candidate will be cancelled with immediate effect without assigning any further reason.
  • If the difference or mismatch is related to the candidate's eligibility for inclusion in a certain reservation category, the candidate will be considered for admission to the NLUs in later rounds of the Admissions Counselling Process, but not in that reservation category.
  • Candidates must choose the relevant program (UG/PG) and category. Requests to amend the program or category on the application form will not be considered.
  • The CLAT 2026 application cost is nonrefundable and non-adjustable.
  • The original certificates/documents provided by the relevant authorities as indicated in the brochure must be submitted to the designated university in the form and manner stipulated by the various universities during admission.

Reservation Details for CLAT 2026

The Consortium of National Law Universities has created a reservation category for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) at the National Law University and Judicial Academy in Assam.

Change in CLAT Reservation category – NLUJA, Assam

How To Update the Reservation Category in the CLAT 2026 Form? 

The consortium has also issued critical directions to revise the reservation category for candidates who have chosen the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam. They must also visit NLUJA's official website to view the most recent informational brochure. The steps to edit the reservation category are as follows: 

  • Step 1: Visit the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
  • Step 2: Login to the CLAT candidate account.
  • Step 3: Click on the Edit Application button.
  • Step 4: Navigate to the Reservation tab under NLUJA.
  • Step 5: For the question: Are you a resident of Assam? Answer yes and choose the reservation category you want to claim from the drop-down option.
  • Step 6: Click the submit button to save the changes.

All other national law universities offer domicile reservations, except NLU Jodhpur. Candidates should choose the reservation status if they are qualified to apply for seats under the domicile category. CLAT 2026 scores will be accepted by the 22 participating NLUs for enrollment in their UG and PG programmes for the forthcoming academic session. Following is the program-wise seat intake.

NLSIU Bangalore has announced a 25% reserve of seats for domiciled candidates in Karnataka. Hence NLSIU Bangalore offers 60 seats, and 25 seats will be offered under the domicile category for BA BA LLB program and LLM programs, respectively.

CLAT Seat Matrix Update on TNNLU Tiruchirapalli

The following is the new TNLU seat matrix:

  • All India OBC category* has been implemented for both UG and PG. Students who selected OBC in the All India category field would be immediately considered for the TNNLU All India OBC category.
  • Wards of Kashmiri Migrants and Kashmiri Pandits / Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) have been included in the UG categories. To apply for this category, eligible candidates must update their reservations.
