MICAT 2024 Phase 1 exam is scheduled to be conducted on Dec 2, 2023.
MICAT results 2023 for MICAT-II released on the official website and GE-PI shortlist has also been published by the exam authority. Candidates can download the scorecard from the official website. The final result has been released by the conducting body on Apr 11, 2023.
MICAT 2023 GE-PI list for shortlisted candidates was released on Feb 17, 2023, and the GE-PI is scheduled to be conducted from Mar 7 - Mar 25, 2023, at different campuses of MICA, namely Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi.
MICAT is conducted by MICA, Ahmedabad, two times (MICAT I & MICAT II) every year. Candidates who successfully qualify for the written test are shortlisted for GE and PI rounds for final selection. MICA University, Ahmedabad, is responsible for conducting MICAT 2023.

MICAT Marking Scheme 2023
The candidates must check the marking scheme of MICAT 2023 in order to understand the waymarking is done for their responses in the entrance test.
- Section A - It consists of a psychometric test. There is no negative marking in this section, but it is necessary to qualify for the psychometric test.
- Section B - The descriptive test consists of questions that require candidates to write the answers to the asked questions in brief. This section also does not have negative markings.
- Section C - It has four sub-sections including Divergent and Convergent Thinking; Verbal ability, Quantitative ability Data Interpretation and General awareness. For every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
MICAT Result 2023 – Calculation of Normalisation of Scores

The score obtained by the candidates in a sub-section of MICAT-I/MICAT-II will be converted to a normalised score through the appropriate statistical methods.

The normalized score will be calculated for every sub-sections.

The institute will determine the normalized score by considering scores of all qualifying candidates up to the stage applicable to the candidate.

In the four subsections, the total MICAT-I/MICAT-II score will be calculated using normalised or scaled scores for each of the MICAT components

The formula for calculating the normalized score is given below -
Normalised score – Verbal Ability (VA) of a candidate 'X' in MICAT-I/MICAT-II 2021 = (Score - VA of the candidate 'X'/Maximum obtained by any candidate from those who appeared in MICAT-I/MICAT-II in VA) multiplied by Maximum Possible Score in VA in MICAT-I/MICAT-II.
MICAT 2023 - Preparation of Shortlist for GE & PI
- Psychometric tests act as a qualifier and have no weightage in the preparation of the merit list.
- The candidates will be shortlisted for GE and PI on the basis of their performance in all the rounds.
- MICA Ahmedabad will determine the cut-off marks for the sub-sections and descriptive tests. Only those candidates who clear the cut-off marks will be eligible for the GE and PI.
- Those candidates who wish to take admissions through entrance tests other than MICAT 2023 will be assessed based on their marks in CAT/XAT/GMAT.
- The candidates have to participate in the GE and PI round of MICAT 2023 at their respective MICAT centre.
- The GE and PI rounds will be conducted in different centres including Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Mumbai.
- The final merit list of MICAT 2023 will be prepared after the completion of GE and PI for all the candidates.

The first MICAT 2023 merit list shall contain the names of the students selected for the GE and PI rounds. The merit score will be dependent on two factors, i.e. the MICAT score and CAT/XAT/GMAT score.

MICAT Cut Off 2023
The MICAT's official authorities will release the MICAT 2023 cutoff after the MICAT result 2023 declaration. MICAT cut off marks announced by the official authorities are the minimum marks required by candidates to qualify for the next round in the admission procedure. Candidates are advised to successfully check the overall marks/percentile required to qualify for the next round in the admission process. Candidates need to understand that if they fail to qualify for the cut off marks announced by the exam authorities, they will not be promoted to the next round in the admission process.
MICAT Calculation of Score
Candidates need to understand the score calculation criteria designed by the official authorities at MICA. Candidates have to appear in CAT/XAT/GMAT exam to be eligible for MICAT. CAT/XAT/GMAT exam score carries a weightage of 50% and MICAT score carries a weightage of 50% in the admission procedure.
The formula used for Scaled Score: Scaled Score for a particular subject of a candidate in MICAT-I/MICAT-II = (Score of the candidate 'X' /Maximum obtained by any candidate amongst the candidates who have appeared in MICAT-I/MICAT-II in that subject) multiplied by Maximum Possible Score in that subject in MICAT-I/MICAT-II.
