Vardhman Mahavir Medical College was established at Safdarjung Hospital by the Government of India. It was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the year 2001. VMMC College has established itself as a prestigious medical institution in India. The college is affiliated with the famous Safdarjang Hospital for clinical teaching.  Admission for the MBBS course in the institute is based on the NEET UG, and admission for MD or MS is based on the NEET PG exam. 

Vardhman Mahavir Medical College admissions for the year 2024 are in process. The institute's Courses provide education and care in medicine-related areas. The college provides modern facilities for medical investigations and patient care. Safdarjung Hospital is the largest hospital under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and is well known for its quality of services since its pre-independence days.
