AILET syllabus 2026 consists of some important topics such as vocabulary, antonyms and synonyms, general science, statements and assumptions, international and municipal law, immunities, patents, pollution, and many more. The syllabus has been revised bythe  National Law University (NLU). Candidates must refer to the revised syllabus before starting their preparation. AILET 2026 syllabus comprises three sections: logical reasoning, English, current affairs for the UG program and Constitutional Law, Property and others for the LLM program.

The logical reasoning carries almost 50% weightage, including legal principles questions to test the legal aptitude and knowledge of candidates. In the revised syllabus, legal aptitude and mathematics sections are eliminated.

AILET Syllabus for BA LLB 2026

AILET syllabus 2026 for BA LLB comprises three sections, English, general knowledge & current affairs and logical reasoning. The BA LLB question paper has a total of 150 MCQs, and each question carries 1 mark. The exam duration is 120 minutes.   • English: Vocabulary, Idioms and Phrases, Spotting Errors, Legal Terms and Maxims, Tenses, Subject verb Agreement, Parts of speech, Figure of speech, Punctuation, and sentence rearrangement, unseen passages and questions related to the passage, jumble words, idioms, Antonyms, Synonyms, Phrases. 
  • General Knowledge and Current Affairs: History, Geography, General science, Economics, Civics, Political Affairs, Supreme Court Judgement, Important Awards, Science & Technology, Arts & culture, Historical events, International affairs.
  • Logical Reasoning: Statement & assumptions, identify the arguments, inference-based questions, cause & effect, statement & arguments, strengthening & weakening arguments, analogy, distance & directions, blood relations, coding, sitting arrangement, analogy.

Note: The question paper will also comprise questions based on recent happenings and general awareness related to the last year.

AILET Syllabus 2026 For LLM

According to the modified AILET syllabus 2026, the LLM program comprises two sections. The nature of questions is multiple choice, and the exam duration is 120 minutes. A detailed AILET syllabus for LLM is given below. 

  • Constitutional Law: Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles, Executive, Judiciary, Legislature, Centre-State Relations, Emergency provisions.
  • Law of Contracts: General Principles, Standard form contracts, Contract of Agency, Contract of Guarantee, Contract of Indemnity.
  • International Law: International Law and Municipal Law, Subjects, State Territory, State Jurisdiction, Immunities, Recognition of States.
  • Jurisprudence: Schools of Jurisprudence, Sources of Law, Rights and Duties, Legal Concepts, Family Law.
  • Property Law: Transfer of Property Act, Easement Act, Land Acquisition Act.
  • Intellectual Property Law: Patents, Copyrights, Trademarks, Designs.
  • Law of Evidence: Relevancy, Admissibility, Confessions, Expert Opinion, Witnesses, Privileged Communications.
  • Criminal Law: General Principles, IPC, CrPC, Evidence, Prevention of Corruption Act, Cyber Crimes, Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
  • Environmental Law: Water, Air and Noise Pollution, Environmental Impact Assessment, Wildlife Protection Act, Forest Conservation Act.
  • Human Rights & International Law: UDHR, ICESCR, ICCPR, Human Rights Commission, World Trade Organization, World Intellectual Property Organization.
