Overview of the Eligibility Criteria for VITEEE 2019

Age
Born on or after 1st July 1997.
Qualification
Completed 10+2 with Mathematics as compulsory subject and minimum of 60% aggregate.
Reservation
Minimum 50% aggregate in 10+2.
Exceptions
Part-time Education.

VITEEE 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The VITEEE 2019 eligibility criteria include details of the qualifying exam, subjects, age criteria, minimum marks required, and other a few other details. Candidates appearing for the exam, make sure you go through the VITEEE 2019 eligibility criteria before you start preparing for the exam. Those who fail to meet the criteria would not be allowed to appear for the exam.

If you are eligible for writing the exam make sure that you prepare yourself for the exam by going through the VITEEE 2019 Syllabus. The various eligibility criteria for VITEEE2019 is given in the table below.

VITEEE 2019 Description 

Nationality

  • Indian Nationals and Non-resident Indians can apply for VITEEE 2019.
  • PIO / OCI issued by the government of India can apply
  • PIO/OCI issued by the government must have studied in Indian in the preceding two years.
  • Foreign nationals can apply through the Foreign National Application form.

Qualification

Candidates who wish to appear for VITEEE 2019 should have either completed or should be appearing in 2019 in following exams:

  • The final exam of 12th or PUC or 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) conducted by the state board, central board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), the council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi)
  • Intermediate or 2 years after 10th Examination conducted by a recognized Broad/university.
  • High School Certificate Exam of International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Organisation, Geneva or Cambridge University.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri lanka ) at the Advanced  (A) level.
  • As per VIT norms, NIOS candidates are also eligible to apply. They should submit Migration-cum-Transfer certificate at the times of admission.
  • Candidates who have studied in Regular. Full Time and Formal Education alone eligible to apply.
  • Students who appeared for +2 or 12th exam through different boards in the same academic year are not eligible for VITEEE 2019.

Minimum Marks

  • Candidates should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology taken together in 10+2 or equivalent exam (+2/intermediate).

  • Average marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology (PCM/PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the following categories
    • For SC/ST candidates
    • Jammu and Kashmir candidates, Nort Eastern States of Arunachal Prades, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura candidates
    • NOTE: For these documents, the necessary documents should be submitted during counselling.
  • Students who have studied Maths, Biology, Chemistry & Physics are eligible to appear for the examination.
  • Candidates should have studied physics, chemistry and abiology are eligible for B.Tech Bioengineering and B.Tech Biotechnology Programmes. They are also eligible for B.tech ECE with special in BioMedical  Engineering, B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (Spec. in Bioinformatics) but after joining, registering mathematics as bridge course is compulsory.

  • The candidate whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1997.

VITEEE 2019 Eligibility Criteria Details:

The most basic eligibility criteria for the candidates who are appearing for the VITEEE 2019 is that they need to secure at least an aggregate of 60% in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics/Biology in the 12th-grade examination.

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be born on or after 1st July 1997. Date of birth recorded in class X/High school certificate will only be considered for online. These certificates should be produced during the counselling as proof.
  • Qualification: Candidates need to have all the qualifications mentioned below to meet the eligibility criteria for VITEEE 2019.
    • Candidate has to complete final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination -ISCE, New Delhi for the eligibility criteria VITEEE 2019.
    • Candidate must have completed the Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University for eligibility criteria VITEEE 2019.
  • Minimum Score: Candidates who will appear on VITEEE 2019 Exam Date should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate). Candidates belonging to the SC/ST sections or North Eastern states need to have an aggregate score of 50% to be on the eligibility criteria VITEEE 2019 list.
  • NIOS: VITEEE 2019 is also open for NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling). They should produce Migration Cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining. 
  • Full-time schooling: Candidates must have done full-time schooling and not part-time schooling, as it would be against the rules.
  • Biology Courses: If VIT applicant has also taken up biology in his/her schooling, he/she can apply for any of the 3 biology courses at VITEEE - Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Genetics and Applied Microbiology.
  • Other Courses: Eligibility criteria for courses like Architecture, Advanced Sciences, Civil and Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Social Sciences&Languages, Business School and Law School varies according to their departmental needs.

Age Proof for VITEEE 2019:

Candidate should be born on or after July 1, 1997. Candidates must submit any of the following certificates only as proof of age:

  • High School
  • SSC
  • Class X

Note: 

  • Candidates who will fulfil the eligibility criteria and fill the application form will be issued the VITEEE 2019 Admit Card.
  • Original certificates must be produced at the time of VITEEE 2019 counselling.

To be eligible to appear for VITEEE, the candidate:

  • The eligible applicant must be born on or after 1st July 1995.
  • To be eligible, one must have cleared 12th standard(compulsory subject being math and an optional subject being biology).
  • VITEEE is also open for NIOS.
  • All VIT eligible students must have studied either regular type of education or full-time education and not part-time otherwise the entire application is discarded, overruling eligibility.
  • Even when the eligibility criteria are met with, the applicant aspiring a seat at VIT can only get one course out of the 18 available course at VITEEE. 
  • If the VIT applicant has also taken up biology in his schooling, he is eligible to apply for any of the 3 biology courses at VITEEE - Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Genetics and Applied Microbiology.
  • The eligibility for courses like Architecture, Advanced Sciences, Civil and Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology&Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Social Sciences&Languages, Business School and Law School varies according to their departmental needs.
  • Depending on the eligibility criteria laid by VIT and subject is chosen, the applicant can take up respective courses at VITEEE once he gets to the application procedure

The eligibility criteria for VITEEE 2017 is given below:

  • Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1995 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2017

The candidates must have cleared intermediate with minimum 60% marks from a well-known education board that is CBSE, ICSE or any other recognized board to be eligible. The candidate is not eligible because he has scored 55% in his intermediate exam.

The cutoff for VITEEE changes every year but according to the statistics, the eligibility for VIT first round counseling ends at 20,000.
