Introduction to SLAT 2019 

  • About SLAT 2019: Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) is a common written Entrance Exam conducted by Symbiosis International Deemed University (SIU) for Law course Admission.

  •  About SIU: Symbiosis International University (SIU) officially Symbiosis International, is a Deemed to be University located in Pune, India. The university has 28 academic institutions spread over ten locations in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Nashik, Noida and Pune.

  • Conducting Authority: Symbiosis International University (SIU) is the SLAT Conducting Authority which was founded in the year 2002.

  • Registration: Online Application for SLAT Registration shall be available on the Official Website from 24th January 2019 up to 15th April 2019. 

  • Admit Card: Candidates who do the Registration process completely and correctly shall Download the Admit Card from the Official website from 20th April 2019.

  • Examination: SLAT 2019 will be conducted on 4th May 2019 at all the Exam Centre.

  • Result: Candidates who appear for SLAT 2019 shall check the results from the Official Website on 14th May 2019.

SLAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates shall check the Eligibility Criteria and then Proceed to Register if they satisfy all the Eligibility Criteria.

  • Academic Qualifications: Candidates shall clear their XIIth class (under 10+2 board) or an equivalent exam.

  • Minimum aggregate: Candidates shall secure 45%, and SC/ST category candidates need to have 40% as their aggregate.

  • Age Limit: As per the orders of the Supreme Court, there is no age limit for students applying for law programmes.

  • Candidates shall clear their 12th class examination in a single attempt. Those who have a compartment or had once appeared for compartment examination are not eligible for SLAT 2019.

  • Candidates who have completed their 12th class through open/distance learning and open university system are not eligible for SLAT 2019.

  • Candidates will be asked to submit the necessary documents at the time of admissions stating that they fulfil all the eligibility criteria of SLAT 2019  and are eligible to pursue the law programme.

  • The OCI/PIO candidates and the foreign nationals who want to study the undergraduate Law courses don’t need to appear for the SLAT 2019 exam. Their admission can be done through the Symbiosis Center for International Education.

SLAT 2019 Application Form

  • Registration: Candidates shall start registering themselves to SLAT 2019 from 24th January 2019 up to 15th April 2019 through the Official Website.

  • Registration Fee: Candidates can Pay the Registration fee of INR 1750 through any of the payment modes,

    • Billdesk Payment Gateway or Easebuss Payment Gateway or Indian Bank Payment Gateway or Demand Draft.

  • PAYMENT THROUGH DEMAND DRAFT,
  • Submit a Demand Draft (DD) of INR 1750 from any Nationalized Bank in favour of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat” payable at Pune.

  • Choose the mode of Payment as 'DD Payment' in "Make Payment" Tab. Take a print of the payment advice form, fill in the DD Details, sign and send it along with the DD to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat at,

  • SLAT 2019 Application Fee is Non-Refundable.

  • Documents to Upload: Candidates shall Upload latest scanned colour passport size photograph at the time of Online Registration and photograph should not be more than 3 months old.


SLAT 2019 Application Process

The candidate who wishes to undertake SLAT 2019 shall first register themselves

  • Online Registration

    • Candidate shall visit the Official Website and register themselves from 24th January 2019 within 15th April 2019.

  • Upload Passport Sized Photograph

    • The photograph has to be uploaded at the time of registering online, and the photograph should not be more than 3 months old.

  • Fill the SLAT 2019 Application Form

    • Candidates shall have to now fill the important details in the application form, details like

      • Students personal details.

      • The educational details of the student

      • The contact details of the candidate.

  • Pay the Application Fee in the “Make Payment Tab”

    • The application fee for SLAT 2019 is INR 1750, and it can be paid through any of the payment modes like,

      • Billdesk Gateway

      • Indian Bank Gateway

      • Demand Draft.

  • Complete the rest of the registration process

    • Now the students will have to complete part 2 of the registration procedure. In this step, the students will have to select the programme they want to study and also the institute at where they want to take admission.


SLAT 2019 Admit Card

  • Candidates shall keep visiting the official website for the regular updates.

  • SLAT 2019 Admit card will be available to download from 20th April 2019 from the Official Website.

    • Visit the Official Website.

    • Click on Download Admit Card.

    • Enter the Online Registration Number.

    • Download the Admit Card and take the colour printout.

  • Candidates shall the Colour Printout of the Admit Card.

  • Candidates shall paste the latest passport size, colour photograph on the Admit Card at the place provided. (Your photograph should not be more than 3 months old)

  • Along with the Admit Card, Candidate shall have to Carry the Photo Identity Proof (Driving License, Adhar Card, PassPort, PAN Card) to the Examination Centre.

  • An authorized person will verify and authenticate the Candidates' Admit Card against the photo-id on the day of the test.

  • An Authenticated Admit Card is an important document without which the candidate will not be permitted to appear for further selection processes of SIU. If the Authenticated Admit card is lost, a duplicate Authenticated Admit Card will not be issued. It should be retained till the admission process is over.


SLAT 2019 Exam Centres

  • SLAT 2019 shall be conducted in an online mode across 80 cities all over India. A candidate may choose three preferences of test cities.

  • No change of test city requests will be entertained once a candidate has completed registration for SLAT 2019.

  • The Test Centre and its address will be printed on the Admit Card. The Admit Card will be available on the Official Website from 20th April 2019.

  • All efforts will be made to by SIU ensure that the candidate gets a test city as per his/her preferences, however, in some exceptional circumstances, a different test city in the nearby area may be allotted.

SLAT 2019 Exam Pattern

  • SLAT 2019 will be conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

  • The duration of each test is of 150 minutes, No extra time will be given for candidates who report late at the test centre.

  • The Examination will be held on 4th May 2019 

  • SLAT 2019 timing shall be 9:30 am to 12.00 pm (Reporting time: 07:30 am)

  • All the Questions of SLAT 2019 are objective in nature. Each question has 4 responses. The candidate shall choose an appropriate response.

  • There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

  • All sections are mandatory.

SLAT 2019 Syllabus

  • SLAT 2019 consist of 5 subjects out of which each subject has the same number of Questions and same marks.

  • Legal Reasoning: In this section, they relate a situation that may or may not have any direct relation with the real-life scenarios. In this section, the Candidate will have to think legally and solve the case. The situations may different and there is no specific syllabus for this section and the students will have to solve as many questions of Legal reasoning as they can.

  • Analytical Reasoning: The analytical section prepares the candidate to gain important reasoning skills.

    • Odd One Out.

    • Coding Decoding.

    • Data Sufficiency.

    • Statement and Conclusions.

    • Analogies.

    • Series.

    • Blood Relation.

  • General knowledge: This section will contain questions that will be based on the general updates and latest news, particularly in the field of law. New appointments, Amendments, etc can be asked in this section.

    • UN bodies.

    • Awards and honours.

    • Current affairs.

    • International events.

    • Sports.

    • Eminent personalities.

  • Reading Comprehension: This section will check the reading skills. Students will be given an unseen passage. Students are supposed to carefully read the same. On the basis of the passage, the students will be asked questions.


SLAT 2019 Result

  • SLAT 2019 Results will be Announced in the Official Website on 14th May 2019.

    • Candidates shall Visit the Official Website.

    • Enter the LoginID and Password.

    • View the Result and take the Print Out of the Result Sheet for Further References.

  • Once the Candidates Qualify the Examination they shall get into any of the three symbiosis Law School (Pune, Noida, Hyderabad) under SUI.
