What is CG PET Exam?

 The Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board i.e. CPEB conducts the CG PET which is also known as CG Vyapam, every year.

  • Course Offered: Candidates will be provided admission to various streams of Bachelors of Engineering i.e B.E. programmes through CG PET examination.
  • Mode of Exam: CG PET 2019 examination will be conducted in offline mode i.e Pen and Paper based test.

Exam Dates

CG PET 2019 Application form is now available on the official website and candidates can fill the form till April 7, 2019. It was actually released on 19th March 2019. All the Important Exam Dates are listed below - 

  • Fee Payment: All candidates can make their fee payment until the second week of April 2019.
  • Admit Card: The CG PET 2019 Admit Card will be available on the official website from April 26, 2019. 
  • Exam date: CG PET 2019 will be held on May 2, 2019 in 2 shifts, in offline mode.
  • CG PET Result 2019: CG PET 2019 exam result is expected to be released on June 4, 2019. 

Eligibility Criteria

Brief information regarding CG PET 2019 Eligibility Criteria is given below:

  • Education Qualification: Aspirants must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent exam from a state or a central board with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biology/ Bio-Technology as compulsory subjects.
  • Minimum Percentage: Applicants from general category should have a minimum 45% aggregate in 10+2 or its equivalent.
  • Candidates those who belong to ST/SC category should have secured a minimum 40% aggregate in 10+2 or equivalent to attend the CG PET 2019 exam.
  • Age Limit: The upper age limit to apply for CG PET 2019 is 30 years as on 30th June 2019.

Steps to fill Application Form

  • Go to the official website of CG Vyapam and follow “CG PET 2019 admission”.
  • Fill in the name, password and email ID to register and create a profile.
  • After successfully filling all the required details, applicants can get their Registration ID number for CG PET 2019 exam.
  • Candidates now have to upload their scanned passport size photograph (4.5*3.5cm), thumb impression and signature in JPEG format. The size of the file should not exceed above 50KB.
  • To finish the Registration Process, payment for CG PET 2019 exam has to be done. The Application fee can be paid by credit card /debit card, net banking or Bank challan of SBI Bank.

  • Once submitted, aspirants will not be allowed to make any changes in the CG PET Application Form. So, exercising utmost caution is adviced while filing the CG PET form.

Admit Card

Steps to download Admit Card

  • Visit the official website of CG PET 2019.
  • Use the application/registration number and password to log in.
  • Click on the link tab “Admit card”.
  • The admit card will be opened in a separate tab and can be downloaded from there.
  • Note: Candidates will have to carry CG PET 2019 Admit Card along with one valid photo ID proof to CG PET 2019 exam centre on the day of exam.
  • Photo ID proof can be anyone among driving license, voter ID, PAN card/Aadhar card or any other govt ID. The photo of the candidate must be clear and visible on this ID proof.

Exam Pattern

Brief information regarding CG PET 2019 Exam Pattern is provided below:

  • Duration: Candidates will have 3 hours i.e 180 minutes to attend 150 questions. Generally, questions will be taken from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.
  • Marking Scheme: For every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded and there is no negative marking.
  • Question Type: CG PET 2019 questions paper will be in objective type format or multiple choice questions (MCQs) pattern. Here, test-takers have to choose one option from a given choice of 4 options.

How to prepare for CG PET Exam?

Mentioned below are a few tips and tricks to crack the CG PET Exam - 

  • Prepare a Time-Table and Try To Be Organised - It is very important to prepare a time-table. This will help the candidates appearing for CG PET Exam to work in a systematic manner and help you cover all the important sections of the syllabus. 
  • Practice Previous Years’ Question Papers and Take Up Mock Tests- Solve as many sample papers and previous year question papers as you can analyse them so that you get to know which topics you are weak at. Previous year question papers will also help you in understand the exam pattern and syllabus.
  • Time Management - You need to learn how to manage time and it should be the utmost priority for CG PET 2019  candidates. The syllabus that needs to be covered for CG PET is quite vast and therefore managing time during the preparation of the exam is very important. Always remember to keep a track of time taken to cover a particular section or topic of the subject.

  • Locate the “Check Result” tab.
  • Click on that tab
  • The result will be displayed. Download to submit it during CG PET 2019 counselling.

Cut - Off

CG PET Exam Cutoff list will be released by the exam conducting body. It will determine the minimum marks required to appear in the merit list.

Counselling

Aspirants those who have cleared the cutoff of CG PET exam are eligible to attend the CG PET 2019 counselling from June 14, 2019 (tentative date) onwards.

  • CG PET 2019 Counselling Registration: Candidates need to register themselves in CG PET official website before counselling begins. But document verification is done only after seats are allotted in the online counselling.
  • Note: The seat will be allotted on the basis of a prospective candidate's merit, options filled by that candidate and availability of seats.

Hi Saurya,

CG PET Counselling will start from 14th June 2018. Documents that will be required during counselling process are:-

  • 10th standard marks sheet

  • 12th standard marks sheet

  • Category Certificate (If applicable)

  • Domicile Certificate

  • Class certificate (If required)

  • PH certificate (If required)

The eligibility criteria for different courses is different. If you want to apply for Engineering courses and you belong to ST/SC category then you are eligible for CG PET.

I advise you to re-register for CG PET.

There can be multiple reasons to why your application form was rejected.

The CG PET Board (DTE) holds full authority to reject any candidates application without any prior notification.
